Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1391: Chapter 722: Arrival in Venice

In the end, Zhou Yun couldn’t withstand the bombardment of calls from Yao Yuanfeng and asked the crew for leave to go to Venice for the film festival.

However, she agreed with Yao Yuanfeng that she wouldn’t attend the premiere but would arrive on the day of the screening of ”Four Killers” to participate in the screening and press conference.

After attending, Zhou Yun would return to the crew for filming.

Yao Yuanfeng was naturally somewhat dissatisfied.

He hoped Zhou Yun could stay a few more days with the crew at the Venice International Film Festival for more promotion.

Zhou Yun’s international fame could spark interest in the film from international distributors.

A single ”Life” had earned New Shield full acclaim.

But Zhou Yun’s stance was very firm. Initially, she was reluctant to attend the festival; she finally agreed to go, and Yao Yuanfeng knew Zhou Yun’s temperament. If truly pushed, Zhou Yun might decide not to go after all. So, eventually, Yao Yuanfeng had no choice but to compromise.

”I really envy Sister Xiao Yun, being able to go abroad for so many prestigious film festivals every year.”

While chatting idly on set, Liu Ziyin said with envy.

Another person said, ”Exactly, when I was studying acting, I kept thinking about when I could attend an international film festival.”

”What’s there to envy? We should do our best, perform our roles well, and someday we’ll have the chance to go too,” Song Qiqi suddenly said.

Her attitude and tone suddenly silenced everyone.

Liu Ziyin impatiently rolled her eyes at Song Qiqi, saying, ”What’s wrong with a few envious words? Are you not envious?”

Song Qiqi said, ”I’m not envious.”

”Heh, who would believe you,” Liu Ziyin rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, ”You always pride yourself on your good acting, yet you’ve never won any awards.”

”According to your logic, not winning awards means bad acting?” Song Qiqi frowned and retorted.

Liu Ziyin said, ”At least it wouldn’t be like you, always blabbing about your good acting. When did Eldest Sister Yun ever boast about her good acting?”

Song Qiqi snorted coldly.

”My good acting is a fact, so what if I say it?” She looked up and down at Liu Ziyin, ”Better than you, who don’t even dare to say you’re good.”

Liu Ziyin was furious and shouted, ”Are you saying I’m bad at acting?”

Song Qiqi: ”I never said that, don’t twist my words, I just said you don’t dare to claim you’re good, if you dare, I have no say.”

Liu Ziyin was so exasperated that she didn’t know how to retort.

”Fine, you’re just great, I didn’t know, you’re so capable.” She said, ”Whether I’m good or not isn’t for you to say, but I know true actors never boast about themselves, even if you’re good, you’re only a bit better than us, how good can you be? If you’re so great, go win a Movie Queen award!”

Song Qiqi shrugged, ”No point in talking, I’m too lazy to argue with you.”

She turned and walked away.

Liu Ziyin was so enraged by Song Qiqi’s attitude that she stomped her foot.

The others quickly comforted Liu Ziyin.

”Ziyin, don’t let it get to you with self-righteous people.”

”Right, she’s just like that, always has been since she joined the group, why get mad at her?”

Liu Ziyin grumbled discontentedly, ”I’m just annoyed at myself for not being able to out-talk her, how can there be people like this!”

”Don’t be mad, you still need to film soon.”

...

Song Qiqi returned to her rest room with a glum face.

Earlier, in front of Liu Ziyin and the others, Song Qiqi showed no sign of anger or embarrassment.

But Liu Ziyin’s words were like poisoned arrows piercing her, she acted nonchalant, but inside she was hurt, feeling full of holes.

She insisted she wasn’t envious of Zhou Yun.

How could that be true?!

Song Qiqi had thought countless times, if she had the same opportunities as Zhou Yun, standing on the international stage, how far could she be from Zhou Yun?

Not far at all.

Song Qiqi’s heart was ablaze.

Her aspirations were high, she believed she wasn’t weaker than others, she wanted everyone to see her acting!

In this role as a waitress in ”Moon Sinking at Sea,” Song Qiqi had put in considerable effort, fighting for the role earnestly against many others.

Previously, she didn’t lack opportunities to act in dramas and films, but she always thought those works were too ordinary, too trivial, she looked down on them, unwilling to act in such mundane roles.

This time, ”Moon Sinking at Sea” was a widely acknowledged good opportunity, Song Qiqi’s goal was simple, she wanted to appear in this drama, to make more people see her.

As long as more people saw her, she was confident that many people would notice the light in her.

...

Zhou Yun was unaware of the many happenings in the crew after she left.

On the day she arrived in Venice, the sunlight was exceptionally bright.

It wasn’t her first time here; the last time, she was apprehensive and anxious, but this time, she had a relaxed mindset, without the tension she felt before.

However, her schedule was tight, with no free time to explore the surroundings.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Zhou Yun immediately began trying on dresses for the red carpet premiere tomorrow, followed by several media interviews.

It’s all routine work.

Not until late at night could Zhou Yun return to her room and rest.

She took off her heels and said to Zheng Xiaojue, ”I need to wash up and sleep. Call me in the morning; I’m afraid I won’t wake up.”

Zheng Xiaojue agreed.

After bathing, Zhou Yun found a message from He Xuran in their four-person actor group asking if they wanted to go find a nearby bar for drinks.

Zhou Yun politely declined: I’m going to sleep.
