Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1352: Chapter 707: Dangerous Scene_3

”Then I’m jealous, you get to go on vacation and I still have a show to shoot,” Zhou Yun said.

Wen Bing laughed.

Zhou Yun said, ”What about you? What are you planning to shoot next—are you just going to focus on filming the sequel to Two tigers and build a whole Two tigers Universe?”

Right now the film industry is especially fond of building XX Universes.

Mainly because the Marvel Universe and DC Universe, those two big universes, have smashed in box office numbers enough to make anyone green with envy.

There’s no one who doesn’t covet that big piece of cake.

Wen Bing said, ”I don’t really have any specific ideas right now. I’ll take a vacation first, clear my head, then we’ll see.”

Zhou Yun grunted and nodded.

On the actual final day of shooting, there was just one last big scene.

Zhou Yun had to jump off a high-rise building.

Extremely dangerous and thrilling.

Before this, no one had dared to shoot this scene.

Zeng Yeng had been trying to talk Zhou Yun into letting a professional stunt performer double for her and help her complete this shot.

Zhou Yun flatly refused.

This wasn’t some super high-difficulty move she couldn’t pull off; it was just very dangerous, that’s all.

But as long as the safety measures were in place, this scene actually wasn’t that hard.

Because Zhou Yun insisted on doing it herself, everyone in the crew was on edge as if facing a great enemy.

The safety measures were checked over and over again.

The stunt coordinator personally went up to demonstrate.

Zhou Yun stood at the edge of the high-rise. The height of over a hundred floors made her dizzy just from glancing down.

She had still overestimated herself.

Zhou Yun swallowed nervously.

This scene was very simple.

All she needed to do was jump down, slide along the glass outer wall, slide to the designated spot, grab onto a protruding outside corner, then kick through a pane of glass and jump inside.

And it would be done.

The scenes after that had already been shot earlier.

Wen Bing came over to talk with Zhou Yun about how they were going to shoot this.

”Nervous?” Wen Bing asked.

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes and said, ”No shit I’m nervous.”

”Sister Yeng already said we could have a professional stunt performer do it for you. Why won’t you agree?” Wen Bing asked.

Zhou Yun took a deep breath.

”Because I’ve taken this paycheck, this is the job I’m supposed to do. If I do it myself, you can shoot it however you want, no need to worry about cutting around a double. If I do it myself, we can get the most thrilling, most exciting footage.”

Wen Bing was impressed.

The first time they tried to roll, Zhou Yun’s calves were shaking.

Zhou Yun was strapped into a safety harness, and for ten whole minutes of terror she still didn’t dare jump.

Everyone knew that at this moment, Zhou Yun was scared, terrified. No one said a word, and Wen Bing didn’t rush her.

They just waited for Zhou Yun to get her head straight on her own. Zhou Yun turned and gave the camera a small nod.

Wen Bing called out, ”Cut.”

Zhou Yun didn’t understand and asked, ”I haven’t even jumped yet, why are you yelling ’Cut’?”

Wen Bing walked over and said, ”Your eyes are all red. Let’s wait a bit.”

Turned out it was because Zhou Yun had been standing up there too long, and the wind was so strong it had blown her eyes red.

Zhou Yun didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Zhou Yun hoped she could nail it in one go and not have to jump a second time.

But things didn’t go her way. The first time she jumped, Zhou Yun was completely freaked out, screaming her head off, totally unable to do any acting at all—her soul had just flown out of her body.

When they pulled her back up and she set foot on solid ground again, she felt like she’d just survived a disaster.

She was drenched in cold sweat.

Wen Bing came over to persuade her: ”How about we just drop it? We can bring in a stunt performer.”

Zhou Yun’s face showed hesitation and struggle.

To be honest, after that jump just now, she’d gone weak.

She really didn’t dare jump again.

But was she just going to give up like this?

Zhou Yun was unwilling.

In film history, those especially famous action stars—who didn’t fight their way up like this?

Why couldn’t she push herself the same way?

Zhou Yun said to Wen Bing, ”Let me try two more times. If I really can’t get over it, then we’ll bring them in. But let me try first, see if I can conquer my fear.”

Hearing Zhou Yun say this, Wen Bing stopped trying to talk her out of it and nodded.

Zhou Yun rested for a while and then got ready for the second attempt.

This time, probably because she’d already jumped once, she didn’t have that same paralyzing fear of the unknown that had kept her from even lifting her leg the first time.

Zhou Yun was thinking about how to slip into character and slide down in character.

Qiu Qian is a very decisive, cold, battle-hardened Female Assassin. Faced with this kind of danger, she would feel the nerves and the rush, but she wouldn’t be afraid.

Zhou Yun had no experience dealing with this kind of situation.

All she could do was rely on self-hypnosis.

You can do this. You are Qiu Qian. It’s fine. You’re being hunted, the situation is urgent, you have to jump. With your skills, you know you can break out of this dead end.

As long as you stop at that spot, you won’t fall.
