Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1366: Chapter 712: Choosing a Script (Part 2)

Xu Siyao has a very poor attitude towards the staff.

Especially after ”Dingfengbo” became a hit, according to many people, Xu Siyao no longer pays attention to ordinary staff.

Even if it’s ten o’clock at night, as long as she thinks of something, the relevant staff have to come from home to the office to work overtime based on her ideas and demands until they fulfill them.

During work, being late or leaving early is a small matter. The most infuriating incident within the company was when they had an important lunch meeting with another partner company, and it was already agreed that Xu Siyao would attend. But just before noon, Xu Siyao suddenly said she wouldn’t come, without giving any reasons.

As a result, the partner company thought Chengqian Entertainment was messing with them, causing a very unpleasant situation.

This was just one incident.

In short, Xu Siyao not only shows great disrespect for other people’s work but often causes trouble, like lying, just to achieve her own goals.

Huang Zicheng doesn’t know if Xu Siyao is up to some mischief again this time.

”Knock knock.”

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

This apartment is shared by him and Lu Zhongting, and it could only be Lu Zhongting knocking on his room door.

Huang Zicheng: ”Come in.”

Lu Zhongting walked in.

He tossed something over.

Huang Zicheng reached out to catch it.

”What’s this?” he asked.

Lu Zhongting said, ”I brought some tea back from Zhejiang. You like drinking tea, right?”

Huang Zicheng laughed, ”Thanks.”

”I’m leaving for Guangxi tomorrow to shoot. I’ll be back in October,” Lu Zhongting said.

Huang Zicheng nodded and asked, ”Is it ’Thousand Mechanism’?”

Zhou Lan arranged for Lu Zhongting to get a role in a fantasy series, as a supporting male character.

This is a major S+ project with top-tier leads. Zhou Lan talked with the producer for a month to secure this role for Lu Zhongting.

Lu Zhongting nodded, ”That’s right.”

Huang Zicheng: ”Go for it, perform well, aim to become famous next year.”

”Oh please, aiming to become famous,” Lu Zhongting waved his hand.

Huang Zicheng asked, ”What time are you leaving tomorrow?”

”At ten in the morning.”

”No need to wake up early, wanna go out for a drink together?” Huang Zicheng asked.

Lu Zhongting nodded, ”Sure, are we drinking at home or going out?”

Huang Zicheng said, ”Let’s go out.”

Since neither of them is famous yet, not many people recognize them; walking on the street, they’re just two handsome guys catching many people’s eyes.

They headed to a bar near their apartment.

They frequent this place, so the staff at the bar know them well.

The place is packed, but it’s not the kind of bar where everyone sings and dances; about ninety percent of people here are simply drinking.

The atmosphere in the bar is lively.

When they entered, they only caught the attention of a few people sitting near the door, otherwise, no one paid much attention.

There were no empty booths available, so they had to sit at the bar.

This didn’t matter.

Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting often sat at the bar.

”You two are here,” greeted Xiao Kui, who was managing the bar.

Xiao Kui is young and works as a bartender.

Huang Zicheng smiled at her and said, ”How come I don’t see your boyfriend today?”

Xiao Kui’s boyfriend also works at this bar.

Both of them work at this bar.

Xiao Kui said, ”He’s sleeping. He’ll come later.”

She asked, ”The usual?”

Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting nodded at the same time.

Xiao Kui had many customers to attend to.

Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting continued their conversation at their seats.

”This time of year must be really hot in Guangxi, right?”

Lu Zhongting nodded.

”I suppose it is.”

Huang Zicheng said, ”Don’t think filming fantasy series is bad. Every year, one or two fantasy series explode in popularity. Otherwise, Sister Lan wouldn’t have gotten you this gig.”

Lu Zhongting: ”I don’t think filming fantasy series is bad, I just...”

Lu Zhongting didn’t finish his sentence.

Huang Zicheng asked, ”You just don’t think it’s the kind of film you want to do?”

Lu Zhongting nodded.

”Although I don’t really have the right to say this, honestly, I don’t want to act in this kind of film,” said Lu Zhongting.

”So what kind of film do you want to act in?” Huang Zicheng asked.

Lu Zhongting said, ”I want to act in... the kind of films Sister Xiao Yun acts in.”

”I knew you’d say that,” Huang Zicheng laughed, patting Lu Zhongting on the back, ”But don’t forget that Sister Xiao Yun also started with films like ’Eighth Heartbeat.’ In our situation, better not be picky. It’s great enough to have roles. When you become famous, and have the power to choose, then you can act in the films you want.”
