Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1373: Chapter 714: Returning to the Company (3)

Kang Xin said with a displeased face, ”What is this garbage film.”

Zhou Yun: ”Feels like the director filmed it perfunctorily, and the actors acted perfunctorily.”

”You can tell it’s a money-grabbing bad movie, maybe even for money laundering.” Kang Xin directly criticized, ”Such a film is really embarrassing.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

”If it’s a bad film, no matter how much they pay you, don’t accept it.” Kang Xin advised Zhou Yun.

”Alright.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’ll definitely keep that in mind.”

Kang Xin got into the car with an unfriendly look on her face and left.

Zhou Yun drove herself to the company.

She was going to see He Yong.

She had arranged to meet with He Yong at three in the afternoon.

When she arrived at the company, it was only half past two.

So Zhou Yun went to the coffee shop downstairs at the company.

Most of the customers at this coffee shop were staff members from Chengqian, and Zhou Yun immediately attracted everyone’s attention as she walked in.

But because everyone worked in the entertainment industry, the halo and filter of celebrities were somewhat discounted in their eyes. They wouldn’t rush up like ordinary fans to ask Zhou Yun for autographs or photos.

But there were still quite a few people who liked Zhou Yun.

Everyone still secretly took out their phones, taking pictures or recording videos.

Zhou Yun usually didn’t appear here, so her sudden appearance was like descending from the heavens.

Zhou Yun sat down, ordered an Americano, and took out the book she brought from her bag.

Toni Morrison’s ”Favourite.”

This is an author recommended by a writer Zhou Yun really likes.

Zhou Yun had never read a book by this American author, so she bought an entire series to take home.

”Hey, Zhou Yun.”

Ten minutes later, suddenly someone came over.

Zhou Yun looked up in surprise, only to find out it was Li Ci, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time.

At first glance, Zhou Yun didn’t recognize Li Ci.

When she previously met Li Ci, he was the leading male artist in the company and also the most profitable artist; Zhou Yun had even filmed ”Dingfengbo” with him.

Although this drama wasn’t filmed to perfection, Li Ci’s performance in this drama received overwhelming negative reviews.

Over the past couple of years, Li Ci has been on a sharp decline; in just one or two years, the former top stream suddenly faded.

No one dared to cast him, and even those loyal fans left him one by one.

Li Ci was dressed in colorful trendy brands, and his hair was styled pink like a walking cake.

Zhou Yun was shocked looking at his appearance.

”Why did you dye your hair such a bright pink?” Zhou Yun couldn’t help but criticize as soon as she spoke.

Li Ci, with a teasing and warm smile, was briefly dazed by Zhou Yun’s quip before restoring his smile and said, ”Summer is here, so I dyed it a youthful color.”

Zhou Yun: ”... You’re quite bold.”

Li Ci sat down opposite Zhou Yun and said, ”You just got back from filming abroad? I wanted to find you before, but people told me you were overseas.”

”Yes, just got back, what do you need?” Zhou Yun asked.

Li Ci chuckled and said, ”I’m facing some difficulties now; no one is casting me. Can you help me?”

Even though Li Ci was requesting Zhou Yun’s help, his face maintained a kind of indifferent smile.

Of course, Zhou Yun also noticed the underlying tension hiding behind Li Ci’s indifferent smile with a hint of regret.

Zhou Yun wasn’t entirely clear about Li Ci’s situation, only knowing that his career had declined drastically.

She asked puzzledly, ”No one’s casting you? That’s impossible; even if it’s temporary difficulty, why hasn’t He Yong helped you get roles?”

Previously, He Yong was the one who fervently supported Li Ci.

Upon hearing He Yong’s name, Li Ci suddenly felt aggrieved.

”Don’t mention him; he’s just a cold-blooded capitalist. When I was popular, he only had good things to say; the moment I hit a snag, he pushed me out, refusing even to see me!” Li Ci said discontentedly.

Zhou Yun pondered silently.

Whether Li Ci’s words were true or not, Zhou Yun didn’t dwell on it.

Because thinking about it was pointless; she knew exactly what He Yong was like.

Before she became famous, she was even more aware of He Yong’s attitude.

Zhou Yun thought about Li Ci.

Li Ci suddenly reached out to her for help, should she assist him?

After mulling over it briefly, Zhou Yun said, ”Li Ci, you and I worked together on ’Dingfengbo,’ so we have some ties; logically, if you come to me for help, I should assist you. But, I heard that you not only act arrogantly but also don’t cooperate while acting, which tarnished your reputation in the industry. If I help you, will you turn over a new leaf and act well?”

Li Ci was suddenly confronted by Zhou Yun directly hitting his sore spot, his face turned green.
