Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1365: Chapter 712: Choosing a Script

On the way back driving, Zhou Lan was smirking secretly to herself.

Xu Siyao was indeed asking for too much, she actually wanted an important role in ”Killing Song.”

Zhou Lan muttered to herself in the car, ”You’re dreaming big! With this dream, why don’t you just say you want to play the female lead?”

Even as she ridiculed Siyao, she felt a bit nervous and anxious inside.

Because she feared that Xu Siyao really had her eyes on this movie and would devise every possible way to join it.

Zhou Yun had finally managed to get rid of Xu Siyao for a year.

This past year, everyone finally stopped associating Zhou Yun with Xu Siyao. Xu Siyao tried several times to cling to Zhou Yun but was thwarted by Zhou Yun’s team, rendering her efforts futile.

If Xu Siyao were to act in ”Killing Song,” then for the following years, Zhou Yun could forget about shaking off Xu Siyao.

Zhou Lan decided to drop the idea of letting Huang Zicheng act in ”People Talking on Stars.”

Zhou Lan would never sacrifice Zhou Yun’s interests to accommodate Huang Zicheng.

For her, Zhou Yun was of the utmost priority; no one came before her.

Zhou Lan calculated, if Huang Zicheng couldn’t act in ”People Talking on Stars,” what role should she arrange for him?

As Zhou Lan pondered this, she didn’t know that Xu Siyao had already called Huang Zicheng.

”Hello, Zicheng.” Xu Siyao said in a sweet, sugary voice on the phone, ”Where are you now?”

Huang Zicheng was stunned to see Xu Siyao’s name on the caller ID, taking a long while to recover.

Why was Xu Siyao calling him?

Huang Zicheng didn’t understand or comprehend it.

”Me? I’m at the apartment now.” Huang Zicheng was staying at the apartment arranged by Zhou Lan.

Xu Siyao gasped in surprise, saying, ”Oh, you’re not working? That’s great, I thought I’d be disturbing you by calling.”

Huang Zicheng: ”...”

He didn’t quite know how to respond.

”No, Sister Siyao, is there something you need from me?”

Xu Siyao said, ”Just now, your agent came to me, recommended you, and wanted you to play the male lead in my new drama ’People Talking on Stars.’”

Huang Zicheng frowned instinctively.

”Sister Lan?”

”Yeah,” Xu Siyao asked, ”Sister Lan is still personally handling your agency work? Or did she find another agent for you guys?”

”No, she’s still personally managing us,” Huang Zicheng replied truthfully.

He was still feeling a bit peculiar.

The peculiarity was, how could Sister Lan go to Xu Siyao to let him act as the male lead in her new drama?

Huang Zicheng thought this was impossible.

Was Xu Siyao lying to him?

Huang Zicheng was puzzled.

The second peculiarity, even if Zhou Lan indeed approached Xu Siyao, why would Xu Siyao call him?

After being in the industry for some time, Huang Zicheng now knew that this circle heavily emphasizes hierarchy and status.

For a newcomer like Huang Zicheng, Xu Siyao was not even on the same level.

Moreover, he wasn’t at all familiar with Xu Siyao.

Huang Zicheng asked, ”Sister Siyao, is there something you wanted to tell me?”

Xu Siyao laughed, saying, ”It’s nothing specific, just wanted to personally let you know, if your agent agrees to my condition, you’ll get the male lead in my new drama.”

Huang Zicheng asked, ”Condition? What condition?”

Xu Siyao replied, ”Just a small request, she can definitely fulfill it.”

After speaking, Xu Siyao said ”bye-bye,” and hung up the call.

Huang Zicheng frowned.

The phone call left him bewildered before he answered and even more so afterward.

He hesitated about whether he should call Zhou Lan to tell her about this.

After thinking it over, he decided against it.

Since Zhou Lan hadn’t mentioned anything about Xu Siyao’s new drama, he’d better act unaware.

Huang Zicheng didn’t want to bother Zhou Lan.

Who knows how much of what Xu Siyao said in the call was true?

Xu Siyao’s reputation and evaluation within the company were very negative.

Many people disliked Xu Siyao, partly because of her, having exposed too much of her hypocrisy and manipulative nature during her struggle with Zhou Yun a while back, and partly due to her own actions over the past two years.
