Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1374: Chapter 715: Meeting He Yong

”Forget it.”

Zhou Yun suddenly stood up and walked away.

Zhou Yun was stunned.

Was it because what she’d just said was too blunt and pissed Li Ci off so much that he stormed off?

Zhou Yun was utterly surprised.

She really hadn’t expected that Li Ci’s temper was still this bad.

Zhou Yun thought over what she’d just said. Although she had indeed been very direct, maybe a bit heavy-handed, it was something that had to be said.

Zhou Yun couldn’t recommend an irresponsible Li Ci to another crew; that would be screwing that crew over.

So why did Li Ci suddenly leave?

Because he felt his pride was hurt?

Zhou Yun sat in her seat, lost in thought for a long time.

It was close to three o’clock when Zhou Yun finally got up to look for He Yong.

Who knew she’d run into Li Ci again at the door of He Yong’s office.

Li Ci was tangling with He Yong’s secretary.

”I know He Yong is in there. Go tell him this: if he doesn’t see me today, I’m not leaving!” Li Ci said to He Yong’s secretary.

He Yong’s secretary looked completely helpless.

”Li Ci, President He really is in a meeting right now, he’s not in his office,” He Yong’s secretary said. ”Even if you stay here waiting, it’s useless; you’re just wasting your time.”

Li Ci shouted, ”If he’s not in his office, then open the office door and let me see for myself.”

This request was pure troublemaking, and He Yong’s secretary was equally helpless.

”Li Ci, that’s against the rules, I can’t do that,” He Yong’s secretary said. ”If you want to see President He, please make an appointment in advance.”

Li Ci snapped, ”If I could get an appointment, would I still be here wasting breath with you? Tell me, is it because I’m not popular anymore that you’re looking down on me like some dog?”

Even Zhou Yun, listening from behind, couldn’t help feeling a surge of anger on the secretary’s behalf.

This guy really had no idea how to talk.

But He Yong’s secretary was a professional after all; he was used to this kind of scene. He didn’t let any emotion show on his face, kept smiling, and said, ”Li Ci, whether you’re popular or not, I’m still President He’s secretary, and I still have to follow the rules.”

Li Ci looked full of resentment.

He pointed at He Yong’s secretary. ”You’re real tough, real capable, huh? Just you wait till I get popular again. The first thing I’ll do is have He Yong fire you, you little bully hiding behind someone’s authority!”

He Yong’s secretary kept smiling and didn’t say a word.

Zhou Yun had watched the whole thing from behind, and she didn’t even know how to describe what she was feeling.

Was this what they meant by ”a leopard can’t change its spots,” or was it just a dog that can’t stop eating shit?

Li Ci’s behavior left Zhou Yun bitterly disappointed.

Back when he was hot, he had a bad temper, was spoiled, looked down on everyone, threw his weight around, wore a constant scowl, and refused to cooperate with the work. Those behaviors had already come back to bite him.

Zhou Yun had originally thought that Li Ci would have changed a little.

After cursing out He Yong’s secretary, Li Ci turned around in a huff and saw Zhou Yun standing not far away.

He Yong’s secretary also noticed Zhou Yun at the same time.

It was as if Li Ci had caught hold of some handle; he immediately pointed at Zhou Yun and started shouting at He Yong’s secretary.

”Did she come here to see He Yong?”

For the first time, He Yong’s secretary looked a little awkward.

He was just about to explain when Zhou Yun spoke up on her own.

”Who told you I came to see He Yong?” Zhou Yun walked over. ”And even if I did come to see He Yong, what does that have to do with you? Looking at the way you are right now, what would it even mean if you did see He Yong?”

Li Ci said viciously, ”He has to help me!”

”Help you? How is he supposed to help you?” Zhou Yun said. ”With that attitude you just had in the café, walking out the moment you felt like it, and the way you shoot your mouth off in front of him? Acting like this, who would dare help you? Whichever crew they send you to, which one are you not going to offend?”

Li Ci: ”None of your business! Don’t think that just because you’re popular now you’ve got the right to lecture me. Let me tell you, when One Day you’re not popular anymore, He Yong will treat you exactly the way he’s treating me today!”

Zhou Yun’s expression stayed calm as she said, ”Li Ci, do you know what the biggest difference is between you and me? Even if One Day I’m no longer popular, trust me, I won’t need to come running here to beg He Yong to help me. The producers, directors, actors, and screenwriters I’ve worked with will all help me, because they know my acting is good and they know I’m highly cooperative at work. I don’t need to rely on this company to prop up my career. If you have even a shred of self-awareness, you should be asking yourself this: when you stopped being popular, why did all those people you’d worked with before stop bothering with you?”
