Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1381: Chapter 717: Hidden Mountain Scholar_2

Zhou Yun still has to film ”Moon Sinking at Sea”, but before that, she needs to finish shooting this movie.

The role Zhou Yun is playing is very stereotypical, portraying a coquettish yet powerful figure.

This is a historical drama.

A wuxia film.

Of course, Zhou Yun doesn’t have action scenes; she just plays one of the female bosses the main character group encounters on their adventure.

Once Zhou Yun put on her costume, she was a bit surprised.

Mainly because since ”Eighth Heartbeat”, besides ”Warm Little Horse”, she hasn’t played any supporting roles. The leading roles she took were often positive portrayals, but this time, she is not a villain, yet not exactly positive either, creating quite a difficulty for the main character group.

Zhou Yun’s entire appearance is quite sensuous and alluring.

She took her costume photos, then went to meet Yuh Huaijiang and the director.

What she didn’t expect was that the director was such a young person with acne on his face.

Very young.

Zhou Yun was shocked and when greeting others, she openly said, ”Director, you are so young.”

The young director was very respectful in front of Zhou Yun, saying, ”Thank you for helping me by acting in this film.”

Yuh Huaijiang said, ”This is Mo Conglan, the director, and screenwriter, and also the original author of the story.”

Zhou Yun realized suddenly, ”Hello, you’re welcome. I have never played this type of role before. I am also very happy to try this kind of character.”

Mo Conglan is a writer who became famous at a young age. After writing the novel ”Hidden Mountain Scholar”, he coincidentally hit the peak period when original authors were becoming directors in the film industry, so he became the first choice to direct the film adaptation of the novel.

However, Mo Conglan spent several years writing the script, and by the time he finished it and sought funding, the trend of original authors becoming directors had already passed.

Through twists and turns, the project ended up in Yuh Huaijiang’s hands.

After chatting with Mo Conglan, Yuh Huaijiang didn’t consider finding someone else to direct. Mo Conglan would still be the director.

No experience? It’s fine because Yuh Huaijiang is here to back him up.

With a seasoned and capable producer, they can fully support a new director as long as this director truly has talent.

When filming the first scene, Mo Conglan talked about the scene with Zhou Yun, and she could sense Mo Conglan’s lack of confidence.

Yuh Huaijiang told her that since it was Mo Conglan’s first time directing and he was unfamiliar with the film industry, he would inevitably feel unsure when facing a big celebrity like her, asking her to bear with it.

The truth proved Yuh Huaijiang’s worries were indeed valid.

This film, with a new director and a new lead, is why Yuh Huaijiang invited a lot of powerhouses and big names to safeguard this film.

Otherwise, a completely new cast would struggle to secure good slots and attract audiences, no matter how strong the promoter is.

The script is very solid, with clear beginnings, developments, turns, and outcomes, leaving no room for distraction.

The role Zhou Yun plays actually only has four scenes, and her screen time may just be about twenty minutes, if even that.

Yet, even with just this much screen time, the characteristics of this brothel owner are clearly written.

A few newcomers are also very adept at acting.

Yuh Huaijiang has cast talented actors.

Zhou Yun plays a brothel owner, who on the surface is a pimp, but in reality, she controls the largest intelligence network in the worldly society.

The main character group comes to her place to gather intelligence.

In the script, this character is a very domineering yet enchanting woman, sensuous and still charming.

Zhou Yun’s age hasn’t reached the stage of ”still charming,” making it her biggest challenge to portray the worldly-wise sense of the character.

For this, Zhou Yun has been continuously practicing.

Finding the right state, finding the right feeling.

Mo Conglan was also very straightforward, telling her, ”When I was writing this character, I didn’t intend to convey anything through her, I just set up a character like this, then wrote her to be very worldly and very much a pimp.”

If Zhou Yun wasn’t guest-starring in this role, Mo Conglan wouldn’t have paid special attention to the character.

Zhou Yun said, ”Maybe she only appears in the movie for ten minutes, but I still hope to give her an immediate sense of reality when she appears. The audiences are too familiar with my face. I like this character’s exaggerated appearance. Everyone shouldn’t recognize me at first glance, and since this style is my first attempt, it’s something no one has seen before, it will surely be surprising.”
