Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1371: Chapter 714: Returning to the Company

Zhou Yun wanted to recommend Luo Zhiheng, who played her brother in Falling Leaves, to Kang Xin.

If she remembered correctly, Luo Zhiheng had just finished his high school exams.

Zhou Yun said, ”When I worked with him before, his acting was great, very explosive, and he has a high talent. I originally wanted Song Chi to sign him, but because of this year’s high school exams, he hasn’t acted since we finished shooting last year, and he’s been preparing for the exams. I don’t know how he’s doing now.”

On hearing this, Kang Xin got a bit excited and said, ”Alright, how about you show me the segment where he acts in Falling Leaves? If he’s really good and suitable, I’ll go meet him.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’ll talk to Sister Luo Qi, see if I can get her to provide a segment for me.”

”What’s his name?” Kang Xin asked.

Zhou Yun said, ”Luo Zhiheng.”

Kang Xin paused and said, ”I remember that name; I must’ve met him before.”

”He’s acted in quite a few productions, started since he was young,” Zhou Yun said, ”Anyway, when I worked with him, he could be quite frustrating, his personality is very stubborn. But aside from that, he’s good-hearted, just a bit impulsive.”

Kang Xin: ”That’s not an issue.”

He then sighed and said, ”Originally, I wanted Song Chi to act in Elm Spirit, but the shooting schedule clashed with Moon Sinking at Sea.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

”It’s unfortunate; both he and I took on Moon Sinking at Sea,” Zhou Yun said, ”However, Director, if there’s a chance and I have the time, I’m happy to guest star in a role for you.”

Kang Xin said, ”That would be an easter egg and surprise for everyone.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”How’s the production of Chen Yin going?” Zhou Yun asked.

Kang Xin said, ”Post-production is done, and it’s been sent for review.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”There shouldn’t be any issues, right?”

”I don’t know yet. They said there wouldn’t be any issues before, but Chen Yin’s topic is a bit sensitive; I expect there might be some challenges,” Kang Xin said, ”It’s alright, I’m prepared for that.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m really looking forward to this drama being aired.”

This was the most intense role she had ever played.

Zhou Yun wondered what the final broadcast would be like; she was very curious.

Zhou Yun said, ”Actually, for the past few years, I’ve been playing rather heavy roles, very deep ones. I somewhat want to play roles that are more about everyday life and telling our daily stories.”

Kang Xin asked, ”Are you talking about reality-based dramas like Little Separation, Housing?”

”Not exactly, it’s not like that. How should I put it? Hmm, for example, something like My Story Is Long. Director Kang, have you seen this drama? It’s a Japanese drama that tells the story of a homebody, and the whole story is very mundane, just about he and his family, all those ups and downs in life, yet it’s not melodramatic, and Nagi’s New Life, Watermelon, these Japanese dramas all have this style,” Zhou Yun said. ”I feel like the roles people offer me now are always very complex with heavy life stories. I know from a theatrical perspective, these roles are richer and more challenging to play, but I’d also like to try something different and closely related to our daily lives.”

Kang Xin pondered for a moment.

”I’ve thought about shooting this type of drama before, but almost no investor considered it promising,” Kang Xin’s mouth curved into a helpless smile, ”And it’s not that our market has never tried this style, but they have basically all failed.”

People still prefer a bit of melodrama, something with dramatic twists and turns.

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”I’m just saying, honestly, it’s because I haven’t acted in them, but I really like these dramas, so I think if given a chance, I’d like to try acting in one.”

Kang Xin nodded.

”I understand.”

Zhou Yun said again, ”Director, apart from Elm Spirit, are you preparing any other productions?”

Kang Xin asked, ”Why? You just finished shooting Chen Yin with me, now you want to work on something else with me?”

Zhou Yun: ”Of course I’d like to, but I can’t take on any roles this year. By next year’s first half, I’ll definitely be shooting Killing Song, and in the second half, I might be shooting the sequel to Two Tigers, or the sequel to Female Assassin, or maybe nothing at all. That depends on the progress of New Shield and Wen Bing over there. Apart from these productions, I don’t have other plans. If you have a suitable script, reach out to me.”
