Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1357: Chapter 709: People Talking on Stars_2

”Wasn’t the due date next week? How... wasn’t everything fine when I called just now?” Zhou Lan followed, panicked and confused.

Is this an early labor?

”I drove, I’ll drive, you two sit in the back,” Zhou Lan said. ”Also, quickly call the hospital.”

Yin Zhou got in the car; the first thing he did was call Yuk Chu’s obstetrician.

Yuk Chu seemed to be in severe pain, leaning against Yin Zhou’s shoulder, constantly moaning with painful noises.

Zhou Lan really couldn’t bear to hear those sounds.

Her heart was racing, tense and anxious.

Please don’t let anything happen!

Please don’t let anything happen!

There was a voice in Zhou Lan’s heart praying.

It wasn’t until they got Yuk Chu to the hospital and handed her over to the doctors that Zhou Lan, standing in the hallway, realized she was drenched in cold sweat.

Thankfully, everything was normal with Yuk Chu.

Zhou Lan sat on a bench in the hallway, covered in cold sweat, her eyes vacant, staring at the floor.

She was really frightened just now.

Yin Zhou was in the labor room accompanying Yuk Chu.

Zhou Lan didn’t go inside.

She gave herself a moment to breathe, let out a long sigh, picked up her phone, and called Yuk Chu’s assistant, instructing them to come directly to the hospital.

In addition to that, Zhou Lan called the PR team to let them know there might be news about Yuk Chu giving birth these days, and asked them to monitor it carefully to prevent any negative publicity.

There’s a lot to do.

Now that Yuk Chu suddenly went into labor, the child could be born any moment. This isn’t the time to discuss the script with her.

”Hey!” Suddenly, a voice greeted her.

Zhou Lan looked up upon hearing the voice, only to be captivated by the face in front of her.

The one greeting her was a very handsome man.

He was wearing a white coat, indicating he must be a doctor, with a somewhat indifferent and slightly fatigued expression.

He pointed to Zhou Lan’s feet and said, ”Is that your wallet?”

Zhou Lan woke from her daze, glanced down, and indeed, on the ground lay a white wallet. But it wasn’t a wallet; it was a cardholder.

Of course, there’s not much difference.

Inside were her ID card and other important belongings.

She hurriedly picked it up, lifting her head to say thank you, only to find that the handsome male doctor had already walked away.

She could only see his back.

That back was imprinted in her mind.

Zhou Lan sent a message to Yin Zhou, letting him know that the assistant would be there soon, and that she was leaving but would come back later. If anything came up, just call her directly.

Yin Zhou replied after ten minutes: Thank you, Sister Lan, I couldn’t have done today without you!

Zhou Lan thought, with Yin Zhou and Yuk Chu living together, there was no live-in nanny at home, which is somewhat inconvenient. Especially since Yuk Chu’s relationship with her parents is quite cold now; even with Yuk Chu having a baby, her parents didn’t come, and Yin Zhou’s family has his sick father, leaving no one to help.

Previously, Yuk Chu’s assistant helped with a lot of things, and they hired a cook.

But thinking about it now, it’s still not very convenient.

In situations like today, Yin Zhou was busy taking care of Yuk Chu, too flustered even to call the hospital’s doctors.

Zhou Lan thought it might be better if they hired a full-time live-in nanny for Yuk Chu.

After all, Yuk Chu will have to return to work to film later.

Zhou Lan had discussed this issue with Yuk Chu and Yin Zhou previously, and Yuk Chu said she was looking but hadn’t found someone suitable.

The nanny needed to be responsible for the child.

They didn’t dare to casually find someone, thinking they’d just replace them if they weren’t suitable.

On the other hand, neither of their incomes is very high.

Yuk Chu only became popular at the beginning of this year, and then got pregnant, not reaping many benefits from her fame.

Hiring a particularly good full-time nanny is very expensive now; Yuk Chu and Yin Zhou might not be able to afford it.

Zhou Lan thought about it, and an idea came to her. Why not simply hire two nannies, one responsible for the child and the other for meals and daily care? That way, Yuk Chu can work outside filming without worrying about the child being poorly cared for.

She noted this idea down in her phone’s memo to remind herself to follow up on it.

For a woman, giving birth is the most impactful and life-changing event.

A mother’s love and natural sense of responsibility for her child will change them a lot.

Zhou Lan hopes she can help Yuk Chu as much as possible.
