Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1378: Chapter 716: Love Story (Part 2)

”But his approach didn’t lead to a good outcome. Look at Li Ci, he ultimately suffered from his self-inflicted outcomes. Poor character, poor business skills, relying solely on popularity and fans, and in the end, when both popularity and fans disappeared, no one cared about him anymore.” Zhou Lan finished speaking and turned her gaze back to Zhou Yun. ”Alas, speaking of which, I’m lucky that with you, Xiao Jing, Huang Zicheng, Lu Zhongting, I don’t have to worry about anything.”

Zhou Yun: ”That’s because, Sister Lan, you pay great attention to character when selecting people. You wouldn’t sign those with bad character or lousy personality.”

Zhou Lan: ”I originally thought this was something everyone could do.”

After dinner, Zhou Lan went home.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi watched a movie together, then went downstairs for a walk.

It was already ten at night; entering the summer night, there was less of the gentle breeze.

It’s only at times like these that the path was pretty deserted, allowing them to walk leisurely.

The two held hands.

At first, neither spoke as they enjoyed the rare quiet.

The breeze softly blew.

Then, Song Chi said to Zhou Yun: ”Let’s get married.”

Zhou Yun was stunned for a moment, not regaining her composure for quite a while.

Mainly because Song Chi’s words came out of nowhere, with no prior sense, like a hammer hitting Zhou Yun.

Song Chi said: ”I’ve thought about this for a long time. I feel no matter what our future plans are, we can get married first. As for when to have kids or move to the next stage, we can think about that later.”

Zhou Yun was both amused and speechless.

”You suddenly mentioning marriage really caught me off guard.”

”So, are you willing?” Song Chi asked.

Zhou Yun nodded: ”I am. But, how come you’re proposing without a ring or roses? Just in slippers, casually walking and proposing?”

Zhou Yun couldn’t believe it.

Song Chi laughed, showing a bright smile.

Zhou Yun immediately became suspicious.

No way, Song Chi isn’t the kind of guy who acts impulsively like this.

Then—

Looking around, Zhou Yun noticed the dim lighting, nothing unusual.

Suddenly, a buzzing sound was heard overhead.

Zhou Yun looked up in surprise, only to see a bouquet of roses being carried mid-air by two drones coming over from the front.

The roses made their way to Song Chi.

Song Chi took them down.

Underneath the bouquet, there was a small switch, and upon opening it, there was a sparkling diamond ring inside.

Song Chi kneeled on one knee, smiling at Zhou Yun.

”Xiao Yun, will you marry me?”

Zhou Yun gasped, covering her mouth with both hands.

Although she knew this day would come, she never thought it would be today.

Song Chi looked up at her and said: ”Is that okay?”

Zhou Yun nodded, with tears unknowingly welling up in her eyes.

She reached out her hand for Song Chi to put the ring on her.

Song Chi placed the diamond ring on Zhou Yun and said: ”I had prepared so many things to say, but now I suddenly don’t know what to say.”

Zhou Yun: ”No need, I’ve heard it all.”

Song Chi hugged Zhou Yun.

In this moment, Zhou Yun’s emotions had yet to settle.

Thinking about wearing the simplest shorts and T-shirt, not having washed her hair, and with a bare face, she felt even more restless.

”Why didn’t you give me a heads up?” Zhou Yun said, ”Look at me now, dressed so casually.”

”It’s okay, no matter when, you always look beautiful to me.” Song Chi lowered his head and kissed Zhou Yun’s lips, a sweet taste.

...

Zhou Lan found out about it the next day.

Upon hearing, she was amazed and scolded: ”Song Chi actually proposed to you when I was gone? Why didn’t he let me witness it!”

Zhou Yun laughed and said: ”He didn’t tell anyone, just had the assistant operate the drone, nobody else was there.”

Zhou Lan felt dissatisfied and said: ”That’s not right!”

”Calm down, you’ll definitely be invited to the wedding later.” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan asked: ”When are you planning to have the wedding?”

Zhou Yun: ”We haven’t discussed it yet, not sure when it’ll be. His schedule is packed this year, probably next year.”

”Even next year’s first half will be hard. You’ll be filming ’Killing Song’ then, likely wrap up in March or April, no time to prepare for the wedding.” Zhou Lan laughed with disbelief, ”The proposal seems to be for nothing.”
