Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1379: Chapter 716: Love Story_3

”No worries, we’re planning to get the certificate first and become a legal couple.” Zhou Yun sweetly smiled.

Zhou Lan: ”Don’t rush into it, okay? Both of you have considerable assets, there’s plenty to sort out.”

Zhou Yun said, ”We’ll rely on you for that, Sister Lan.”

Zhou Lan: ”Hmph, you didn’t even let me attend the proposal ceremony. You heartless couple, I don’t plan on going out of my way for you.”

”Well, you can’t blame me, Sister Lan. I was in the dark too. You wouldn’t believe it, when he proposed to me I was just wearing big shorts, a T-shirt, and slippers, looking all scruffy.” Zhou Yun said, ”He insisted on taking pictures and I didn’t even want to pose.”

Zhou Lan still snorted coldly.

Zhou Yun immediately hugged Zhou Lan, purring like a little cat.

”Oh come on, Sister Lan, don’t be mad.”

Zhou Lan: ”...”

She took a deep breath.

”Alright, alright, stop purring at me.”

Zhou Yun’s eyes lit up, she hugged Zhou Lan and kissed her on the cheek.

”Sister Lan is the best.”

Zhou Lan: ”...”

Sometimes, Zhou Lan just couldn’t deal with Zhou Yun.

This woman, when she’s rational she’s terrifyingly rational, yet when she acts cute, she’s extra clingy, making it hard for anyone to maintain a stern face.

Zhou Lan said, ”So is your marriage with Song Chi going public?”

Zhou Yun thought for a moment, then said, ”I haven’t discussed it with Song Chi, I’m fine with whatever he thinks. Anyway, everyone already knows about us, so whether to go public with the marriage makes no difference.”

Zhou Lan: ”There is a big difference, once you’re married, it’ll be hard to play teenage girls in the film industry. But then again, you haven’t been pursuing that path, so it basically doesn’t affect you.”

Zhou Yun laughed a little.

”I thought you were going to say it affects me.”

”If it weren’t for your exceptional talent combined with luck that propelled you to snag so many Best Actress awards, putting you at the top position, my initial plan for you was indeed to take the popular starlet path. The reputation may not be that high, but given your physique, you’d definitely be famous.” Zhou Lan said, ”After all, there’s a big market for that route and it’s profitable.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”Actually, I really haven’t acted in any youth coming-of-age stories.”

”Yeah, not even a love story.” Zhou Lan said, ”One of your fans even said so, the roles you play are mostly legendary women with great hardship and revenge.”

Zhou Yun burst into laughter upon hearing this.

”But it’s true, Xiao Yun, this time the broadcast of ’Under the Grand Dress’ made me realize something. The audience doesn’t quite accept you playing an ordinary, fragile character.” Zhou Lan said, ”They already have preconceived notions of you as a resilient woman who will fight back at any given time.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”This has a lot to do with the types of roles I’ve played in the past. Except for ’Eighth Heartbeat’, I’ve really not played this kind of role before, unlike Sandra Bullock or Kate Winslet. Even when they’re in their thirties or forties, people still accept them playing roles in ’Love Holiday’ and ’Sham Marriage’. I’m actually very interested in these types of movies too. I want to act in a light-hearted comedy.”

Zhou Lan: ”This needs to be gradual, letting people slowly accept your change. If you abruptly take on a completely different role, unless you’re shifting from cute and naive to hardship and revenge, people can mentally accept it. But if it’s the other way around, they might think you’re downgrading.”

Zhou Yun totally agreed with Zhou Lan’s point.

”Exactly.”

”Actually, ’Love Holiday’ was quite well made. A very standard romance film. It may not have profound philosophy or depth, but the relationships, plot developments, and dialogues are of high quality.” Zhou Lan said, ”I’ve been consciously searching for this type of romantic comedy script for you, but they’re rare here. If I think about it, perhaps only ’If You Are the One’ and ’Beijing Meets Seattle’ are good.”

”Talented screenwriters are reluctant to write love stories, thinking they lack depth.” Zhou Yun said helplessly, ”Look, in the past year or two, only ’Love Myth’ was good, and seeing who the director is, it’s a newcomer. She wrote and directed it herself. Why don’t our great screenwriters write love stories?”

Zhou Lan shook her head.

”Who knows.”
