Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1386: Chapter 719: Drama

Zhou Yun sat down.

Chen Wenjun asked, ”Are you satisfied with the hotel’s environment and service? If there’s anything uncomfortable about your stay, let me know right away.”

Zhou Yun: ”It’s pretty good, President Chen. You care too much about me. Every time we meet, you ask if I’m eating well or if I’m living well.”

Chen Wenjun said, ”Of course, you are our leading lady. I have to handle all the logistics to make sure everything’s perfect for you.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”Thank you, President Chen.”

Chen Wenjun asked, ”Have you met with Teacher Zhi Wei?”

”Yes, I have.” Zhou Yun laughed, ”We just had a meal together.”

Zhi Wei smiled.

Chen Wenjun said, ”You’ve mentioned to me several times how much you like Teacher Zhi Wei’s scripts. I’m lucky the writer for ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is Zhi Wei; otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to get you to act in it.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

”President Chen, don’t exaggerate. If there’s a good opportunity, I’m very willing to work with you on a film, alright?” Zhou Yun sighed lightly, ”Actually, I know that many people in the industry say it’s hard to get me to act, but I really want to clear my name a bit. It’s not that I’m hard to get, it’s just that my schedule is too tight. I’ve taken on a lot of roles and promised others, so often I just can’t take on more projects, no matter how good they are; I have to let them go. For these years, I haven’t really had any breaks; I’ve been working non-stop. I was thinking after filming ’Female Assassin’ that I must take a good rest since I haven’t rested in a long time. But then, you came to me with ’Moon Sinking at Sea,’ and I’m really...”

Zhou Yun spoke as she laughed and sighed.

Chen Wenjun said, ”Rest assured, Xiao Yun, I’ve talked to the director and the coordinators. We will absolutely adhere to the eight-hour work system, and we won’t make you work long hours on set.”

Zhou Yun: ”I hope you can achieve that, President Chen. I’m all injured now.”

”Oh dear, is it from filming ’Female Assassin’?” Chen Wenjun asked.

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”Yes, luckily ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is mostly dialogue scenes, without big action sequences. Otherwise, I would really be in trouble.”

Chen Wenjun laughed and said, ”Filming ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ is sure to be more relaxed than ’Female Assassin.’ Actually, for an actress as skilled as you, there’s no need to take on such hard action roles like ’Female Assassin.’”

Zhou Yun: ”Who doesn’t have a dream of doing action films, President Chen? You don’t understand me.”

Chen Wenjun laughed heartily upon hearing this.

”Alright, I misspoke.” Chen Wenjun said, ”I just think it’s a bit of a pity for someone of your caliber to do action films.”

”No way, Director Wen Bing’s films, regardless of the genre or type, carry his own style and flavor. Plus, doing ’Female Assassin’ wasn’t any less difficult than other films.” Zhou Yun said, ”The acting challenge is not lesser than other roles.”

Zhi Wei curiously asked, ”What, does ’Female Assassin’ have a lot of dialogue scenes?”

”No, it’s that even in every action scene, the character’s state is different, and Director Wen has very high and strict expectations.” Zhou Yun said.

Zhi Wei pouted, ”But the script he writes is really quite poor. I admit he’s a talented director with great cinematic aesthetics, but that script... it’s awful.”

Zhou Yun: ”...”

She couldn’t help but laugh.

Zhi Wei’s scripts are the typical academic type, with clear structure and dramatic tension, and he could clearly not appreciate Wen Bing’s stream-of-consciousness style script, which is understandable.

Zhou Yun said, ”Only Wen Bing can make a good film from his scripts. With other directors, it’s indeed very challenging.”

Chen Wenjun said, ”Actually, Teacher Zhi Wei is currently writing another script, a story adapted from a true event.”

”Hmm?” Zhou Yun asked a bit surprised, ”Teacher Zhi Wei is tirelessly writing; I thought since you just finished with ’Laissez-faire’ and ’Moon Sinking at Sea,’ you’d take a break.”

Zhi Wei said, ”The scripts for ’Laissez-faire’ and ’Moon Sinking at Sea’ were finished a long time ago.”

”I see.”

Chen Wenjun said, ”I’m not sure if you’ve heard of this story. It’s about an event during the Republic era, where a famous female singer in Jiangnan secretly assisted a group of patriotic intellectuals by gathering intelligence.”

Zhou Yun recalled and shook her head, saying, ”I haven’t heard about it.”
