Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1297: Chapter 689: Wrapping Up One After Another (Part 2)

But Zhou Lan was also right.

Collaboration depends on the person, and a partner like Li Rui is really unreliable.

Working with an unreliable person will lead to endless troubles later.

Zhou Yun was caught in a dilemma.

But within three days of her flying to Australia and returning to the ”Female Assassin” crew, Zhou Lan told her that Li Rui had decided to sign with another company.

Zhou Yun was stunned when she heard the news and couldn’t recover for a while.

”Which company agreed to his terms?”

Zhou Lan was equally surprised.

”You won’t believe it when I say it, I didn’t expect it at all, not at all.” Zhou Lan fully expressed her shock and bewilderment with her words.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but be more puzzled and curious.

”Who is it?”

”Seapool Film and Television, Chen Wenjun,” Zhou Lan said. ”I heard it was Windsor who made the connection.”

Zhou Yun, as Zhou Lan expected, opened her mouth wide in surprise.

After breaking up with Wen Bing, Windsor went to Seapool Film and Television and even talked to her about wanting her to be in a film.

After Zhou Yun refused, Windsor rarely contacted her again.

How did Windsor suddenly jump out again?

Zhou Lan said, ”I heard from a friend that someone saw you meeting with Li Rui, and once the news got out, Windsor immediately contacted Li Rui. After learning about his situation, she immediately made the connection and introduced him to Chen Wenjun. Unexpectedly, this kid really hit it off with Chen Wenjun. Chen Wenjun decided on the spot to sign his script, and moreover promised to let him direct, but the condition was that Chen Wenjun also wanted to sign several of Li Rui’s subsequent film deals all at once.”

Zhou Yun heard this and chuckled lightly, saying, ”Chen Wenjun wants to create a ’Wen Bing’ for his Seapool.”

”With Li Rui’s temper, let’s see how long Chen Wenjun can tolerate him,” Zhou Lan said, with a hint of watching a show in her tone.

Zhou Yun, however, said, ”Maybe Li Rui can showcase his talent with Chen Wenjun. Although I don’t like him much, since he can write a script like ’Above the Dust’, I still hope he can create more good scripts.”

Zhou Lan realized that Zhou Yun was actually a bit regretful.

While she was still hesitating whether to continue working with Li Rui, Li Rui had already been snatched away by someone else.

”Xiao Yun, our original intention was just to help talented creators who haven’t found funding. Now that Li Rui has found his funding, found his mentor, and someone is willing to support him, there’s nothing to regret. After all, we’re not real film investors, right?”

Zhou Yun was comforted by what Zhou Lan said.

Indeed, no matter what, the most important thing is for talented people like Li Rui to find their mentors.

Since he found one, not working with her is just a small regret.

Not much, just a little.

Zhou Yun’s main job is still being an actress, and nothing is more important than acting.

The shooting of ”Female Assassin” is so challenging that Zhou Yun must give her all to meet Wen Bing’s expectations, often barely.

Wen Bing entirely demands Zhou Yun’s performance with the attitude used for ”Life.”

If a look from Zhou Yun doesn’t feel right, Wen Bing can make this scene be shot over a dozen times.

Only with Wen Bing does Zhou Yun never know which take is the best and will satisfy him.

Sometimes she feels she’s already given her utmost effort, but Wen Bing still isn’t satisfied.

Wen Bing doesn’t say anything else, doesn’t scold, nor does he tell Zhou Yun where she went wrong, he just says it’s not what he wants and continues to grind.

The most perplexing thing for Zhou Yun was when she really got fed up with acting once. Since nothing seemed right, she decided to give a totally careless performance. Unexpectedly, Wen Bing slapped his thigh and shouted excitedly, ”Yes, that’s the feeling I want!”

Zhou Yun and the other staff on set were startled by him.

Wen Bing often behaves like this.

Because he often immerses himself in his own inner world, forgetting the people around him. As a director, he only reconnects with the world when the actors express the kind of feeling he expects in his mind.

Zhou Yun really couldn’t understand what was good about her careless performance until Wen Bing showed her the rough cut.
