Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1256: Chapter 675: I Won’t Touch You (3)

Jiang Jinghan said, ”It’s nothing much, I just wanted to ask if you would like to go have a cup of coffee together?”

Zhou Yun’s heart skipped a beat.

Coffee?

Zhou Yun didn’t mind having coffee, but she only met Jiang Jinghan for the first time last night at dinner. How come she suddenly invited her for coffee today?

Zhou Yun felt that she and Jiang Jinghan weren’t that close yet.

”I have to start filming soon, and I’m a bit tired right now. I want to nap for a while.” Zhou Yun politely declined, ”Maybe another time?”

Jiang Jinghan looked surprised, as if she didn’t expect to be refused.

”Alright.” She gave a resigned smile, ”Sorry for bothering you.”

”It’s nothing.” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m actually happy you invited me for coffee, but I have a shoot coming up, and I need to be in my best state for it.”

Jiang Jinghan nodded and said, ”You truly deserve to be called a Movie Queen. Your attitude towards acting is something everyone should learn from.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”You’re flattering me, that’s too much.”

After seeing Jiang Jinghan off, Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue exchanged glances.

”Why do you think she suddenly invited me for coffee?” Zhou Yun asked Zheng Xiaojue.

Zheng Xiaojue was equally puzzled, shook her head, and said, ”I don’t know either.”

Zhou Yun said, ”It feels like she didn’t have anything important to tell me.”

”Maybe she just wanted to make a gesture of goodwill?” Zheng Xiaojue guessed.

Zhou Yun remarked, ”Well, maybe, but regardless of her intentions, I can’t be sure. Let’s not think about it.”

Zhou Yun had a scene scheduled soon.

This particular scene was with Zou Kai.

Zou Kai played a male assassin who once had a romantic past with her. They meet while Zhou Yun is on the run, and Zou Kai saves her once. Just as old feelings begin to rekindle, Zhou Yun discovers Zou Kai is actually out to hunt her, and he secretly informed the organization pursuing her of her location for a reward.

The scene Zhou Yun and Zou Kai were filming later involved them staying in his safe house.

This type of scene was Wen Bing’s specialty.

Zhou Yun took a brief nap to recharge and headed to the set.

The safe house was constructed inside the studio.

Wen Bing was busy adjusting the setup with the art director and others.

Zhou Yun bumped into Zou Kai.

Zou Kai was sitting on his chair reading the script.

Jiang Jinghan was sitting in a corner, occasionally glancing toward Zou Kai.

Zhou Yun and her exchanged looks, Jiang Jinghan smiled at her, and Zhou Yun returned the smile.

After Wen Bing finished reviewing the stage, he came out and called Zou Kai over to discuss the scene together.

”In this scene, Zou Kai, you’re leading the pace. I don’t need to elaborate much, but I have only one request. You and Xiao Yun are old lovers who haven’t seen each other in a long time. You’re here for the reward money, but upon seeing Xiao Yun again, you realize your feelings for her aren’t gone, and you’re emotionally struggling—but you have to keep this struggle hidden from Xiao Yun entirely. Do you understand what I mean?” Wen Bing said.

Zou Kai nodded and said with great confidence, ”Leave it to me, this scene isn’t hard to perform; it’s within my control.”

”Good.” Wen Bing nodded.

He then turned to Zhou Yun and said, ”You don’t need to plan anything; just react naturally to Zou Kai’s acting.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Rehearsal began.

Zou Kai was indeed remarkable. He quickly got into character, and his deep, emotional gaze almost made Zhou Yun lose focus.

”Sorry.” Zhou Yun called for a pause herself, ”I lost concentration.”

Around her, people looked curiously.

It was rare for Zhou Yun to make a mistake in her performance.

Zou Kai kindly said, ”It’s okay, let’s start over.”

Zhou Yun lowered her head, clearing her mind of the online discussions about Zou Kai and set aside all impressions.

Now, they were just co-actors. No matter what he did before, she had to forget that and enter the world of the characters.

This time, Zhou Yun smoothly followed through with the scene alongside Zou Kai.

Wen Bing came to guide them again, ”Zou Kai, earlier when you walked behind Zhou Yun, I want you to encircle her with both hands, leaving her nowhere to escape. You need to be more assertive.”

Zou Kai nodded, ”No problem.”

”You’re okay with this?” Wen Bing asked Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun shrugged helplessly, ”Even if I’m not, it’s not like you’d shoot it differently.”

”I knew you’d be okay.” Wen Bing patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder.

During the second take, when Zou Kai put his hands on Zhou Yun’s waist, pressing close to her, Zhou Yun felt uneasy.

Zou Kai noticed.

He softly said, ”Don’t worry, I won’t touch you.”

Yet Zhou Yun felt no reassurance from his words.
