Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1263: Chapter 678: The Annoying Couple

The little girl from the makeup team is named Liu Xiaoyun.

After being scolded by Jiang Jinghan, Liu Xiaoyun ran to the corner and had a big cry.

Many staff members went to comfort her.

Zheng Xiaojue was among them.

Only then did Zheng Xiaojue realize that this usually quiet girl was quite popular in the crew. Almost all the staff came to comfort her.

”Jiang Jinghan is just a shrew. Don’t take her words to heart, okay?”

”Yeah, look at what she’s done before. She’s so afraid of Zou Kai being snatched away that she keeps a hostile eye on any woman who appears around him.”

Liu Xiaoyun’s eyes were red with anger.

She said indignantly, ”How can she accuse me without any evidence? I never had the intention she accused me of.”

”That’s because you’re good looking, and she feels threatened. If I were doing her makeup, do you think she’d feel the same threat?”

Zheng Xiaojue was somewhat shocked by these words.

This person genuinely cared for Liu Xiaoyun, even sacrificing herself to console her.

Though Zheng Xiaojue eavesdropped for quite a while, she didn’t hear anything substantial, just a lot of complaints and dissatisfaction about Jiang Jinghan from everyone.

She never expected Jiang Jinghan to become so unpopular, almost without anyone liking her after just a few days.

But then again, Jiang Jinghan was never particularly likable.

Despite Zou Kai’s flawed personality, he came to the crew to act, working toward the same goal as everyone else, contributing to the creation of the film.

And what about Jiang Jinghan?

Her only connection to the film was her marital relationship with one of its actors.

In this large crew, she’s the only one loitering around the set creating trouble.

Who would be happy to see her?

Yet, everyone has their own duties to attend to, and no one has time to constantly comfort Liu Xiaoyun.

Once others left, Zheng Xiaojue stepped forward and casually asked, ”Are you okay?”

Liu Xiaoyun looked at Zheng Xiaojue in surprise, not expecting her to offer comfort.

”Xiaoju.”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I happened to hear Jiang Jinghan scolding you earlier, but didn’t catch everything. What happened that she bullied you like that?”

Liu Xiaoyun’s eyes reddened again.

She said with grievance, ”I accidentally dropped a powder on Zou Kai while doing his makeup and reached to pick it up, only for her to see and accuse me of seducing him.”

”What? Just because of this?” Zheng Xiaojue asked.

Liu Xiaoyun nodded and said, ”Xiaoju, do you think I’m that kind of person?”

”Of course not,” replied Zheng Xiaojue.

Liu Xiaoyun said indignantly, ”If Jiang Jinghan is so concerned, maybe Zou Kai’s contract should stipulate no female makeup artists. I don’t want to do his makeup anyway.”

Hearing this, Zheng Xiaojue patted Liu Xiaoyun on the shoulder with a smile.

”Let’s not say things in anger.”

Liu Xiaoyun sighed wistfully and said, ”I just feel like we workers have no rights. We have to endure such bullying silently.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”Xiaoyun, don’t be too down. Why be upset for something like this? Let me buy you a coffee, what would you like?”

Liu Xiaoyun asked, ”Really? It’s not good for you to spend money like this.”

”It’s okay, I can afford a coffee.”

Liu Xiaoyun felt especially embarrassed, ”Thank you so much, Xiaoju.”

”No need to be so formal, you’ve helped out a lot before.”

Actually, both Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Xiaoyun know that Zhou Yun rarely needed Liu Xiaoyun’s help as more experienced makeup artists usually handled Zhou Yun’s makeup.

Zheng Xiaojue’s comment was merely an excuse.

They both understood.

Zheng Xiaojue took Liu Xiaoyun to a nearby coffee shop outside the filming set.

It was about a fifteen-minute walk.

During these fifteen minutes, like a detective, Zheng Xiaojue unintentionally learned about Liu Xiaoyun’s boyfriend status, dating preferences, and views on love.

Simply put, Liu Xiaoyun is just an ordinary girl. She couldn’t concentrate on her studies during junior high, so she later learned makeup and entered this field. Luckier than others, she was recommended by her teacher to a makeup studio catering specifically to film crews due to her skills during school, which led her to the world of film makeup.
