Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1270: Chapter 680: Haute Couture 2

”Know what?” Zhou Yun countered.

She really didn’t see how anything was related to Jiang Jinghan not coming to the set to oversee Zou Kai.

Zou Kai said, ”Liu Xiaoyun’s boyfriend posted on Weibo accusing us.”

”That, I know, but Sister Yeng told me it’s already resolved?”

Zou Kai snorted twice, seemingly not very satisfied.

”Resolved, yes, but it cost us a pretty penny. If she hadn’t caused me such trouble, it wouldn’t have come to this.” Zou Kai’s words were full of resentment towards Jiang Jinghan.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect Zou Kai to have this attitude.

The relationship between this couple left her speechless.

Zhou Yun thought, no matter how bad Jiang Jinghan is, Zou Kai has no right to criticize her.

To Jiang Jinghan, all her crazy and puzzling actions stem from the anxiety Zou Kai inflicted on her.

Zhou Yun occasionally recalled Jiang Jinghan coming to her dressing room and the things she had said.

From this day on, Jiang Jinghan never appeared on set again.

For the rest of the crew, it was a blessing in disguise.

Acting with Zou Kai still made Zhou Yun uncomfortable.

It was her first time facing an actor she extremely disliked, and she had to adjust her mindset to continue acting.

Fortunately, Zou Kai hadn’t tried to ingratiate himself in other ways.

If Zou Kai had really developed inappropriate feelings for her, said things he shouldn’t, or done things he shouldn’t, breaking down that invisible barrier, she wouldn’t be able to pretend to be unaware.

Zhou Yun had privately discussed this matter with Wen Bing.

About her concerns, Wen Bing said, ”Don’t worry, Zou Kai is self-aware. Look at the women rumored to be involved with him before, all newcomers or ordinary people; he wouldn’t dare target a big celebrity like you.”

After hearing Wen Bing, Zhou Yun felt Zou Kai was even more disgraceful.

He was the epitome of a calculating person.

A few days later, Zhou Yun was about to take a leave from the crew.

She needed to return to attend the Qingmu Award.

Wen Bing also got a nomination, but he wasn’t attending this time.

Wen Bing said, ”If I do win, you can accept the award for me.”

Zhou Yun agreed with a smile.

On the flight back, Zhou Yun unexpectedly ran into Wen Xi.

Wen Xi had just shot an endorsement ad here earlier.

”I thought you were filming, didn’t reach out. What a coincidence! You’re heading home too?” Wen Xi asked.

Zhou Yun nodded.

”Yes, going back for the Qingmu Award.”

”Wow, congratulations!” Wen Xi congratulated her. ”How’s your finger injury? Has it healed?”

”It doesn’t hurt anymore, but the wound still looks scary.” Zhou Yun’s nail on that finger hadn’t grown back yet.

Wen Xi said, ”Next time you’re filming, be more careful. Don’t overdo it. I saw a program on the movie channel talking about your intense filming—don’t risk yourself.”

”No, that’s too exaggerated. This injury was unexpected; usually, our safety measures are pretty thorough.”

”Really?”

”Yes.”

Wen Xi nodded, ”Alright, but either way, take care of yourself. Actresses differ from actors; injuries leaving scars can affect your acting career.”

That’s true.

Wen Xi cared about Zhou Yun, which prompted such advice.

”I know, thanks, I’ll take care.” Zhou Yun smiled.

With Wen Xi around, the long flight wasn’t dull.

Zhou Yun and Wen Xi occasionally chatted, sharing their reading lists and favorite films.

Both were interested in literature and film art, not just because they were in this industry, and had plenty of topics to discuss.

Touchdown in Shanghai, Zhou Yun and Wen Xi parted ways.

Both had fans who had gotten wind of their schedule and come to the airport; staying together would likely cause trouble.

Many media reporters were waiting at the airport, eager for Zhou Yun’s appearance.

She’d been out filming abroad for quite some time, and hadn’t been seen recently; major entertainment media outlets were eagerly awaiting updates on Zhou Yun.

Surrounded by reporters at the airport, Zhou Yun understood their enthusiasm and selectively answered a few questions as she walked.
