Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1295: Chapter 688: Party and Socializing_3

Zhou Lan laughed.

”You really have a bit of an open-minded aura now, it’s really good.”

She squeezed Wang Jing’s palm, ”Always remember one thing, for you, apart from acting, nothing else is important. There’s nothing you can’t achieve. You just need to act well, everything else isn’t that important. For those less important things, I’ll help you, the studio will help you, the company will help you.”

Wang Jing smiled.

”Thank you, Sister Lan.”

”Let’s not say these courteous words between us. Work hard, strive to come with a Best Actress nomination at the next Qingmu Award.”

”Hmm.” Wang Jing nodded.

Wang Jing also held high expectations in her heart.

...

Early the next morning, Zhou Yun had breakfast with Song Chi and then sent him off.

Song Chi took an early morning train back for filming.

After Zhou Yun sent him off, she changed clothes and was also preparing to go out.

She had an appointment at ten in the morning to meet with Li Rui.

Zhou Lan also accompanied her.

After all, Zhou Yun was planning to use her money to invest in Li Rui’s film.

Zhou Lan wasn’t at ease and wanted to help Zhou Yun review it.

Li Rui is a very aggressive young man.

How should I put it?

He’s very angry.

This anger doesn’t stem from any specific reason but is a trait akin to personality, completely ingrained in him.

When Zhou Yun met with Li Rui, Li Rui seemed to be trying to hide this fact but wasn’t very successful.

Zhou Yun already knew Li Rui was somewhat extreme and radical, having realized this during previous interactions with him.

However, Zhou Yun was quite open-minded about this, not paying much mind.

She always believed that talented people, real professionals, more or less have some extreme traits in their personalities.

In fact, not to mention talented individuals, even ordinary people have some degree of extremity in their personality.

During the conversation with Li Rui, Li Rui almost never looked directly at them.

Of course, he wasn’t a socially anxious person; he expressed himself fluently and spoke well.

When talking about the script ”Above the Dust,” he became even more talkative.

He said, ”I’ve always wanted to make a story like this, a very ordinary one. Nowadays, films are filled with legendary elements—heroes or extraordinary stories—but the things, the emotions in our everyday lives are seldom seen.”

Zhou Lan sat upright, consistently scrutinizing him with a critical attitude.

Strictly speaking, Zhou Yun was introduced to him by her.

However, she wasn’t familiar with him either, as he was recommended by her friend.

Her friend spoke highly of the script ”Above the Dust.”

Zhou Lan herself read it and admitted it was indeed a rare good script, talking about life, death, and philosophy.

But putting all this aside, Zhou Lan felt obligated to screen Li Rui as a person.

She didn’t want to introduce an unreliable person to Zhou Yun; if he turned out to be a ticking time bomb, it would be hard to shirk responsibility.

Li Rui said, ”Actually, many companies have thought about buying my script, but I don’t accept letting others direct this script. This story has to be filmed by me.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Why?”

”No reason.” Li Rui said very calmly.

This answer could easily anger someone.

Zhou Yun didn’t mind and said, ”It is indeed a good script, and honestly, I like it. I’m willing to help you get this script filmed, but there’s one problem. Who do you plan to cast?”

”Hmm?” Li Rui was taken aback.

Zhou Yun said, ”Have you considered if you’re going to direct it, who would star in it?”

Li Rui’s face showed a trace of uncertainty.

He seemed not to have considered this question.

Zhou Yun added, ”Besides that, have you thought about the cinematographer, lighting technician, etc.?”

Li Rui said excitedly, ”I’ve thought about it, but because I have no investment, I haven’t found anyone to help me.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Do you have any potential candidates in mind?”

Li Rui said, ”I want Zhang Hongyu and Song Chi to act in this movie.”

Zhou Yun’s heart skipped a beat.

Zhou Lan also widened her eyes in shock.

Her first instinct was: You really dare to dream.

Zhou Yun had already asked Song Chi’s thoughts; having him act in this film seemed unlikely. She said, ”What if you can’t get those two?”

Li Rui looked at her in surprise, feeling astonished by Zhou Yun’s reaction.

”If you’re investing, won’t Song Chi act?”

At that moment, Zhou Yun felt a bit offended.

After a two-second silence, she said, ”We are two separate people. My investment doesn’t mean he’ll act.”

”For such a good script, you don’t plan to invite him?” Li Rui, shocked, widened his eyes as if he couldn’t comprehend Zhou Yun’s thinking.
