Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1280: Chapter 683: Tender Moments (3)

Zhou Lan thought for a moment and said, ”Actually, there’s a way to alleviate the financial pressure on Song Chi’s Company?”

”Looking for new investors? Song Chi doesn’t lack investors, it’s just that the terms can’t be agreed upon. Song Chi wants 100% control over the company and doesn’t want others to interfere with the internal affairs of the company.”

”That’s not what I mean. I’m saying that Song Chi’s Company has signed up so many directors and actors and has production experience. Why doesn’t Song Chi’s Company take on the production of platform-original dramas?” Zhou Lan said, ”Right now, several major video platforms are creating high-quality content. If Song Chi is willing, he could take on a few productions, get money from the platforms, and alleviate some pressure. Additionally, Song Chi could pre-sell a few of his dramas to platforms, getting them to pay part of the deposit in advance.”

Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll talk to Song Chi about it, but I think Wu Chengbao and Song Chi must have tried these methods.”

”When necessary, you have to give up a little profit,” Zhou Lan said, ”You can’t just hold out. Song Chi isn’t a god. Running continuously 24 hours a day—if he takes on endorsements for some fast-moving consumer brands, it will greatly affect his public image.”

Zhou Yun: ”Sigh.”

Zhou Lan: ”As for ’Mother,’ you could reach out to Xu Caiqin. She’s now working as a film buyer in the United States, and she should have many channels and contacts to help you promote ’Mother.’”

Zhou Yun nodded.

She kept it in mind and decided to send Xu Caiqin a message later.

However, overseas sales and this bit of copyright income might be like a drop in the bucket for Song Chi’s Company. The most critical thing is for the few dramas his company is producing to be sold and aired quickly to get the return payments, so they can truly recover.

That night, Zhou Yun and the others stayed until around eleven o’clock at night before dispersing.

Zhou Yun went home with Song Chi.

Zhou Yun went to shower first. When she came out, she found that Song Chi had already fallen asleep on the sofa.

His expression at that moment was particularly cute.

Zhou Yun couldn’t help but smile.

Song Chi seemed to sense something and suddenly opened his eyes.

”Hmm? You’re done with your shower?” Song Chi’s eyes softened when he saw Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”You should go too. You look so tired that you can barely keep your eyes open. Shower and then sleep.”

Song Chi sat up from the sofa.

He said, ”You go to sleep first; you don’t have to wait for me.”

Zhou Yun said, ”It’s okay, I’ll read a book for a while.”

Song Chi: ”I’ll be quick then.”

It had been a long time since the two of them slept on the same bed. Tonight was a rare chance to go home together.

However, both were very tired. That night, they did nothing, just held each other and fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, it suddenly started raining.

The rain pattered down, and at around five in the morning, Zhou Yun woke up to the sound of the rain and opened her eyes.

The room was very dark.

Song Chi’s breathing rose and fell evenly.

His arm was still around her.

Zhou Yun cherished this moment of warmth.

Most of the time, she slept alone in a hotel, different hotels, unfamiliar beds.

She often missed Song Chi, especially when sleeping alone.

While filming in a foreign country, even though everyone in the crew was familiar, there were always moments of loneliness and inescapable solitude.

In those moments, Zhou Yun would especially miss Song Chi.

Dependence might seem an ungracious act, but everyone has moments when they want to rely on someone.

Vulnerability is a moment everyone is destined to face in life.

Zhou Yun did not want to hide her vulnerability.

Zhou Yun hugged Song Chi.

Song Chi did not wake up, but grunted instinctively.

He hugged Zhou Yun, his body warm.

Zhou Yun felt a kind of peace at this moment, mingling with the pattering rain, pulling her away from all trivial and complex matters.

Song Chi slept until eight in the morning before waking.

Zhou Yun was already having breakfast in the dining room.

If not for the smell, Song Chi wouldn’t have woken so early.

”Did you heat up the milk?”

Song Chi came out of the room, his eyes drowsy, his hair sticking up.

Zhou Yun smiled at him, nodded, and said, ”Yes.”

Song Chi: ”No wonder the milk smells so good—I was wondering where it was from, smelling so fragrant.”

Zhou Yun: ”I personally heated the milk—unique in all the world.”

”Of course.” Song Chi walked over and caressed Zhou Yun’s face, ”I’ll brush my teeth real quick.”

”Hurry up, or there’ll be none left if you’re slow.”

”Okay.” Song Chi laughed.

The rain had stopped.

Song Chi washed his face, and the drowsiness finally faded.

He came out and sat at the dining table.

”When are you leaving later?”

”I have rehearsal at one in the afternoon, no other work besides that.” Zhou Yun asked, ”What about you?”

”My rehearsal is at two in the afternoon,” Song Chi said, ”but I need to go to the company in the morning for a meeting.”

”So busy?” Zhou Yun couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.
