Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1252: Chapter 674: She Didn’t Deceive Herself (2)

”Really? He actually cares that much?”

”Yeah,” Yuk Chu said, ”He’s been here several times, always coming around even when there’s nothing going on.”

”I hadn’t heard about that before.”

”He doesn’t say much, but he really treats Yin Zhou like a brother. Yin Zhou told me that Gu Huaichun even offered him money, thinking Yin Zhou didn’t have enough to spend. When Yin Zhou refused, Gu Huaichun got upset, thinking Yin Zhou didn’t see him as a friend.”

”That’s just how Gu Huaichun is, straightforward.”

”I’m resting at home now, watching a lot of movies. I watched ’Sunny Sisters’ the other day, and I really think I’m quite lucky. Yin Zhou and I are fortunate to have met such wonderful friends.”

”That’s a bit cheesy, Yuk Chu.” Zhou Yun laughed.

”Cheesy or not, what else can I do?” Yuk Chu said, ”Anyway, we’re just talking on the phone now, not face to face, so I find it easier to say thank you. I’ve always been afraid saying thank you would make us seem distant, but I’m really grateful to you, Xiao Yun. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be so lucky to sign with you and Zhou Lan’s studio. I know many actors are eager to sign with you.”

”We’ll be friends for life, so I’m willing to do anything good for you.”

”Me too.”

The phone call ended there.

After the call, Zhou Yun left the room and asked Zheng Xiaojue, who was sitting on the sofa outside, ”Did you have dinner?”

Zheng Xiaojue shook her head and said, ”No, Sister Xiao Yun, are you hungry?”

”Yeah.” Zhou Yun nodded. ”Let’s go out to eat something.”

”Sure.”

Zhou Yun went outside with Zheng Xiaojue to find a restaurant to eat.

It was already night, with the night sky falling.

Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, your finger injury is quite serious. Shouldn’t you rest for a few days?”

Zhou Yun moved her injured finger and said, ”If I don’t move it, it doesn’t hurt that much.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”Huh? You still plan to continue filming?”

”I’ll talk to Wen Bing tomorrow and see if he’s willing to adjust the shooting schedule.” Zhou Yun said, ”My finger won’t heal quickly, and I can’t delay filming just because of it.”

”Director Wen has already called Zou Kai to come and fill in temporarily.”

Zou Kai is another actor who plays a very important role in the film.

Zou Kai was originally scheduled to come in the following month, but with Zhou Yun’s sudden injury, Zeng Yeng and Wen Bing discussed calling any actor who can come early for filming first.

When contacted, Zou Kai didn’t hesitate and came right away.

”Alright,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’ll talk to him. I can’t shoot action scenes now, but I can still do other scenes. We just need to avoid filming my injured finger.”

Zheng Xiaojue frowned at Zhou Yun, hesitant to speak.

”What’s up?” Zhou Yun asked, smiling at Zheng Xiaojue.

”Sister Xiao Yun, you’re working too hard. We don’t need to push ourselves like this.” Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Someone’s filling in, we can rest for a few days and let your finger heal, can’t we?”

”I...” Zhou Yun wanted to explain herself, but wasn’t sure what to say.

Honestly, she didn’t want to cause any trouble for the crew; if she could film, she would.

But what Zheng Xiaojue said wasn’t wrong either.

She didn’t actually need to rush things.

After dinner, Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue strolled back to the hotel.

The night breeze was tender, feeling comfortable on the skin.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue returned to the hotel, where she encountered Wen Bing and Liu Gang at her room door.

”Director Wen, Brother Gang.” Zhou Yun said, surprised to see them, ”Why are you here?”

Wen Bing said, ”We just wrapped up today’s shoot and came to check on you.”

Zhou Yun showed them her finger wrapped in a protective brace and smiled, ”It’s been treated, not a big deal. Sorry, today’s filming was delayed a lot because of me, right?”

Wen Bing: ”Yes, it was a bit chaotic, but everyone is worried about you.”

”It’s nothing too serious, just a flipped nail.” Zhou Yun said.

Suddenly, Liu Gang bowed apologetically to Zhou Yun, ”Xiao Yun, I’m terribly sorry. My mistake caused your injury.”

”Hey? Brother Gang, don’t say that. It was partly my fault too.” Zhou Yun said, ”It’s because my arm lost strength, and I raised it too slowly, resulting in this accident. Besides, injuries during action scenes happen all the time.”
