Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1266: Chapter 679: As Expected

Zou Kai took a deep breath and led Jiang Jinghan aside. After saying something to her, Jiang Jinghan eventually went to the corner.

Zou Kai returned, apologizing to Zhou Yun: ”Sorry, Jinghan has been a bit sensitive lately.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Yun didn’t dwell on the topic, saying, ”Let’s continue.”

Zou Kai nodded.

Midway through, it was unclear when Wen Bing arrived to observe their rehearsal, silently watching for quite a while.

The complexity of this scene lay in the staging.

Zhou Yun and Zou Kai engaged in an intense fight, leaving the safe house in disarray.

If a mistake occurred during filming, the safe house had to be reset; it couldn’t simply be retaken.

The two went through the actions and positions twice, ensuring a few key transition points.

Only then did Wen Bing say, ”Don’t worry too much about hitting exact marks; whatever happens, just keep going, and I’ll use the camera to catch you.”

Wen Bing’s words gave Zhou Yun and Zou Kai a significant sense of security.

Actors like Zhou Yun and Zou Kai, who act with depth and detail, need a skilled director who can capture this to truly showcase their charm.

The presentation of this scene on camera was rapid and fast-paced, so there was almost no fixed shot allowing the actors to fully showcase their performances.

The director had to capture the details of their performance amidst their fight.

Wen Bing was a director noted for capturing actors’ details — a reputation built after ”Life.”

During the actual filming, the scene was filled with issues.

Actors, fully immersed in their roles, would lose control when they were deeply invested.

Once, particularly awkwardly, Zhou Yun lost her footing mid-scene and nearly fell headlong, but Zou Kai managed to grab her arm in time, preventing her head from hitting the ground.

It was a close call.

Shooting for a day produced plenty of usable footage, though none of it was cohesive.

The same scene needed to be shot again tomorrow.

Zhou Yun sat in the break room, removing her makeup.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Jinghan knocked on the door, calling out Xiao Yun’s name.

Zhou Yun looked at Zheng Xiaojue in confusion, who returned her look with the same puzzled expression, both wondering, ”Why is she here?”

It was Liu Yun who eventually opened the door.

Jiang Jinghan held a bag in her hand and said, ”Xiao Yun, I made some cookies myself. Please try them.”

Zhou Yun, halfway through removing her makeup, replied, ”Thanks, Jinghan, sorry I’m in the middle of removing makeup.”

Jiang Jinghan handed the bag with cookies to Liu Yun, stepping in casually, ”It’s okay, continue. I was just bored, so I thought to drop by.”

Zhou Yun smiled lightly.

Zheng Xiaojue continued helping Zhou Yun with her makeup removal.

Casually, Jiang Jinghan asked, ”By the way, Xiao Yun, when you were filming in Australia, did Song Chi not visit you?”

”He’s filming another movie, it ran over schedule, so he’s still working on it.” Zhou Yun replied, ”Plus, he has his own company and lots to handle; I don’t really want him to come.”

”I really envy you, having your own career and not being reliant on a man.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Jinghan, why don’t you work?”

Jiang Jinghan sighed, ”I want to work, but right after college, I married Zou Kai, had a child, never had the chance to find the right time for work. Now, it’s really hard to find something suitable.”

Only then did Zhou Yun realize Jiang Jinghan married Zou Kai right after graduating from college.

”I don’t have much. I have no personal career or social circle, just Zou Kai. So no matter what, I can’t lose him.” Jiang Jinghan smiled, ”Someone like you with a successful career probably doesn’t understand my situation, right?”

Jiang Jinghan’s words left Zhou Yun at a loss for how to respond.

Whatever answer might be a trap.

What kind of answer was Jiang Jinghan hoping to hear?

Zhou Yun thought Jiang Jinghan couldn’t possibly be expressing regret over marrying right after graduation.

At the end of the day, Jiang Jinghan was worried about her relationship with Zou Kai.

Even though Jiang Jinghan knew the possibility between Zhou Yun and Zou Kai was almost zero, she still couldn’t help worrying, feeling tense, fearing that even a fraction of a percentage might lead to an unexpected rival who Zou Kai might just walk away for.
