Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 645: Chapter 473: Under the Gaze of All

To be fair, Xu Siyao really is beautiful, otherwise she wouldn’t have caught He Yong’s attention in the first place.

She has a peach-like face, bright pupils, and well-defined features.

Perhaps compared to Zhou Yun’s face, hers lacks a strong sense of story; as a standard beauty, it doesn’t leave much room for interpretation, which is not advantageous for filmmaking.

However, as a celebrity, her face is definitely up to standard.

Even in the TV drama field, if she manages herself well, she actually has more advantages than Zhou Yun.

Due to previous negative news, Xu Siyao was well-known but not favored by more reputable collaborators, as this would affect the reputation and image of their brand.

Now Xu Siyao is trending towards redemption.

Although not every brand agrees with the reasons for Xu Siyao’s redemption, no one would turn away from money.

With Xu Siyao’s own fame and popularity, if she can turn around her public image, many brands would be willing to collaborate with her.

It doesn’t have to be as a spokesperson, as that requires prestige, works, and a large number of loyal fans.

But Xu Siyao’s fame can be turned into visibility, which can bring attention to the brand.

This is why He Yong has always been reluctant to give up on Xu Siyao.

It’s really not that easy for someone to become as famous as Xu Siyao.

To stand out might just require letting go, but how long can the fame obtained by standing out last?

Regardless of what kind of person Xu Siyao is, or her behavior, by her own efforts, although her reputation became worse with more controversies, her fame has also grown.

She didn’t flash in the pan and get forgotten; instead, she stabilized her footing.

Everyone criticizes her incessantly, and in doing so, she stands unwavering and remains unforgettable.

Xu Siyao herself did not expect the powerful impact of this Weibo post; it was completely unexpected.

That night, after drinking and feeling miserable, she didn’t even remember what crazy things she did, nor why she made that Weibo post.

The next morning when she woke up and saw her own bold action, she was so angry that she stomped her foot, feeling like she had surrendered to Zhou Yun in front of everyone, losing all her dignity.

But the development that followed was completely different from what she imagined.

Almost no one mocked her; instead, many people found her cute.

Although Xu Siyao didn’t understand what they found cute, this result surprised her.

It was an unexpected surprise.

This surprise even made her start to think about others, perhaps, creating such a persona could gain her more affection?

Even if Zhou Yun refuses to forgive her, or even openly expresses dislike towards her, it wouldn’t matter.

Xu Siyao firmly held onto this direction, no matter what Zhou Yun said, she persisted in creating a persona of ”regardless of what Zhou Yun says or does, I still regard Zhou Yun as my idol,” and she would have people support her.

...

In this atmosphere, ”What a Nice Weather” was aired.

When the scenes of Xu Siyao and Zhou Yun ”mutually bashing” each other were broadcasted, contrary to Zhou Lan’s judgment, the episode that was expected to become a classic ”Expert in Bashing” scene, due to Xu Siyao’s previous Weibo post, was promoted by many as ”watching an idiot clumsily express their love for their idol.”

Zhou Lan saw many traces of marketing accounts and paid posters in this.

But she no longer tried to stop this rise in popularity.

On one hand, the netizens had almost reached a consensus, and they were currently in the climax of enjoying the meme, so trying to reduce the heat at this point would just be a waste of money and effort.

On the other hand, from an objective standpoint, this was not a bad thing for Zhou Yun.

Free exposure is nothing to turn down.

At least for this matter, Zhou Yun’s partners all reaped great benefits.

During this vigorous trend, Zhou Yun also welcomed another major awards ceremony, the Huayu Award.

However, this time neither Zhou Yun nor Zhou Lan were as eager to win the award.

Not long ago, having won the best actress award at the Naoki Prize was already enough to sustain her for three to five years.

In comparison, during this period, Wei Ru Xue had been vigorously promoting herself, having done a bunch of interviews.

It’s a shame that Xu Siyao’s Weibo post ruined her chances of garnering the attention of the whole network.

Wei Ru Xue even resented Xu Siyao so much internally that she gritted her teeth.

Yu Yhan, who had drawn ridicule during the nominations phase, has been very low-key lately, hardly making any public appearances.

However, on the evening of the awards ceremony, Yu Yhan still showed up in a gown.

After all, she had received a nomination, so it was necessary for her to attend the ceremony.

But when she appeared on the red carpet, the applause and cheers were scarce, almost nonexistent, making her smile look somewhat bleak.

Zhou Yun and her team walked the red carpet as a drama crew.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi held hands and walked in the middle, facing the intense cheers and shouts from everyone as they walked the red carpet.

This time, actually, Su Yan was also invited to attend the Huayu Award.

But Su Yan declined.

She did not receive a nomination and had been smeared; under these circumstances, why would she accept such a gesture from Huayu Award?

If she went, what would that make her supporters think?

She had quite a few fans who were boycotting this Huayu Award.

The Huayu Award committee even reached out to Song Chi, hoping he would persuade Su Yan to attend together.

Song Chi also declined.

”Every actor hopes to attend the ceremony with a nomination,” he said. ”I can’t invite an actor to sit through the whole event from the audience without being part of it.”

That was his reason.

When he said this, Zhou Yun was standing behind him.

At that moment, she suddenly felt a long-lost thrill.

Sometimes there is no reason why a person likes another, yet at other times, the reasons are crystal clear.

When Zhou Yun fell for Song Chi, she could not clearly say why she liked him.

But sometimes, at certain moments, a word from Song Chi or an action would tell Zhou Yun why she liked him.

Any award needs the support of celebrities, and celebrities need awards to boost their careers; it’s a mutually beneficial process. When this process is unbalanced, it’s no wonder that one party is unwilling to bring any benefits to the other.

That evening, Zhou Yun felt very calm when the presenter for the Best Supporting Actress went on stage, then she felt slightly nervous.

Song Chi asked, ”Want to win the award?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”Nonsense, who doesn’t want to win?”

Song Chi smiled and said, ”This award is definitely yours.”

Zhou Yun nodded, saying, ”I think so too.”

As her words fell, the presenter on stage read out the winner’s name.

”Ke Yong, ’Golden Butterfly’.”
