”No, I don’t want to.”

The speaker was Xu Siyao.

She was wearing a shiny performance outfit, having just finished her guest performance on an online variety show, and was now on her way to the backstage dressing room to change.

Her agent had received instructions from the company to remind Xu Siyao to post a Weibo supporting Zhou Yun, but Xu Siyao rejected the idea without even thinking about it.

The agent said, ”You’re now a fan of Zhou Yun. Supporting her at this time is good for increasing your popularity.”

Xu Siyao rolled her eyes and said, ”I must be crazy to support her. Everyone online is scolding her now. What if I get scolded too after supporting her?”

The agent earnestly advised, ”It’s a certainty that netizens will scold you, but the more people who scold you, the greater your popularity will become.”

”I really don’t want to take the notorious route to fame.” Xu Siyao shook her head.

The agent replied, ”This isn’t the notorious route. You get scolded for supporting Zhou Yun, not because you’ve done something wrong. You can easily clear your name afterwards.”

Xu Siyao continued to shake her head, ”No, at a time like this I need to stay far away from her. Don’t mess things up. What if I get implicated?”

The agent had nothing more to say and could only reply to the company.

In fact, she thought the company’s suggestion was appropriate.

This was the best opportunity for Xu Siyao to make a name for herself. Even if she did get scolded, it wouldn’t matter much.

Once her popularity rises, all she will have to do is issue a neutral apology later, claiming that she was blinded temporarily by her admiration for her idol, and that she will be more thoughtful and cautious in the future. That should clear her name.

Who would keep faulting such a young girl?

After all, she hadn’t committed any substantial wrongdoing.

The agent thought this and felt it was a pity, but seeing Xu Siyao’s expression, she knew it was no use trying to persuade her and let it go.

After the uproar in public opinion continued for two days, Zhou Lan told Zhou Yun that the work they had previously discussed had all been postponed.

Zhou Lan didn’t explain why, but Zhou Yun knew the reason.

Even though the company had issued a statement, public opinion hadn’t shifted in her favor. Internet public opinion is often influenced by whoever sets the narrative, leading many people who are unaware of the full context to follow along. The saying goes that a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth, and rational people are always in the minority.

Partners might still recognize Zhou Yun’s value, but they also had to consider their reputations.

Whether it was show producers or brand sponsors, both tend to avoid trouble in the current environment.

Once an artist becomes a tarnished name, all their work risks going down the drain.

They are being cautious, and Zhou Yun understands.

Her schedule unexpectedly cleared up.

Without work, Zhou Yun just had the show ”After the Scandal” left to shoot.

This show is expected to air by the end of the month, by which time the storm will have passed and the public’s hostility will have reached its peak.

With more free time, Zhou Yun started attending more acting classes at the company.

Zhou Lan breathed a sigh of relief seeing Zhou Yun proactively asking for more acting classes.

Li Yuning took his crew to follow and record at the company.

One day, when Zhou Yun entered the company, she happened to run into Xu Siyao.

Xu Siyao’s agent even actively greeted Zhou Yun, but Xu Siyao herself passed by without a sideways glance, as if she hadn’t seen Zhou Yun at all.

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised, thinking, Isn’t this girl even going to pretend?

There was even a camera filming at that moment.

During the break in the middle of the acting class, Zhou Yun had Zheng Xiaojue order milk tea for the acting teacher and the production staff to drink, and then she went to the restroom.

Just as she was about to leave the stall, she suddenly heard footsteps entering.

”Zhou Yun came to the company again today.”

”Her work has all been canceled recently. She’s been coming to the company for acting classes every day, right? Wasn’t there a drama of hers that was supposed to start filming at the end of the month?”

The two people conversing were both women.

Zhou Yun’s movements paused.

”I wonder whether the thing with Zhao Qin is real or not.”

”It’s fake, right? I know about the program ’Geology Talk’; wasn’t it Zhou Lan who secured that opportunity for her? Zhou Yun wasn’t popular back then.”

”Who knows? But with the current situation being so turbulent, it’s unclear if she’ll be able to weather it. I heard from a colleague in the PR department that they’ve been trying to turn the tide of online public opinion these past few days, but several parties have spent a lot of money trying to use this incident to bring Zhou Yun down.”

”This year our company finally had a female artist make it big. If her career ends like this, then it’s really ’Time Flies’ for us this year.”
