Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 635: Chapter 463: Nothing More to Say

After the show ended, Zhou Yun noticed everyone’s gaze towards her had changed.

Yin Zhou, who was relatively close to her, spoke straightforwardly. When there was no one else around, he gave her a thumbs up and said, ”You were truly the queen of bitches today.”

Zhou Yun responded, ”Don’t laugh at me, okay? I did it to piss off Xu Siyao; I’m so sick of her. Whatever bitchy things she does to me in the future, I’ll do the same back at her.”

Yin Zhou said, ”Anyway, I’ve been confused all day. I’ve never seen you act like this before.”

Zhou Yun herself couldn’t help but laugh.

”I saw you all trying to hold back your laughter throughout the process,” Zhou Yun said.

Yin Zhou replied, ”What else could we do? You were bold enough to do that in front of the cameras.”

”What’s there to be afraid of? If she dares to act on the first of the month, then I dare to act on the fifteenth,” said Zhou Yun. ”Otherwise, she will always use these tactics to annoy you, won’t that bother you?”

Yin Zhou shook his hands and said, ”I’m not bothered. She wouldn’t come to pester me. When has she ever taken the initiative to cue me?”

The reason Xu Siyao behaved this way was actually because she felt Yin Zhou wasn’t famous enough. If she actively cued Yin Zhou, she would divert a lot of attention to him, but in return, she wouldn’t get enough from him.

Why would Xu Siyao keep trying to get close to Zhou Yun and interact with her, even though she knew Zhou Yun disliked it?

Because those were all underlying topics that could bring her attention, buzz, and likewise, could be translated into tangible profits.

Zhou Yun looked down on Xu Siyao in every way.

In fact, He Yong’s judgment wasn’t bad. Xu Siyao, whether in terms of image or acting, was worth nurturing and had good prospects. However, for some reason, Xu Siyao gradually revealed a problematic disposition, and it was unclear whether her character was always like this or if she got influenced by the environment after entering the industry.

Zhou Yun asked Yin Zhou, ”Want to grab dinner together?”

Yin Zhou said, ”Sure, just the two of us?”

”That won’t do. I’m in a relationship now, it’s not appropriate for just a man and a woman. Let me ask someone else,” Zhou Yun said.

Yin Zhou laughed and said, ”Okay, you decide.”

Zhou Yun messaged Song Chi, asking: ”I finished recording the show, are you free tonight? Want to have dinner together?”

Song Chi replied, ”Sure, but I already made plans with Chunlin. Together, do you mind?”

Zhou Yun: ”I don’t mind. Yin Zhou was shooting the show with me, and I called him too.”

Song Chi: ”Have you decided on the place?”

Zhou Yun: ”Not yet.”

Song Chi: ”Then I’ll book it, and I’ll send you the address later.”

Zhou Yun: ”Okay.”

It had been a long time since Zhou Yun had seen Ma Chunlin. The divorce lawyer seemed to be very busy lately, sporting two severe dark circles under his eyes.

Zhou Yun joked, ”Lawyer Ma, have there been a lot of divorces recently?”

Ma Chunlin sighed and said, ”After the New Year, it’s always the peak period for divorce cases. The number of consultations I have each day has doubled.”

”Hard work indeed.”

Ma Chunlin said, ”I’m really just getting by because of the money.”

Zhou Yun replied, ”That’s good, as long as there’s money.”

Suddenly, Yin Zhou piped up from the side, ”Zhou Yun, you’re trending on social media.”

”Ah?” asked Zhou Yun, ”What trend? The live broadcast?”

She was somewhat anticipating this.

Yin Zhou nodded and said, ”Everyone is guessing who that female celebrity you mentioned is. Someone has already leaked the guest list of our episode online. Since there were only three guests, everyone guessed that you’re talking about Xu Siyao.”

Zhou Yun exclaimed, ”Well, that can’t be blamed on me. I didn’t say it; everyone guessed it themselves, their eyes are sharp.”

Song Chi asked, ”Xu Siyao?”

”That’s right,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”You have no idea how annoying she was today.”

”What happened?”

Zhou Yun recounted the incident to Song Chi.

Hearing the whole story, Song Chi frowned and said, ”She’s being so blatantly arrogant now? It’s been so long since I’ve heard of anyone being that entitled.”

”That’s what I’m saying, it’s mind-boggling,” Zhou Yun agreed.

In this era of constant surveillance and cameras everywhere, even those stars who pride themselves on their superiority have started to behave, not daring to be overtly arrogant.

Xu Siyao looking for trouble just before the show started airing would surely attract public criticism once word got out.

”I really don’t understand why Xu Siyao would do that,” Song Chi said.

At that moment, Yin Zhou suddenly suggested, ”Maybe it’s because she only found out on-site that your role was the Ice Queen?”

Song Chi asked, ”What’s her role?”

”Witch,” Yin Zhou said.

Understanding dawned on Song Chi, who nodded, ”She didn’t want to be overshadowed by you.”

”When the show crew initially told her to play the Witch, she had no objections. That was a challenge directed at me, so all the more reason I can’t tolerate her,” Zhou Yun said.

”Right now, Xu Siyao is on the hot seat, everyone is talking about this,” Yin Zhou said.

”I’ll just wait to see if Xu Siyao responds. If she doesn’t, then I’ll also stay quiet.”

Song Chi said, ”If she has any sense, she won’t respond and will let the buzz die down naturally.”

”If she had any sense, she wouldn’t be repeatedly provoking me,” Zhou Yun said sternly, ”Even He Yong hasn’t called me up till now, which shows how silly her actions were.”

Normally, He Yong would have called by now.

People from the same company should at least appear harmonious on the surface.

Damaging that harmony, would not only look bad for the company’s image but for her image as well, and so on.

That’s the sort of thing He Yong would say.

Song Chi was somewhat surprised, asking, ”He Yong hasn’t called you? I thought he would have called you by now.”

”Nope, nothing yet.”

Just as she finished speaking, Zhou Yun’s phone began to ring.

Speak of the devil...

Zhou Yun said, ”He’s calling now.”

She stood up, ”I’ll go outside to take the call.”

Song Chi nodded.

Zhou Yun found a secluded corner outside the private room and answered the call.

”President He, let me be clear, pleading on her behalf won’t work.”

He Yong probably had a lot of things to say, but Zhou Yun’s remark stopped him in his tracks.

”Xiao Yun, I know, she really mishandled the situation, thinking too highly of herself.”

”President He, it’s not that she thinks too highly of herself, it’s that she thinks too little of others,” Zhou Yun retorted coldly, ”Your repeated indulgence will only lead her down a narrower path.”

He Yong sighed, ”If everyone were as reasonable as you, Xiao Yun, then we could just lie back and count our money. But some people just lack common sense and need our guidance.”

”Have you been guiding her?” Zhou Yun asked bluntly.

He Yong was at a loss for words, silent for a long time.
