Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 601: Chapter 451: Another Game of Strategy (Part 4)

Song Chi said, ”I’ll be taking on fewer projects that require months of filming in the future.”

Long television series that span dozens of episodes require at least three months to shoot.

”But aren’t most projects in the market of this scale now?” After all, television series are sold by the number of episodes.

Song Chi said, ”Some projects that my company is preparing are shorter series, usually around twelve to sixteen episodes. Plus, I’m going to shift my focus to filming movies in the future.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”You should have shifted your focus to films long ago.”

”Couldn’t help it, there are some favors that I need to return,” Song Chi said with a smile.

Zhou Yun understood what Song Chi meant.

She said, ”Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.”

Song Chi said, ”I will.”

Zhou Yun said, ”You can’t possibly act in all the projects you’re preparing, can you?”

”Even if I wanted to, I can’t be everywhere at once,” Song Chi said with a wry smile, ”Luckily, I’ve made quite a few friends over the years. Don’t worry, I should be able to use my clout to invite some friends to support the first few shows. But if the initial shows don’t do well, my face won’t sell anymore.”

”No worries, if others won’t buy it, I will,” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m going to become more and more popular.”

Song Chi laughed and said, ”With a Movie Queen backing me, I certainly feel more confident.”

Zhou Yun said, ”About that project you sent me that suits me, I’ll talk to my company about it. But there’s a role in it that I think is quite suitable for another actor that Sister Lan manages, named Wang Jing. If you haven’t cast the role yet, maybe you could consider her?”

Song Chi nodded and said, ”We haven’t settled on the cast yet, so since you think she’s suitable, let’s invite her along.”

”Okay,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”then I’ll mention it to Sister Lan.”

...

With Zhou Lan’s help, they switched hotels that evening.

After making the call, Zhou Lan looked around at the two of them and asked, ”Do you plan to stay in one room or book two?”

Zhou Yun subconsciously answered, ”Two rooms.”

Song Chi gave her a look.

Fearing that Song Chi might slip up, Zhou Yun said to Zhou Lan, ”But don’t you need to book one for yourself as well?”

The change of topic was awkward and forced.

Zhou Yun knew her transition was abrupt and awkward, but it couldn’t be helped.

Sure enough, Zhou Lan gave Zhou Yun a look that said, ”Don’t think I don’t know what you’re hiding.”

Zhou Yun could only lift her chin and pretend to be clueless.

Zhang Cong came to pick them up in his car.

Zhang Cong looked surprised upon learning that Song Chi had suddenly changed hotels, ”Ah? But aren’t all your clothes still at the original hotel?”

Zhou Lan said, ”Don’t worry, Brother Chi is only staying at the new place for a few days before going back.”

Zhang Cong asked, ”Then should I go back later and bring a couple of sets of clothes?”

Song Chi hummed in agreement.

Suddenly, Zhou Yun remembered that all her luggage was also at the previous hotel.

She had no choice but to look towards the ”understanding” Zhou Lan with a helpless expression.

Zhou Lan: ”...”

At the new hotel, Zhang Cong and Zhou Lan had to return to the original hotel with their room cards to fetch things for these two ”ancestors.”

Once they arrived at the original hotel, they saw quite a scene—a crowd of people loitering at the entrance, with two security guards stationed by the hotel.

To those professional entertainment reporters, both Zhou Lan and Zhang Cong were familiar faces. If they waltzed right in, they would definitely be recognized.

So, against their wishes, they had to go through the staff entrance at the back.

After collecting the items and reconvening, Zhou Lan placed the stuff in Zhang Cong’s car and said, ”You go ahead and deliver it; don’t wait for me. I’ll go say hi to the reporters, so they don’t waste their night here.”

Zhang Cong nodded and drove off.

Zhou Lan told Zhang Cong not to wait because she didn’t want to be followed.

After Zhang Cong’s car left, Zhou Lan leisurely approached the hotel entrance and told the reporters who had been waiting that they could go home.

It was easy to imagine how frustrated the reporters, who had been waiting for hours, felt upon hearing this news.

Zhou Lan directly created a WeChat group and said, ”Everyone scan the code to join the group. You’ve also worked hard today, so I’ll send you some red envelopes to buy yourselves a cup of milk tea to warm up. The weather is getting cold; don’t waste your time squatting here.”

One reporter said, ”Sister Lan, at least have Zhou Yun make an appearance so we can get some shots to show for our efforts.”

Zhou Lan said with a smile, ”Cut the act; which one of your media companies hasn’t made some ad revenue today? You’ve got your share of traffic!”
