This question, Zhou Yun has answered before.

People had asked before, and she had answered it, one time, two times, and it became a standard response.

Why did you choose this profession?

Because I’m pretty, it would be such a pity not to be in this line of work.

Because I like acting.

Because I have such a dream.

...

Zhou Yun lowered her head, smiled, and after thinking for a bit, said, ”To tell you the truth, it was because I couldn’t find a suitable job at that time, and something happened that I needed a sum of money urgently, and just then someone noticed me and gave me the opportunity to enter this profession.”

This was an answer she had never given before.

Yet, it was the one closest to the truth.

Gu Huaichun asked, ”Do you like acting?”

”It started out just as a job, but then I gradually began to like it,” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”However, I don’t know if I truly like it or if it’s just an illusion. I haven’t acted for very long after all. This is only my second acting job.”

Gu Huaichun nodded.

”What about you? Did you choose this profession because you like acting?” Zhou Yun asked.

Gu Huaichun hummed in agreement, ”As a kid, when I watched movies, I thought I could act, so later I applied to drama school and got in.”

”Have you always been this narcissistic from a young age?” Zhou Yun asked.

Gu Huaichun, pointing at his face, replied, ”If you had a face like this, wouldn’t you know you’re handsome? Do you think everyone around you is blind?”

Zhou Yun drew a sharp breath, genuinely and intently inquired of Yin Zhou, ”How do you put up with him normally? I can barely stop myself from smacking him when we film together, and thankfully it’s only for three months. You’re with him all the time, doesn’t it drive you mad?”

Yin Zhou chuckled and turned his head away.

The three of them were always together because of filming, and in a short period of time, their relationship had become a bit closer than usual.

And becoming close starts with bantering at any time and place.

After having dinner with them, Zhou Yun returned to the hotel, took a bath, and just as she was coming out, she heard the sound of a keycard swiping at the door.

Zheng Xiaojue walked in with a look of surprise on her face and said, ”Sister Xiao Yun, let’s watch the show together.”

”Ah?” Zhou Yun didn’t immediately grasp what Zheng Xiaojue meant.

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”Tonight, the second episode of ’After the Scandal’ goes live at eight o’clock, there are five minutes left!”

Only then did Zhou Yun realize what was being discussed.

”Sure,” she nodded.

Zheng Xiaojue had also prepared snacks and drinks, and considering that Zhou Yun was currently on weight control, Zheng Xiaojue had prepared konjac shreds, seaweed, and sugar-free drinks.

Suddenly remembering, Zhou Yun said, ”Xiaoju, you can have these. I’ve packed a portion of spicy chicken cubes from the restaurant for you, and it’s not leftovers, okay?”

Zheng Xiaojue’s eyes lit up immediately.

”Really? Sister Xiao Yun, you are so good to me!”

The second episode finally played the scene where they were reading books.

The previous episode ended with just an interview of Zhou Yun by Li Yuning and a few moments of acting class at the company.

As the content of the show moved to Zhou Yun receiving a call from Song Chi, proposing to have lunch together at noon, the barrage of online comments surged significantly.

Just as they had said, Zhou Yun’s screen time finally increased in the second episode.

Especially since almost half of the second episode featured them eating at Lew Yuan’s house.

Zheng Xiaojue laughed out loud several times in the middle of the show.

Zhou Yun, on the other hand, wanted to dig a hole and bury herself in it.

The production team was really unethical—they used editing tricks to specifically highlight her initially contrived portrayal of intelligence, elegance, and ladylike demeanor. As a result of Song Chi’s repeated unmasking, Zhou Yun gave up and showed her true self.

Especially during the quips at Song Chi.

Zhou Yun had a premonition that this segment might become a viral clip on the internet.

An iconic scene.

The episode was still only an hour long when it aired.

In the show, lunchtime had just begun.

Following this editing trend, Zhou Yun felt that the content of the third episode might still take place at Lew Yuan’s house.

Her phone suddenly vibrated several times. Zhou Yun picked it up and saw it was a message from Zhou Lan, reminding her to post on Weibo to promote the program ’After the Scandal’.

Actually, Zhou Yun had already posted on Weibo in the afternoon, but Zhou Lan’s idea was to have Zheng Xiaojue take a picture of Zhou Yun watching the show and post it on Weibo.

Zhou Yun did as instructed and made the post.

Some people in her comments reminded her that Song Chi had @mentioned her.
