Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 609: Chapter 52: Nomination Turmoil (Part 4)

Lu Yuan was somewhat surprised, didn’t think much about it, nodded, and asked, ”Why did you come so early? Didn’t you say you would join the crew a few days later?”

”Canceled all my work.” Zhou Yun smiled, ”You know why.”

Lu Yuan seemed to just realize, and asked, ”Because of the Zhao Qin thing? Utter nonsense, they can spread a baseless rumor as if it were true.”

Zhou Yun gave a wry smile.

”Great, let’s have dinner together tonight, I’ll call Xiao Gu, Siyao and the others,” Lu Yuan said.

Zhou Yun had no plans for the evening anyway, nodded, and agreed.

”Right, wasn’t there a show that wanted to follow along and film?” Lu Yuan asked.

The show ”After the Scandal” was scheduled to film Zhou Yun’s life on the drama set, and this had already been discussed in advance.

Since it’s a modern drama, the demand for confidentiality of make-up was not as high as for period dramas; on the other hand, the ”Scandal” crew would not enter the set to film but only shoot after Zhou Yun finished work for the day, so the drama crew agreed.

As the female lead, the more popular Zhou Yun is, the better for ”Eighth Heartbeat”.

By evening, Zhou Yun arrived at the restaurant booked by Lu Yuan, only to see Xu Siyao alone.

Xu Siyao was touching up her makeup. When she saw Zhou Yun come in, she looked up at her, and it was unclear whether it was because she had been scolded by her agent for ignoring Zhou Yun in front of the cameras last time, but this time Xu Siyao greeted her indifferently as Sister Xiao Yun, without putting on an unfamiliar face.

Zhou Yun smiled slightly, said a ’long time no see,’ sat down, took out her phone, and did not speak further.

Compared with Xu Siyao, who was ready to appear on camera with her elaborate makeup, Zhou Yun had not applied any. Her own makeup skills were mediocre, and without a makeup artist, she would at most apply some foundation and lipstick on herself. But since it was just a dinner with a few people from the crew, Zhou Yun couldn’t be bothered.

The silent atmosphere between the two lasted until Gu Huaichun appeared.

Along with Gu Huaichun was the male supporting actor of ”Eighth Heartbeat,” Yin Zhou, also a contracted artist of Yuehai Network.

Both were handsome with well-defined features, indicating Yuehai Network’s aesthetic preferences when signing male artists.

As these two entered, Xu Siyao immediately got up warmly.

”Brother Chun, Brother Zhou,” Xu Siyao smiled sweetly, ”hello, I am Xu Siyao.”

Gu Huaichun and Yin Zhou probably already knew each other and greeted Xu Siyao one after another with smiles.

Xu Siyao had not participated in the previous script reading sessions, so this was her first time meeting Gu Huaichun and Yin Zhou.

Zhou Yun, who already knew them, exchanged pleasantries for a bit, and then Gu Huaichun looked down at his phone.

Zhou Yun knew Gu Huaichun had some opinion of her, but did not show it on her face and also looked down at her phone.

Xu Siyao was very proactive, starting a lively conversation with Yin Zhou.

Zhou Yun overheard that Xu Siyao was asking Yin Zhou whether he usually played badminton and that she was looking for a partner.

Yin Zhou said, ”I don’t play, but I remember Huaichun does.”

”Really?” Xu Siyao looked at Gu Huaichun with pleasant surprise, ”Brother Chun, how about we play badminton together in the future?”

Gu Huaichun looked up and glanced at Xu Siyao, expressing an indifferent ”Hmm.”

Xu Siyao’s smile widened, ”Then let me add you guys on WeChat, and we’ll form a group. I’ll call you guys in the group when we play.”

After Xu Siyao added them as WeChat friends, she turned around as if she had just remembered something, and looked back at Zhou Yun, ”Sister Xiao Yun, do you want to join us?”

Zhou Yun smiled faintly and replied, ”No thanks, I don’t play.”

Yin Zhou said, ”I don’t either, how about we learn together?”

Zhou Yun was about to reply when suddenly, Gu Huaichun said, ”She’s a big celebrity, where would she find the time to play badminton with us.”

Zhou Yun immediately felt that this Windsor person was not simple.

Of course, she couldn’t judge a person’s character based solely on her intuition.

But using her intuition to decide whether she liked or disliked a person was always without issue.

While Zhou Yun was contemplating Windsor, she suddenly received a surprise phone call.

It was from Jiang Haitian.

Jiang Haitian was Jiang He’s son; she had only seen him once before when meeting Director Jiang He, and Zhou Yun couldn’t think of any reason for Jiang Haitian to call her.

”Hello, senior,” Zhou Yun answered the phone.

Jiang Haitian’s voice came through the phone: ”Zhou Yun, sorry to bother you.”

”No problem, senior, do you need something from me?” Zhou Yun asked directly.

Jiang Haitian said, ”Do you have time now? Can I come find you for a moment?”
