Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 608: Chapter 452: Nomination Turmoil (Part 3)

When she and Song Chi first got embroiled in a romance scandal, rumor had it—convincingly so—because both Zhou Yun and Song Chi had matching ”bold red and purple” phone cases.

Yuk Chu let out a shriek and exclaimed, ”That was ages ago, and you’re still bringing it up?”

The two erupted into joyful laughter.

Zhou Yun genuinely liked Yuk Chu and considered her a friend.

In the past few months, Zhou Yun’s career and circumstances had undergone drastic changes, but Yuk Chu’s treatment of Zhou Yun had remained constant, unchanged. Amidst the whirlwind of changes around her, having such a steadfast friend sometimes felt comforting.

As time passed, the rumors about Zhou Yun and Zhao Qin on the internet eventually began to dissipate.

In the end, Zhao Qin issued an apology and announced his departure from the ”Geology Talk” team, settling the dust.

Did Zhao Qin and Zhou Yun ever sleep together? Was it true or false? These questions remained unanswered—and of course, nobody needed them.

Certain public perceptions had already formed.

Everything was gradually calming down.

Zhou Yun entered the film set three days earlier to start preparing for the shooting of ”Eighth Heartbeat.”

The ordeal Zhou Yun had faced these last half-month had affected many of her work engagements, but it wasn’t really significant for ”Eighth Heartbeat.”

The timeline for a film or TV series to go from pre-production to filming and then to release is typically quite long.

This kind of unsubstantiated rumor allows enough time for its influence to wane before the release of the series.

It’s just that Zhou Yun’s ”star power” had taken a hit, and her image had suffered considerably. In the entertainment industry, which is accustomed to rapid rises and falls, the atmosphere she faced after joining the set was also affected.

Previously, producer Huang Zhong made special arrangements for her own rest area and had people queue up for an hour or two to buy trendy tea for Zhou Yun.

This time when she encountered Huang Zhong again, she noticed a slight shift in his attitude toward her.

On the surface, his words were as pleasant as ever, telling her to approach him if she needed anything.

But Zhou Yun could perceive the subtle change in demeanor.

Zhou Yun checked into the hotel prepared by the production team. The entire crew of over a hundred people had reserved three floors. The floor she was on housed mainly actors, and her room was the best suite available—befitting a female lead. Since she had joined the set a few days early, there weren’t many people on her floor yet; it was even slightly desolate. Not many artists would join the set ahead of time, unless they had no other engagements for those days.

After tidying up her room, Zhou Yun picked up the call sheet that Sister Lan had requested from the production team to see which scenes she would be starting with, so she could prepare in advance.

Suddenly, she heard a soft moan coming from the room next door.

Zhou Yun’s eyes went wide as she incredulously turned toward the neighboring room.

The indefinable noises grew louder and more piercing to the ear.

Zhou Yun never would have imagined that on her very first day on set, she would encounter such a scenario.

It was her first time experiencing this, and she felt helpless and embarrassed, not knowing what to do or whom to ask for help.

Zhou Yun could only text Sister Lan: Who’s staying next to me?

Sister Lan replied: Not sure, I’ll find out.

A little later, Sister Lan returned with a message: Gu Huaichun.

Followed by: What’s up?

Imagining Gu Huaichun’s handsome features and his valiant eyebrows and eyes, Zhou Yun scoffed and texted Sister Lan: Young people are certainly full of vigor.

Sister Lan instantly understood and expressed her shock as well: In broad daylight?

Zhou Yun: Didn’t see it coming.

Sister Lan: Well, they’re young people, it’s normal to do that sort of thing.

Zhou Yun: The hotel’s soundproofing is awful. Should I send him a note to remind him?

Sister Lan: Aren’t you just threatening him then?

Zhou Yun: Sister Lan, I’m replying to you while listening to moans.

Sister Lan: ... I’ll give his agent a heads-up, pretending I heard it as I passed by his door.

Not wanting to continue sitting there listening to the ”performance,” Zhou Yun grabbed her essentials, put on a mask, and left the room.

She had planned to stay in Zheng Xiaojue’s room for a while, but on her way down the elevator, she bumped into Director Lu Yuan of this film.

”Director Lu?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised when she saw him.

Lu Yuan: ”Heading out?”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”Do you stay on this floor?”

”No, I need to talk with Xiao Gu about something,” Lu Yuan said.

Zhou Yun’s expression immediately became animated.

”You’re looking for him? Director Lu, maybe you should wait a bit before looking for him, he’s probably... busy at the moment.”
