Su Yan was sitting to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned in with a curious face and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately replied, ”We met for the first time today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting,” Su Yan said, ”But I did get startled when I saw the trending search this morning.”

Zhou Yun replied with an innocent face, ”It’s all nonsense made up by the paparazzi.”

”I remember you’re currently filming with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing countered, ”You should know best, whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Hearing that, Su Yan’s eyes flickered for a moment, and she laughed haughtily twice before saying: ”Although we are filming in the same crew, how would I be privy to such matters.”

At first glance, this statement seemed fine, but it was actually rather evasive. Lew Qingqing had thrown out that question intending for Su Yan to serve as a witness to clear up the rumor. However, Su Yan had deftly sidestepped the issue, giving the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, it would be none of her business.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again, ”I don’t know teacher Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Alright now, don’t worry. The fans are all very clever these days; they won’t be led around by the nose by the paparazzi, no need to be anxious.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Beside them, Su Yan pulled out sunglasses from her bag and put them on.

Chen Quanying, who was chatting with someone else, saw this and directly asked, ”Su Yan, what’s with the sunglasses after the sun has set? Trying to be cool?”

That one sentence almost caused Su Yan to fumble.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

She had long heard that Chen Quanying was forthright and there were quite a few rumors about her bluntly calling out others in the industry. Now witnessing it first-hand, it was truly... unique. At least, Zhou Yun had never seen anyone be so direct in exposing someone like this before.

Unless you count Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, who already had conflicts between them.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouting and complaining in a pitiful tone, ”Aww, Sister Ying, I’m tired and wanted to get some sleep in the car.”

Even Su Yan wouldn’t dare to openly confront Chen Quanying directly.

Lew Qingqing would not miss this opportunity to kick someone when they’re down, especially her arch-enemy, ”Then let’s switch seats, I actually wanted to chat with Sister Ying. I used to love listening to Sister Ying’s songs when I was in school and even went to her concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot over instantly.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing with surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concerts,” Chen Quanying turned her head to Su Yan and said, ”Didn’t you want to take a nap? Since Lew Qing wants to switch seats with you, go ahead and switch.”

Su Yan looked a bit embarrassed, as if she was stuck on the hot seat.

This was being sent away.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but she had no choice but to grimace and swallow her teeth, and switched seats with Lew Qingqing.

The cameras were still filming, Zhou Yun gave a smile and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan, with a sullen face, nodded, put on her sunglasses again, and it was unclear whether she actually fell asleep or not.

Only then did Zhou Yun take out her phone and slightly shifted her body to keep Su Yan from seeing the screen, and sent a message to Zhou Lan: Did you see it this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? It wasn’t on purpose, was it?

Zhou Yun: No, it was on purpose because I didn’t stand with her in solidarity but rather got close with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: Are they really at odds?

Zhou Yun: They had a fall-out while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Don’t be impulsive right now, finish recording the show before addressing it, and don’t forget how you should present yourself on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask someone for a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this to me, don’t worry.

Having made clear instructions, Zhou Yun finally relaxed and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice cold: ”What’s the matter?”

She was indeed not asleep.

Zhou Yun looked baffled, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what happened?”

Su Yan chuckled dismissively and said nothing more, falling silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned her head to look out of the window, and only then did the smile in her eyes fade.

They arrived at the place for dinner, and once everyone was seated at a large table, the director and the cameramen were also ready. People filled the space in front of the dining table, but only the artists were visible in the camera’s frame.

Su Yan had a look of being tantalized by hunger, saying, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat an entire cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, really hungry, Director, there aren’t any tasks right now, right? Can we just have dinner?”

Both girls gazed at the camera pitifully, their faces pleading.

Beautiful girls making such expressions always tend to soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there is a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both sighed at the same time but offered no argument.

The men behind also started to complain.

”Director, what about affection? Where is your love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I declare this is my last episode.”

”This is outrageous!”

...

It’s all a performance, all acting, all for the camera effects.

Zhou Yun is not the main character, so a helpless smile is enough.

Smile prettily, be a beautiful vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit by me,” Lew Qingqing called invitingly after she took her seat, ”Come here.”

So Zhou Yun moved over to her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said that I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was taken aback and looked at Zhang Haichen, not knowing what to do.

Lew Qingqing smiled triumphantly and said, ”Hmph, stop causing trouble for our innocent Xiao Yun.”

Zhou Yun looked confused.

Zhang Haichen sighed and faced the camera with a forlorn expression.

Zhou Yun understood, it was yet another variety show effect.

She smiled and cheerfully hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm.

Su Yan didn’t look too pleased to see this scene; even her glance at Zhou Yun carried a bit of disgust.

Of course, this disgust avoided the camera.

Originally, Zhou Yun didn’t want to get involved in the rivalry between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but the kick from Su Yan in the afternoon had ignited her anger.

No matter how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing had not done that to her.

Zhou Yun was happy to show deep sisterly affection with Lew Qingqing, just to infuriate Su Yan.

During the subsequent filming, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing were even more affectionate, frequently holding hands or hugging each other.

They were so intimate that they seemed like childhood best friends.
