Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 636: Chapter 364: Flying into a Rage

Zhou Yun left something unsaid. She felt that Xu Siyao’s persisting bad temper after being in the industry for so long was largely due to the indulgence of He Yong and others.

If someone makes a mistake and is immediately taught a lesson or punished, even harshly, at least it makes them realize it was wrong. They might feel wronged or even make a scene, but the deeper the impression, the more they learn that it was wrong and must not be repeated.

Yet, Xu Siyao is the typical example of someone who makes mistakes and isn’t genuinely called out.

Zhou Yun didn’t want to be an ”accomplice.”

Of course, her intention was not to hope for Xu Siyao to improve.

He Yong sighed, seemingly aware that he was in the wrong, and didn’t utter any other nonsense. He just said, ”Xiao Yun, I know this matter has upset you a lot. I’m not asking you to come out and clear her name, it’s just can we let this go, please? Don’t come out and slap her face again, don’t pierce that last piece of window paper. If this gets confirmed, no partners would dare to work with such an overbearing person in the future.”

Zhou Yun: ”As long as she stops causing trouble by herself, I can refrain from responding.”

”Okay, I’ll make it clear to her side. If she continues to be tactless, I can only give up on her,” sighed He Yong.

Zhou Yun sneered and quietly hung up the phone.

Give up?

She didn’t believe He Yong would give up on Xu Siyao.

That was simply impossible.

Xu Siyao was among the top five money-makers for Chengqian Entertainment.

Though her reputation was not good, and she couldn’t get good endorsements or resources, her popularity—even if it was negative—still existed. Plus, being Chen Wenjun’s girlfriend, acting in web dramas, streaming, and performing at commercial shows, she made quite a lot of money.

He Yong would not give up on Xu Siyao.

Zhou Yun was very clear about this.

Was He Yong just speaking superficially, trying to evoke her sympathy?

This thought emerged in Zhou Yun’s mind, and she couldn’t help but sneer silently.

She realized that He Yong really liked to use these tactics.

After hanging up, Zhou Yun returned to the private room.

Song Chi asked, ”Came to plead with you?”

”Pretty much,” shrugged Zhou Yun, ”I can now understand why Xu Siyao dares to repeatedly provoke me without hesitancy, she has decided that someone will always clean up her messes.”

Yin Zhou was amused by this analogy.

Zhou Yun gave him a look and said, ”What’s so funny about this? Isn’t it true?”

Yin Zhou nodded, ”You’re right.”

”That’s why only by what I did today can I teach her a real lesson, and see if she dares to provoke again,” Zhou Yun said.

Hearing this, Song Chi, curious, asked, ”What do you mean? What did you do?”

Zhou Yun said, ”Nothing much, during today’s show recording, she kept calling me Sister Xiao Yun, so I just went with the flow and called her Little Sister Siyao for a day.”

As soon as Song Chi heard ”Little Sister Siyao,”

his body jolted as if someone who hated coriander had tasted it in their food.

Zhou Yun nodded.

”Disgusting, isn’t it?”

”Ha, you think this is disgusting? Then make sure to watch this episode.” Zhou Yun said, ”Honestly, this is the most refreshing episode I’ve recorded so far.”

Song Chi looked puzzled and curious.

Yin Zhou added, ”It’s also the most jaw-dropping episode I’ve ever recorded.”

...

While Zhou Yun was happy about her performance, Xu Siyao naturally felt upset and anxious about today’s recording.

To tell the truth, the whole process today made Xu Siyao feel quite uncomfortable.

This was not the Zhou Yun she knew.

The Zhou Yun she knew always cared about her image and didn’t nitpick with her.

But today, Zhou Yun seemed different, as if determined to oppose her and knock her down, repeatedly giving her subtle rejections.

Xu Siyao didn’t even need to watch the full episode to know that this episode would make her look very awkward.

Xu Siyao didn’t have time to wonder why Zhou Yun changed her usual demeanor. What she urgently needed to do was to find a way to cut out all the segments implying criticism towards her in this episode.

She knew very well that if those segments were shown in the final cut, she would be labeled as a ”green tea bitch” for a long time.

Xu Siyao didn’t think there was anything wrong with what she was doing, but she knew it would upset the audience.

She called Chen Wenjun, who picked up the phone. After listening to her plea, he said bluntly, ”I’ve told you before, don’t provoke Zhou Yun. You’re no match for her. Now, are you experiencing the consequences? Feeling Zhou Yun’s prowess? If she wasn’t that capable, would she have risen so quickly over a short time? Look back over the past thirty years, has there been any actor in the country who rose faster than her? What made you think you could compete with her?”

Xu Siyao called Chen Wenjun for help, but instead, she ended up being scolded.

She was so angry that her eyes reddened, and she questioned, ”Chen Wenjun, whose boyfriend are you? Are you going to help me or not?”

Chen Wenjun responded, ”How can I help you? I’m not in charge of ’What a Nice Weather’, and it’s not produced by my company. Who should I ask to help you?”

”You know so many people, don’t you have any influential friends?”

Chen Wenjun said, ”Instead of seeking help from me, you might as well ask your boss, He Yong; he has closer ties with them.”

Xu Siyao retorted, ”If I could resolve this matter with his help, why would I seek you?”

Chen Wenjun said, ”Don’t be hasty, don’t act impulsively. In my opinion, airing this episode might not be a bad thing. Who said your candor must be disliked? Maybe some will find it appealing? I like it, don’t I?”

Xu Siyao yelled in frustration, ”Chen Wenjun!”

”Told you not to get angry, yet you’re angry. I don’t even know how to talk to you anymore.” Chen Wenjun said righteously, ”I have other things to attend to now. Go talk to He Yong. Hanging up.”

”Che—”

The phone hung up.

Xu Siyao stared at her disconnected call in disbelief, unable to recover.

Chen Wenjun actually hung up the phone!

Xu Siyao angrily yelled, her voice echoing in the room.

At such a critical moment, he was so unreliable! Xu Siyao really wanted to break up with Chen Wenjun, once and for all. But the only bit of reason left made her pull back from that thought.

She took a deep breath, scrolled to He Yong’s mobile number, hesitated for a second, then dialed He Yong.

Xu Siyao didn’t know if He Yong would help her, but if Zhou Yun found out about this, she would definitely stop her!
