Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned in with a curious face and asked, ”Did you guys know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing answered immediately, ”We met for the first time today. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting,” said Su Yan, ”but I was really shocked when I saw the trending search this morning.”

With an innocent face, Zhou Yun said, ”Paparazzi making things up.”

”I remember you’re currently filming with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing shot back at Su Yan, ”You should know best whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered, and she chuckled twice, saying, ”Although I’m on the same crew filming, how could they let me know about such things?”

This remark sounded non-problematic at first, but in fact, it was still vague. Lew Qingqing had thrown out that statement to have Su Yan act as a witness to clarify the rumor. However, Su Yan only skirted around the topic, giving people the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, she wouldn’t know.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again: ”I don’t know Teacher Song Chi.”

Lew Qingqing patted Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”There, there, don’t worry about it. Fans are smart nowadays. They won’t be led by the nose by paparazzi. Don’t worry.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Meanwhile, Su Yan took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Chen Quanying, who was chatting with others, directly asked, ”Su Yan, why are you wearing sunglasses when the sun has set? Trying to look cool?”

That comment nearly made Su Yan lose her composure.

Zhou Yun keenly observed the corner of Su Yan’s mouth twitching.

She had long heard that Chen Quanying had an outspoken nature and that there were many rumors in the circle about her backhanded comments. Seeing it today, it was indeed... distinctive. At least, Zhou Yun had never seen someone expose others so directly in her time in the industry.

That is, others not counting the inherent conflict between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouting, and said with a touch of grievance, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m tired and wanted to sleep in the car for a bit.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to confront Chen Quanying directly.

Lew Qingqing would not miss this opportunity to kick someone when they were down. ”Then let’s switch seats. I’d actually like to chat with Sister Ying. I loved your songs when I was in school and even went to your concert with my friends.”

Su Yan’s glare instantly darted over.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing with surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” said Lew Qingqing, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my concerts,” Chen Quanying turned to Su Yan and said, ”You wanted to take a nap, right? Since Lew Qingqing wants to switch seats with you, just go ahead and switch.”

Su Yan looked somewhat embarrassed, as if she were stuck on a barbecue spit.

She was being shunted aside.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but she had no choice but to do so, seemingly grinding her teeth as she switched seats with Lew Qingqing.

There was still a camera shooting. Zhou Yun smiled and yelled, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan’s face was stiff as she nodded her head and put her sunglasses back on, not showing whether she really fell asleep or not.

Only then did Zhou Yun take out her phone, slightly turning her body so that Su Yan couldn’t see her phone screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see what happened this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She didn’t do it on purpose, right?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose because I didn’t stand on her side in solidarity against a common enemy, but instead, got close to Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: So they really don’t get along?

Zhou Yun: They tore off each other’s mask while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: For now, don’t be rash, finish recording the program, and remember the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask for a video backup.

Zhou Lan: Leave this matter to me, rest assured.

After giving clear instructions, Zhou Yun breathed a sigh of relief and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Su Yan suddenly spoke up, her voice cold, ”What is it?”

Sure enough, she wasn’t asleep.

Zhou Yun looked perplexed, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s the matter?”

Su Yan chuckled disdainfully, said nothing, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun gave a helpless smile, turned away, and looked out the window, the smile in his eyes fading away.

When they arrived at the place for dinner, there was a large table. Once everyone was seated, the director and the cameramen were already prepared. People filled the spaces in front of the table, but only the artists were visible in the camera’s view.

Su Yan wore a face that said she was tempted by hunger, stating, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately responded, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there’s no task now, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls gazed eagerly at the camera with pleading expressions.

A pretty girl making that kind of face always softens people’s hearts.

But how could the director soften?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh of resignation, but didn’t argue.

Several of the men behind them started to complain as well.

”Director, what about feelings? Where’s your love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I declare this to be my last episode.”

”That’s too much!”

...

All of it is acting, all for the camera, all for the show.

Zhou Yun isn’t the protagonist, she just needs to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, like a pretty flower vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing called out invitingly after she took her seat, ”Hurry over.”

Zhou Yun then moved to sit beside her.

”Lew Qingqing, did you do that on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said that I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was startled, at a loss as she looked toward Zhang Haichen.

Lew Qingqing was smiling triumphantly, saying, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun; she’s so naïve!”

Zhou Yun had a dumbfounded expression.

Zhang Haichen heaved a sigh and faced the camera, looking morose.

Zhou Yun understood, it was another moment for the variety show.

She happily embraced Lew Qingqing’s arm with a grin.

Su Yan’s face didn’t look too pleased seeing this scene, her gaze toward Zhou Yun even contained a hint of disgust.

Of course, this hint of disgust was kept out of the camera’s sight.

Zhou Yun didn’t want to get involved in the feud between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing originally, but Su Yan’s kick this afternoon had ignited her temper.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing hadn’t treated her with that attitude.

Zhou Yun was happy to display a deep sister-like bond with Lew Qingqing, just to infuriate Su Yan.

In the following shoot, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing got along even better, linking arms every now and then, or hugging Lew Qingqing.

Their affection appeared as if they had grown up as best friends since childhood.
