Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 603: Chapter 451: Another Game, Part 6

”It’s impossible for this to happen, we clearly stated everything in the contract, and if they dare to do this, we will sue them.”

”I’m really angry right now! Zhou Yun, that bitch! She just has to make life difficult for me!”

He Ting stopped trying to console her, waiting for Su Yan to vent her anger, then she sighed bitterly and advised, ”Yanyan, I know you’re angry, but anger won’t solve this. The key is that ’Heart Inquiry’ is genuinely high quality, and your performance has made a big breakthrough. Let me tell you, no matter what you think of Song Chi, you must not show it. Regardless, once this show is over! Zhou Yun’s temporary triumph means nothing. No matter how proud she is, she’s just a supporting actress in this drama, while you are the lead actress. When the time comes, you will be the one nominated for Best Actress, she can only aim for Best Supporting Actress.”

Su Yan bit her lip, silently for a moment, then asked, ”Then tell me, can I win the award?”

He Ting, ”There’s a good chance. As of now, your biggest competitor is Wei Ru Xue, but ’Spring Cold’ is a palace intrigue drama, not favored by officials. Other potential competitors for Best Actress haven’t released any well-received works this year, so as long as ’Heart Inquiry’ receives good reviews upon release, you have a great chance of winning the award! I’ve heard a piece of news that Zhou Yun won’t be able to attend the promotional period for this drama.”

The last comment from He Ting made Su Yan’s eyes light up instantly.

”Sister Lan, I’m not having a nightmare.”

After coming out of the surveillance room, Zhou Yun immediately said to Zhou Lan.

She looked at Zhou Lan very seriously and said, ”Sister Lan, you have to believe me, I can tell whether I’m dreaming or not. Even if the rustling sound is a nightmare, the voice at the door, I really heard it. It’s not auditory hallucination, I’ve never had them.”

Zhou Lan patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder reassuringly and said, ”I believe you. It’s very likely that the hotel is trying to avoid trouble and has hidden this incident.”

”They are definitely lying,” Zhou Yun stated decisively.

Zhou Lan said, ”How about I sleep with you tonight? We’ll go back tomorrow.”

Zhou Yun understood the implication in Zhou Lan’s words.

Leaving tomorrow, and no substantial impact has occurred, whatever the real situation is better less fuss.

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Okay.”

But after such an incident, Zhou Yun found herself unable to sleep.

The fear she experienced earlier, although brief, seemed to have seared a mark on her heart which could not heal immediately, lingering fear remained.

After a while, Zhou Lan’s voice suddenly came through the darkness.

”Xiao Yun, actually if you’re willing, you don’t need to be involved in rumors with Song Chi to get good resources.”

Zhou Yun heard what Zhou Lan said and remained silent.

She knew what Zhou Lan was talking about and knew she was right.

When first signed by the company, Zhou Yun thought that she could gradually become successful and earn money by just consistently working hard. But the entertainment industry, although a place of dreams, doesn’t craft those dreams for insiders. Zhou Yun is pretty, everyone says so, but there are too many attractive people in the industry without visibility and marketing, a fleeting surge of interest in good looks fades quickly. To continue to be famous, facial beauty alone is not enough.

So many so-called legendary beauties become nothing more than small talk, quickly glanced at and then forgotten.

A senior executive at the company took a liking to her and began a discreet but persistent pursuit.

Zhou Lan knew this and had spoken to Zhou Yun, just dating in exchange for strong promotional support, it’s a good deal from a business perspective. Not just in show business, but in any workplace regardless of gender, such cases aren’t rare everywhere but are definitely not uncommon. A quid pro quo arrangement, in a couple of years, it’s a split on mutual consent.

But Zhou Yun never agreed. She could cling to Zhou Lan’s arm, act coquettishly, and say she didn’t want to, but she didn’t want to force herself to cling to a man’s arm just to shake some enticing candy out of his hand. After all, Zhou Yun had a line in her heart that she couldn’t cross, not even for a moment.

Zhou Lan sighed softly.
