Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 629: Chapter 460: Sudden Nausea

Yuk Chu has gone to join the film crew, Wen Xi went abroad for Fashion Week, and Zhou Yun had no one else to meet.

When free, Zhou Yun would spend her days getting physiotherapy and massages.

These days, a lot of backed-up commercials were finally shot.

Zhou Lan got Zhou Yun several high-end endorsements.

All of them are high-end.

Wang Jing also gained two titles of close friends.

Now Wang Jing has gained some fame and has the capital to benefit from Zhou Yun’s influence.

If it were a complete newcomer, no matter how famous Zhou Yun is, she couldn’t help a newcomer, almost a layperson, gain benefits.

Zhou Lan talked with Zhou Yun several times about the studio plans.

”No matter whether you renew your contract with Chengqian Entertainment or not, I think the studio can be established,” Zhou Lan said, ”Chengqian can invest in it or we can find other partnership methods. But we must hold the autonomy in our hands, that’s what you mean, right?”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”That’s right.”

Zhou Lan said: ”After opening a studio, and affiliating it under Chengqian Entertainment, He Yong definitely does not hope you leave, but with your current growth rate, Chengqian Entertainment can no longer keep up with you. To this day, it hasn’t evolved into a model that can manage high-end brokering, still feeding artists from a big pot. With the studio, I can move directly there, whether signing newcomers or venturing into other businesses, it will all be much more convenient. Now, I’m cultivating Wang Jing, Lu Zhongting, and Huang Zicheng, just to think that in two years they’ll no longer be under my control makes me a bit depressed.”

Zhou Yun smiled.

”They are the talents you cultivated, even if they’re not under your management, they would still remember your care,” Zhou Yun said. ”Wang Jing was brought up entirely by you, no one can deny that.”

”True, but later they will meet more people, have more choices,” Zhou Lan shook his head, ”Let’s not talk about this, it’s meaningless. What I mean to say is, you still have another option, not to affiliate the studio under Chengqian Entertainment.”

”Hmm?”

”Isn’t Song Chi also running a studio doing brokerage?” Zhou Lan said, ”I was wondering, do you want to do it with him?”

Zhou Yun fell into thought.

She had considered this before but hadn’t decided.

”Perhaps not,” Zhou Yun said. ”Going there to run a ’mom-and-pop shop’? It could lead to conflicts.”

”Has Song Chi talked to you about this?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun shook her head, ”He has never mentioned it. Besides, his company mainly handles film and television production. Artist management is just a side business developed to complement the production. If I go there, they would have to allocate more staff for the brokerage part, which would trouble him. His own brokerage work hasn’t even been introduced to the company; he still has his own team managing it.”

”Right, then you should communicate with him in advance about this,” Zhou Lan said. ”As for Chengqian Entertainment, He Yong mentioned your contract renewal several times, I just brushed it off, but by the end of this year, it probably won’t be so easy to muddle through.”

”Hmm,” Zhou Yun said, ”still so much time left.”

”Your career is rising, and with a few more movies you starred in releasing one after another, you will climb to another level.”

Zhou Lan added, ”Speaking of which, this Friday you are scheduled to record ’What a Nice Weather’, Xu Siyao is also a guest, to promote ’Dingfengbo’.”

Zhou Yun: ”Hmm, I know.”

”Xu Siyao is still being sensible, not stepping on you to market herself, just releasing a lot of generic press releases,” Zhou Lan said. ”We don’t need to worry about these, as long as she doesn’t play dirty.”

”It’s unnecessary to get involved with her,” Zhou Yun said. ”Just record the show normally.”

On the day of the actual recording of ’What a Nice Weather,’ Zhou Yun suddenly felt a bit unwell, unsure whether she caught a cold or what, but she sneezed several times in the morning and felt a bit dizzy, yet her temperature was normal.

Song Chi quickly found her a remedy to drink.

Zhou Yun shivered and complained: ”It’s definitely because you took my blanket last night! I had no blanket covering me!”

An blamed Song Chi said with a speechless expression: ”How is this my fault now?”

Zhou Yun said, ”It’s so annoying, I have to record today, feeling sick, how can I do it.”

Song Chi saw that Zhou Yun’s complexion really wasn’t good.

He asked, ”Can it be rescheduled?”

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes at him and asked, ”What do you think?”

Both of them were familiar with the hardships of the industry.

A show’s recording involves too many people and efforts. If Zhou Yun, who was invited for this episode, doesn’t show up, without another hot celebrity, the show, by norm invites one main guest star at most, not because ’two tigers cannot share one mountain’, but due to budgetary constraints. Having two high-profile guests would be too costly in fees.

If Zhou Yun stood them up now, later when this episode airs without a big-name celebrity, having a no-show Zhou Yun would also strike a blow to the show’s ratings and reputation.

Normally, if one can go, they should.

It’s about maintaining credibility.

Zhou Yun put on a mask, took a hand warmer, and said, ”It’s okay, not as bad as I first thought.”

Song Chi nodded.

”Just be careful,” he said.

After speaking, he sent a message to Zhou Lan and Zheng Xiaojue, reminding them of Zhou Yun’s discomfort that day.

As Zhou Yun got into the car, Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, are you feeling unwell today?”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”A little, but it’s nothing major.”

Zheng Xiaojue: ”Let me know if you need anything.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

She yawned.

However, sitting in the car, the uncomfortable feeling intensified, even feeling a bit nauseous.

Seeing this, a worried expression appeared on Zheng Xiaojue’s face.

”Sister Xiao Yun, should we make a detour to the hospital to check?”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Is there time?”

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”We can make it.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

At the hospital, no specific issues were found, the doctor said it was just a cold, and prescribed some cold medicine.

Zhou Yun: ”...”

She took a cold pill in the car, and somehow felt agitated, and hurriedly knocked on the car window.

Cao Jun urgently pulled over, Zhou Yun opened the car door, and immediately threw up.

Zheng Xiaojue was startled.

She quickly handed Zhou Yun water and tissues.

Zhou Yun wiped her mouth and sighed, ”I feel much better after throwing up.”

She sighed deeply.

Zheng Xiaojue cautiously asked, ”Sister Xiao Yun, didn’t you eat too much last night?”
