Gu Xi returned to Aryldewich City, and within less than half an hour, he had already confirmed everything.

This was entirely different from his original plan of completing the Death Lord task within a day.

Upon receiving the task, Gu Xi turned to Luna and said.

”I need to hurry back now. Time is running out; I leave Aryldewich City to you. Once the Soul Summoning Tower is built, remember to inform me.”

”Don’t worry, my lord. Take this mirror with you. If you encounter a powerful enemy, you can send them directly to the Mysterious Mirror Image Space.”

Luna casually handed Gu Xi a small mirror.

Gu Xi took the mirror and realized it was a small tool.

[Special Mirror Surface (Blue): A mirror imbued with mysterious power. Upon use, it can activate the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, or leverage the space to utilize some bizarre mirror abilities.]

Gu Xi thought for a moment and tied it together with the special coins, hanging them all on his left wrist.

It’s worth noting that the special coins have become an essential tool for Gu Xi.

In the absence of a full set of Fox Eye Rings, which prevent psychic influence, the special coins have become Gu Xi’s only means of escaping psychic influence.

Now, Gu Xi decided to keep the special mirror there too, activating some uncanny mirror abilities on the spot.

Duplication and Enhancement.

Under this eerie ability, the special coins would have double the effect.

Most importantly, such a small mirror doesn’t affect the overall situation. Whether for Luna or the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, it’s negligible in consumption.

Even if these two mirror abilities are perpetually active, it won’t impact anything.

With the special mirror securely in place and both effects activated, Gu Xi took the Evil Coffin back to the Steel City Gate.

Looking at the situation outside the Steel City Gate, Gu Xi seriously said to Luna, ”In the next few days, I, Eldest Princess Anna, and Shaya will be quite busy. I leave Aryldewich City to you.”

”Rest assured, my lord. With me here, Aryldewich City will not have any issues.”

Gu Xi nodded, said no more, and stepped out of the Steel City Gate.

Outside the gate, Amirka was leading the troops in patrols and positioning.

From the current situation, it seemed like no one had noticed the unusual activity here.

Nevertheless, Amirka was meticulously arranging everything.

Just like now, he was commanding the undead to use nearby trees to build a wall, connecting the three city gates firmly together.

Between the gates and the wall was a fairly large triangular open space.

Various materials transported from Aryldewich were piled up here.

The main items were arrows and various weapons.

As quite a traditional hero, Amirka understood well how consuming battles could be in terms of weaponry.

Don’t be fooled by the skeleton soldiers carrying rusted swords.

If you really let them charge with rusted swords, they’d be the first to die.

Hence, weapons must be well-prepared, armor repaired promptly, and medical tents must be available. Only then can the troops win.

While Amirka was handling these matters, Gu Xi just happened to walk out from the Steel City Gate.

Seeing Gu Xi arrive, Amirka was taken aback.

Wasn’t it agreed that he would spend a day back at Aryldewich City?

Yet here he was, back in less than an hour.

Gu Xi didn’t explain to Amirka why he came back so quickly. Instead, he glanced around and said to Amirka, ”Doing well, keep it up.”

Seeing that Gu Xi had no intention of retracting his authority, Amirka finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He was cautiously planning to ask if Gu Xi wanted to find a place to rest first when Gu Xi added, ”Prepare well, clear out at least one piece of land. In about three hours, I’ll be able to deploy the Soul Summoning Tower.”

Hearing this, Amirka also took note of this information.

The size of the Soul Summoning Tower was still uncertain, but space must surely be reserved for it.

After all, the appearance of a Soul Summoning Tower on the battlefield denotes the undead mage’s ability to summon soldiers from the souls present.

This places the undead mage in an unbeatable position.

Though a hero himself, Amirka could also leverage the Soul Summoning Tower to replenish his forces.

This was a remarkably powerful ability, and he had to ensure it was done right.

”Rest assured, my lord, I know what to do. You a few, come over and move those things over there, clearing this open space.”

While Amirka was busy, Gu Xi wasn’t idle either.

He took out a map once more, planning his next target.

This time, Gu Xi wasn’t being too picky.

Whether it was personnel under Naviduo or neutral personnel, as long as they appeared nearby, Gu Xi planned to have a look.

His target was to battle any undead over Level 10.

As long as he didn’t kill anyone and managed to win them over later, it wouldn’t disrupt the academy’s environment. Those subdued undead might even become faculty under Gu Xi.

Gu Xi considered this, noting that he had no current subordinates.

If these undead were willing to defect, then allocating some faculty positions from the new department wasn’t out of the question.

As for professorships, given his limited capability, he planned to recruit a stronger undead to help maintain the place.

Finding such a person, however, would be troublesome.

Gu Xi’s finger trailed over the map, ultimately landing on a nearby location.

The Blood Chalice.

Isabella.

A former resident doctor of the medical wing.

Even back when the academy was still active, she was already a vampire.

The rumor was that every student taken into the medical wing was saved and swiftly restored to normalcy, at the sole price of a drop of blood each time.

This was said to be because Isabella was upgrading her treasure, the Blood Chalice.

Over the years, her Blood Chalice had collected an unknown quantity of fresh blood.

But she never left, nor could anyone tell what she was waiting for.

By the time something went wrong at the academy, she, being a neutral staff member, was trapped here too.

As for Isabella’s strength, the map said nothing specific.

It only noted her background and the duration of her presence; the rest remained unsaid.

But Gu Xi could clearly see that she had definitely lived through several transformations of the academy. Her persistence in the medical wing suggested she had different intentions.

At this moment, Gu Xi was hesitating over whether to engage her or not.
