Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 492: Chapter 490: The Vampire Bigwig Officially Joins

Gu Xi took a step forward, and Isabella, who was checking on the vampire’s condition, quickly stopped him.

”Mr. Gu, could you wait a moment? The situation might have changed.”

Gu Xi tilted his head to glance at the vampire behind Isabella. ”Is it causing you trouble?”

”No, it’s a surprise. I need to check it out now.”

Gu Xi nodded, stepped back, and stood at the entrance of the secret chamber.

Isabella soon clarified the situation.

She spoke a few words to the vampire before approaching Gu Xi.

”Mr. Gu, could we talk outside?”

”Sure.”

Gu Xi glanced at the secret chamber before him, then at the treasure chest behind the vampire, and commented lightly.

When they returned to the poolside, Isabella said excitedly yet with some concern, ”Mr. Gu, can you not attack him?”

”Is he your husband?”

Gu Xi had already guessed something while they were below.

”Yes, I didn’t expect there could be such a chance. Now, he has temporarily become the guardian of the secret chamber’s treasure chest through your task item. As long as the secret chamber remains, the treasure chest remains.

If he doesn’t leave the secret chamber, he can live.

So, Mr. Gu, even if I beg you, let this task hang, don’t complete it, let this secret chamber remain here forever.

Rest assured, I only wish for him to live; I won’t ask for more.”

”Perhaps, my department also needs a secret chamber that always exists.

If I don’t complete the task, as long as I am here, no one else can take on this task.

But I will have to spread the word externally.

Let me think about how to phrase it.

Let’s say there is a treasure inside the secret chamber that can control the academy.”

Isabella listened and shook her head repeatedly, ”Mr. Gu, the secret chamber isn’t like that. If you say there’s a treasure inside that can control the entire academy, it won’t attract much attention.

Because such a secret chamber sounds fake.

They wouldn’t even think this is a real secret chamber; they would assume it’s fake news.”

After hearing Isabella’s words, Gu Xi pondered and then said, ”Let’s phrase it like this: my secret chamber contains a treasure chest, which can automatically enhance its quality each year. When someone dies in front of it, the chest’s quality will also improve.”

Gu Xi was revealing the situation of the Bloody Treasure Chest.

Upon hearing this idea, Isabella quickly understood it was a good plan.

However, she still asked worriedly, ”Mr. Gu, the treasure chest doesn’t have that functionality.”

”It’s fine. I obtained a Bloody Treasure Chest before; although it has been opened, the chest is still there. I will have someone send it over later. You can then place the real treasure chest inside, which should deceive others.

As time passes, the power of rumors will eventually affect the chest, turning it from fake to real.”

Listening to Gu Xi’s plan, Isabella nodded in agreement.

In fact, whatever Gu Xi decided to set in his secret chamber had nothing to do with Isabella.

But now that Isabella’s husband had become the monster guarding the secret chamber, everything was connected to her.

Isabella had to consider whether her husband could effectively guard the secret chamber.

Now, with Gu Xi’s arrangement, the difficulty of the secret chamber was neither too hard nor too easy.

It wouldn’t attract too much attention, nor would it be so obscure that it wouldn’t gain recognition, fading away in the river of time.

Only this way can the secret chamber be preserved for a long time, allowing Isabella’s husband to continue existing within it.

Having heard Gu Xi’s reasonable plan, Isabella considered it briefly and agreed since the difficulty seemed just right.

After Isabella agreed, Gu Xi quickly took action.

The original casing of the Bloody Treasure Chest needed to be transported over.

This required Gu Xi to open the city gate to deliver the goods.

It was clearly inappropriate here.

Additionally, Gu Xi needed to leave evidence to prove the secret chamber belonged to him.

Without this evidence, it wouldn’t be acknowledged when the academy was reconstructed.

Leaving evidence was relatively easy for Gu Xi to solve; he just needed to leave a mark in the secret chamber with a key sent by Karim.

However, for opening the city gate, Gu Xi needed to go outside the Blood Cloud area to accomplish it.

This place was considered Isabella’s territory, and Gu Xi could see that Isabella had protected it quite thoroughly.

The Blood Cloud had effects beyond healing; it also served as protection for this place.

If someone thought this area could be freely entered, that would be an overestimation.

Gu Xi had already noticed that Isabella’s strength was evidently around level 14.

For the sake of her husband, she could exert incredible combat power.

Even fighting desperately or self-destructing was a possibility.

Even if someone like her relied on him, Gu Xi wouldn’t act recklessly.

After explaining his situation, Gu Xi quickly exited the Blood Cloud’s range.

As the main city gate opened behind him, Isabella was somewhat moved.

At the very least, Gu Xi was a decent person, which caused Isabella to entertain the idea of joining him in battle.

After the undead from Yalidu City delivered the casing of the Bloody Treasure Chest, Isabella approached Gu Xi.

She extended her hand and asked, ”Sir, do you need healing or battle now?”

”Healing.”

Without a second thought, Gu Xi immediately responded.

There were many who fought for Gu Xi, not to mention his troops, heroes, and Contracted Undead; even a Death Incarnation would suffice.

But when it came to life-saving abilities, Gu Xi was somewhat lacking.

He needed a professional healer by his side.

Upon hearing this, Isabella replied, ”In that case, I have a clone specialized in healing. Please take her with you when you leave, Mr. Gu.

I can’t guarantee much, but she can handle minor injuries.

Even on a massive battlefield with tens of thousands, she could offer aid.”

As Isabella spoke, her left hand poured out a large amount of blood from the Blood Chalice she held.

Soon, a blood-colored version of Isabella emerged from it.

She resembled Isabella’s true form closely, but she didn’t hold a silver longsword.

”Sir!”

The Blood Clone nodded at Gu Xi, standing behind him. It was clear Isabella had already given her orders when releasing this clone.

Gu Xi naturally accepted such goodwill without hesitation.

”Alright, you can follow along. Oh, do you know how to use a Healing Tent? I have one here. If you know how, feel free to use it, and I’ll get a new one.”
