Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 458: Chapter 456: Death Decree in Hand

Preparing to play a big game in the next volume, anyone want to guess what’s in store?

——————————————

”Learn Diplomacy Skill.”

After making his choice, Gu Xi took a sip of tea and pulled out another Skill Stone.

”Recruitment Skill, Recruitment Skill!”

[You used the Skill Stone and can choose one of the following three skills as a reward.]

[Recruitment Skill: A derivative skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded, increases the weekly production of creatures in the castle. At level 1, level 1 troops +3, level 2 troops +2, level 3 troops +1. (The player must stay in the castle at the end of the last day of the week for this skill to take effect.)]

[Divine: A branch route skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded, when morale is high, the increase in morale will be proportionately converted to attack power and applied to all soldiers.]

[Artificial Glory: A branch route skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded, allows war machines and golems to be affected by positive morale (negative morale is still ineffective).]

The choices that popped up this time pained Gu Xi’s heart; compared to the previous three-choice scenario, Gu Xi wanted all the options this time.

But Gu Xi had no choice; although it looked like a three-choice scenario, he had already set his path, aiming for the Death Decree.

He didn’t have more Skill Stones to choose from.

Faced with these two new branch route skills, Gu Xi gritted his teeth and said, ”Choose Recruitment Skill!”

After saying this, Gu Xi was drenched in sweat, looking like he had just been fished out of water.

However, Gu Xi had no intention of stopping there. Having successfully obtained what he wanted twice, Gu Xi naturally wouldn’t delay.

He drank all the remaining tea in one gulp and said very seriously, ”Death Decree, Death Decree!”

Only after saying that did he crush the last Skill Stone.

The next moment, Gu Xi’s eyes lit up, and he seemed much more relaxed.

[You used the Skill Stone and can choose one of the following three skills as a reward.]

[Death Decree: A derivative skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded. All neutral creatures that surrender and join the undead wizard’s troops will be automatically converted into corresponding undead creatures based on their troop level and upgraded status.]

[Balance Rune: A branch route skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded. After using Rune Magic, troop morale +2 until new Rune Magic is used.]

[Joy of Battle: A branch route skill of Leadership Skill, can be upgraded, when soldiers are in high morale, attack power doubles, duration 45 seconds.]

At this point, Gu Xi had no more hesitations.

”Death Decree!”

As Gu Xi made his choice, a skeleton wearing a black robe appeared behind him, blowing a horn.

Although this was just a virtual effect, it signified that Gu Xi had made a choice on a certain skill route.

From now on, Gu Xi could only follow this path, and the other routes seemed to be blocked.

But Gu Xi didn’t care about that.

He threw the teapot in his hand onto the ground, laughing heartily.

He originally thought that obtaining the Death Decree skill would take at least around thirty days.

Now it seemed, it wasn’t that hard after all.

After laughing, Gu Xi sat down on the ground, not wanting to move at all.

At this moment, Shaya also noticed the anomaly in Gu Xi and walked over to kick him.

”I say, my lord, what happened to you? You look like you’re in a daze after getting high?

Someone said this is called something... Sage Time?”

”Sage my ass.”

Gu Xi stood up, patting his clothes with some frustration, ”I just completed my current target, got the Death Decree. So, how’s that? Impressive, right?”

”Im... Impressive.”

Shaya glanced at Gu Xi, and she had to admit, Gu Xi’s luck was truly good.

After learning Leadership Skill, he got the Death Decree so smoothly.

But what’s with all that sweat?

Could it be that gambling on luck is also a physical task?

Actually, Shaya didn’t know that this time, Gu Xi really exerted himself to the limit; without sufficient willpower, he would have given up by the second wave.

All those visible choices were good stuff.

Some were really useful to Gu Xi.

But Eldest Princess Anna specifically wanted the Death Decree.

Gu Xi also guessed it was a prerequisite for the Death Lord mission. For the Three Divine Skills, Gu Xi gave up other opportunities to make this choice.

One could say that just then, Gu Xi felt as though his heart was drained.

Now, hearing what Shaya said, Gu Xi didn’t show a good face.

”Alright, I’ve finally accomplished a small goal, let me rest a bit and digest, then we’ll continue with the mission.”

Seeing that Gu Xi had no intention of sending her away, Shaya was also happy.

”Alright, you rest here, I’ll go take a look around.”

”Can you manage?”

”Don’t worry, my lord, exploring and gathering intel is my forte; there’s nothing I can’t handle.”

”Alright, then go ahead. Let me know if anything comes up; I really need to rest a bit.”

Gu Xi waved his hand, allowing Shaya to leave on her own.

Originally, Gu Xi intended for Shaya to inform Eldest Princess Anna, but Shaya mentioned that Eldest Princess Anna was stationed at Yaliduvi Tower.

So Gu Xi wasn’t in a hurry to act.

He could still learn three different basic skills at this Mysterious Academy.

Plus, there were still many things Gu Xi hadn’t done in this space related to Madam Sha.

He still needed to stay here for a while.

However, Gu Xi’s attitude had changed. Previously, he was quite tense, wanting to rush things.

Now, it was different; he had obtained what he wanted. The remaining tasks weren’t as urgent.

Gu Xi could leave whenever he wanted; even if he didn’t learn the other three basic skills, it didn’t matter.

Now he had no need to be so tense and just needed to relax.

The more he learns now, the more options he’ll have when advancing to Level 5 later.

Slowly lying down on the ground, Gu Xi closed his eyes.

However, Gu Xi didn’t sleep for long; before the sweat on his body could dry, Shaya rushed back from gathering information.

”My lord, my lord, wake up, it seems like someone is targeting us.”

Gu Xi, woken up, sat upright.

”Who? Don’t worry, the enemies in this world aren’t generally strong; if they come, we’ll defeat them.”

”No, my lord, look at this.”

While speaking, Shaya held up a bizarre skull.

This skull was about the same size as a normal skull, with bloody eyeballs in the sockets and a pair of bat wings on top. When caught, the wings kept flapping.

If it weren’t in Shaya’s hands, Gu Xi felt it might fly away at any moment.

It was clearly a surveillance unit.

Someone was watching Gu Xi.
