Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 472: Chapter 470: Target Locked (192/194)

The last person did not keep Gu Xi and the others waiting for long.

Soon, a new skeleton appeared on the surface of the lake. He was wearing a set of heavy armor, about the size of an average person, with a longsword hanging at his waist, two more longwords on his back, and holding a two-handed heavy sword in his hand.

It was obvious that he was not of the mage type of profession.

But Gu Xi quickly figured it out: when he first came in, no one ever said the Mysterious Academy had to only be a Magic Academy.

Such a situation as this was normal; after all, which mage would voluntarily go learn the Leadership Skill?

Never mind someone like him, an Undead Mage.

This was extremely rare.

The Thick-Armored Skeleton Swordsman arrived, and their team was finally complete.

After a brief introduction, this one was called Canaster.

A Sword Saint among Sword Saints from the Crocodile Department.

Others only wielded one longsword, but he held four in his hands alone, not counting the ones yet unseen.

Most importantly, he was the strongest in swordsmanship within the Crocodile Department.

Upon appearing, he immediately said, ”I want to take over the Crocodile Department in the future, but I won’t teach the Leadership Skill anymore. I want to teach the Attack Skill and follow the War Fanatic route afterwards.”

Gu Xi, now quite knowledgeable, could infer all sorts of information from others’ words in his mind.

[War Fanatic: Standard Advanced Skill, increases both minimum and maximum damage values of subordinate creatures by 1.]

Such an ability was directly used to enhance the attack power of subordinates.

Combined with the Attack Skill also boosting soldiers’ attack power, it was clear he aimed to stack the attack attributes of soldiers.

Having observed Canaster’s abilities, it was evident his strength lay in his swords.

While Gu Xi was observing Canaster, the latter also noticed Gu Xi.

After all, the others were well-known figures within the Mysterious Academy, while Gu Xi was clearly a newcomer, and also a living human.

Even now, Gu Xi, not even at level 5, dared to step up as a department head in the Mysterious Academy.

It took some audacity.

Naturally, Canaster took a closer look at Gu Xi to see what he was capable of.

While sizing up Gu Xi, Calimduo began outlining their plan.

The plan was divided into two steps.

Step one: take out the Black-robed Skeleton Naviduo, and seize the permissions allocated to him.

To complete the first step, they needed to remove Naviduo’s wings.

This involved dealing with nearly twenty enemies.

Among them were three of Naviduo’s professors, seven of his teaching staff, who had been by Naviduo’s side since the Academy incident, under his protection.

These individuals would also fight for Naviduo.

For instance, the Netherworld Phoenix Cavalry who had previously attacked Gu Xi was one of the teaching staff.

And Vega, who had tried to negotiate with Gu Xi earlier, was under Miranda’s authority.

Then there were Naviduo’s pets.

These were his research results, and Karimduo wasn’t sure how many there were.

The only certainty was that previously, when they encountered Naviduo in action, they had taken down a Skeleton Giant Beast, another being the colossal skeleton protecting Naviduo at the burial site.

For prudence, they accounted for five entities inside.

Lastly, there were the teaching staff who had covertly sided with Naviduo or were forced to due to permissions.

These teaching staff were the backbone of the Academy.

Though not numerous, they held significant positions, such as the late Madam Sha, who was the sole librarian of the Academy.

Also, doctors from the Medical Wing, etc.

They might not belong to a specific department but due to certain matters, they had close ties with one.

Karimduo had a grasp of such individuals, not counting those they could bring to their side or didn’t need to fight, reducing the number to less than five they really needed to battle.

So thorough calculation and comparison were necessary, needing to deal with twenty enemies before hitting Naviduo.

Some of Naviduo’s enemies were with him, some were apart.

This gave them a chance for separate attacks.

Calimduo and Miranda pointed them out one by one, while the oil painting professor sat by, watching the lake.

At this point, Canaster suddenly said, ”Oh, I understand now.”

This statement immediately attracted everyone’s attention.

Gu Xi raised his head slightly, puzzled, ”What have you understood?”

”The ring on your right hand is Orange Armor. I was wondering, how could a level 4 have the qualifications to be a department head at the Mysterious Academy? Turns out you have backing.”

Gu Xi wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Was this guy brainless? At a time like this, still thinking about this? Could mixing with such a group truly win?

Nonetheless, Gu Xi nodded, ”Yes, an orange ring; why, do you not have Orange Armor?”

Upon hearing Gu Xi’s tone, everyone, including the oil painting professor, was at a loss for words.

They wanted Orange Armor too, but was Orange Armor easy to obtain?

Many level 20 big shots didn’t even have Orange Armor.

Normally, sporting a full set of Purple at level ten, or a few pieces with weak negative effects, was considered an achievement.

Hearing about Orange Armor, they glanced more at the ring on Gu Xi’s hand.

But in the end, no one reacted much; even Canaster, who brought it up, didn’t question the effect of Orange Armor.

In ordinary people’s eyes, Orange Armor had been mythologized.

Those who possessed Orange Armor were considered significant figures.

There were even rumors that even a level 1 novice could slay a god with Orange Armor in hand.

After briefly moving past this topic, they resumed discussing their strategy against Naviduo.

This time, making a move couldn’t mean entirely splitting up to tackle Naviduo’s subordinates.

Because Naviduo wasn’t foolish; if he sensed something was wrong, he’d surely act.

Moreover, part of these enemies was with Naviduo, only seven or eight were outside.

So Calimduo turned to look at Gu Xi.

”Mr. Gu, those few enemies outside, how about you handling them?”

Gu Xi gave Calimduo a look, ”Sure, but what about permissions? Don’t expect me to bring these guys down and have none of my department’s permissions in the end.”

”That won’t happen; the four major departments have corresponding permissions clearly divided since the establishment of the Mysterious Academy. Every department head has five permissions, clearly documented, with no omissions.”

Gu Xi stared at Calimduo for a moment, finally reaching to take the target map.
