From Gu Xi’s attitude, how could Calimduo not understand, it seems he fell into Gu Xi’s trap.

However, at this moment, he also realizes that despite Gu Xi’s level not being high, his strength is not weak at all.

At least in the current situation, Gu Xi’s forces are useful.

So if Gu Xi is willing to become a department head, just give him the position.

”Discussing here isn’t great. In these mountains, I’m constantly under surveillance from that guy Naviduo, which makes things inconvenient. Let’s head to my controllable lake.”

Calimduo opened a massive blue teleportation gate in front of Gu Xi as he spoke.

The teleportation gate was large enough for even Miranda to pass through.

Knowing Calimduo’s capability, Miranda glanced at Gu Xi before lowering her head and entering the blue teleportation gate.

Gu Xi pondered for a moment before raising his hand to tidy up everything here.

After all, his troops and the city gate were stationed here.

If he leaves without recalling his forces to Yalidu City, that would be unfavorable.

Not being able to mobilize his troops is minor compared to them getting attacked here, which would be a major issue.

Before, Gu Xi wasn’t afraid of attacks because no matter who fought him, he’d have gains.

But now it’s different; Gu Xi has shares in the Mysterious Academy, and a loss there would upset him.

Thus, now is not the time for recklessness. He must strategically acquire the Mysterious Academy’s space while ensuring its integrity.

Gu Xi feels overwhelmed with tasks.

He’s not even Level 5 yet, merely Level 4.

Calimduo claims to dislike the mountain situation yet waits patiently for Gu Xi.

Once Gu Xi finishes tidying, Calimduo promptly opens another teleportation gate for him.

The moment Gu Xi steps into the teleportation gate, he feels a shift underfoot, plunging headfirst into the lake.

Fortunately, Gu Xi reacts swiftly, summoning a Water Dragon Beast to lift him onto the surface.

Yet, he is thoroughly soaked.

Clinging to the Water Dragon Beast, Gu Xi notices Calimduo, eyes brimming with amusement, observing him drenched.

”You did it on purpose?”

Gu Xi doesn’t let Calimduo off the hook simply because they’re in the same team and pointedly confronts him.

”No, it was an accident.”

Calimduo barely finishes speaking when Miranda chimes in.

”He did it deliberately; that’s his quirk. Don’t worry, you can counter him directly if needed.”

Observing Miranda’s nonchalant attitude towards the chaos, Gu Xi senses something off about this Mysterious Academy.

But neither Calimduo nor Miranda seems inclined to elaborate.

Calimduo simply gestures towards the lake while a crocodile flips belly-up and floats to the surface.

This crocodile is as long as a train carriage segment, with limbs markedly swollen and skin seemingly bursting.

Standing on the crocodile’s belly, Gu Xi realizes this creature has been dead for years.

Stepping onto the crocodile, Miranda appears puzzled.

”You haven’t given up after all these years?”

”No, Sam bore the Sword of Leadership for the Crocodile Academy for years, and every graduate remembers him. Even in death, I will keep him here.”

Looking down, Gu Xi finally understands that this crocodile once bore the Sword of Leadership on its head.

With its size, any student with some strength could easily touch the Sword of Leadership.

Still contemplating, Miranda speaks up: ”But you can’t manage the Crocodile Department anymore; do you think your students would want to teach Leadership Skill?”

Her words leave Calimduo silent.

He knows that if he truly wants to become the Mysterious Academy’s dean, sacrifices must be made.

”That’s a matter for the future. If Leadership Skill isn’t taught then, I’ll just turn a blind eye.”

As Gu Xi attempts to interject, Miranda and Calimduo, on the verge of a dispute, simultaneously close their mouths, directing their gaze elsewhere.

Turning towards that direction, Gu Xi sees, surprisingly on the water’s surface, an elderly man in medieval attire, clad in black leggings.

He walks with ease, leaving a shadow on the water with each step.

Initially, Gu Xi feels indifferent.

Yet, as he approaches, Gu Xi suddenly realizes this figure is not real; his skin, clothes, everything is painted in oil.

As he arrives, both Calimduo and Miranda bow to this elderly man.

”Professor.”

Miranda then introduces this figure to Gu Xi.

This elderly man was the dean of the Mysterious Academy two terms ago; when Calimduo was still a student, he was a professor in the Bat Department. When Lamida joined the academy, he was the department head.

He represents the standard Mysterious Academy process, progressing from faculty member to professor, then department head, eventually dean.

So regardless of his name, seeing such a senior, it’s customary to call him Professor.

Of course, he’s somewhat of an exception within the Mysterious Academy.

Others perished due to major incidents within the academy.

Only he, transformed into an oil painting after death, was hung in the academy. After a major incident, influenced by the Aura of Death, he revived unexpectedly.

Post-revival, retaining a degree of authority as former dean, he protected a group of students.

Previously, he lacked ambition.

Now things have changed. Calimduo approached him, negotiated some terms, enticing him to join Calimduo’s team.

Eventually, he will become a department head, even leveraging this capability to become the new academy’s first Dean of the Undead.

What he needs to do is quite simple, as Black-robed Skeleton Naviduo holds some dean-level authority.

This was automatically distributed to other department heads upon the academy dean’s demise and incidents involving vice-deans.

Despite its low priority control.

The professor’s role is singular: when they attack Naviduo, he disrupts Naviduo’s authority control.

As long as Naviduo loses authority, everything else simplifies, allowing Calimduo and Miranda to resolve everything here.

Naturally, they won’t disclose this; they’re waiting for the last person to arrive.
