Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 457: Chapter 455: Learning New Skills

Gu Xi did not know what happened with the Black-robed Skeleton after he left.

At this moment, he was selecting a place he considered safe, preparing to use the skill stones in his hand.

In Gu Xi’s mind, the most important thing was to deal with his own priorities first.

Everything else was a minor issue.

To ensure his safety while using the skill stones and to obtain the skills he desired, Gu Xi put a lot of thought into choosing the right place.

Upon leaving the vicinity of the Black-robed Skeleton, Gu Xi immediately headed east.

According to the map given by the Black-robed Skeleton, that area was the outskirts of a mountain range.

Additionally, Madam Sha had a quest item that needed to be found there.

Most importantly, Gu Xi noticed on the map that this area had the least number of crosses marked on it.

It seemed that this place was the least affected when the academy became lost.

So naturally, Gu Xi chose this location.

At the very least, in that location, he wouldn’t be affected by things like celestial calamities, and as for other ordinary enemies, Gu Xi wasn’t worried at all.

With a corps always at hand, Gu Xi had the ability to protect himself anywhere.

After leaving the Black-robed Skeleton, Gu Xi headed east all the way.

After approximately three hours and passing several hilltops, Gu Xi finally found a relatively quiet grove and stopped.

First, he sent out all the Stone Golems to scout the nearby situation, and then Gu Xi personally started digging a pit in the clearing of the forest.

Ever since entering this Mysterious Academy, Gu Xi had been in this space for nearly ten hours.

During these ten hours, Gu Xi hadn’t had a drop of water.

Let alone eating anything.

By now, Gu Xi was already starving.

While the Stone Golems were scouting the surroundings, Gu Xi naturally also had to consider the issue of food.

After digging the pit, Gu Xi threw some firewood into it, and a Magic Divine Arrow struck down.

After infusing it with elemental power, the Magic Divine Arrow only had a pure fire effect.

With this strike, the firewood was ignited on the spot.

After lighting the fire, Gu Xi then waved his hand around.

Three city gates appeared in a formation around Gu Xi, and a large number of Undead Corps began climbing onto the gates, readying for battle.

This was a protection for Gu Xi.

Gu Xi wasn’t entirely sure what might happen when using the skill stones, so he had to be thoroughly prepared.

After setting everything up, the undead that Gu Xi sent to Yalidov City brought back the items he specifically requested.

Roasted owl and a large cup of water, this was the food Gu Xi prepared for himself.

”My lord.”

Along with the food came Shaya.

Gu Xi was somewhat surprised by Shaya’s appearance.

”Shaya, why did you come out?”

”I had nothing to do in the city, so I came out to take a look.”

Shaya explained the current situation in Yalidov City to Gu Xi.

At this moment, Di Mi had already begun attacking Yalidov City from the Tudor Dynasty era, and with the start of the battle, Eldest Princess Anna immediately went to Yaliduvi Tower to take command.

She said it was a British tradition.

When major events happen in Britain, the royal family always stays in Victoria Tower.

Although it’s not Victoria City now, Yalidov and Victoria are a mirror image.

As the royal family’s eldest princess, she had to be stationed at Yaliduvi Tower at this time.

Meanwhile, Luna was delivering the stone Gu Xi sent back.

Regarding the stone and the longsword inserted into it, Luna believed it was the most suitable material for the Sacred Artifact, the Sword of Courage, to grow.

Now she was finding a way to integrate everything from here into the Sword of Courage.

Luna had already concluded that once the stone and the longsword were fully absorbed, the Sword of Courage could be upgraded to at least level 2.

As for Shaya, she had been sorting out intelligence at the tavern and the library.

However, the information accumulated there wasn’t much.

She only took a quick look and categorized the information.

Most of the information was useless, and since she was idle now and didn’t want to go to Victoria City, she simply came to protect Gu Xi.

Seeing the serious look on Shaya’s face, Gu Xi could only say, ”Then you can stay.”

After saying this, Gu Xi’s attention shifted to the roasted owl.

”What’s with the White Bone Barmaid? Why can’t she keep up with food? I’ve eaten there for so long, and it’s always the same few dishes, no new ideas.”

”The main issue is there’s not much to choose from, and the things available to eat in the city are limited; my lord is picky and doesn’t eat many things, so how can it be managed? In the end, roasting owl is the only option.

But this owl tastes not bad; at least it doesn’t have a mouse flavor.

Oh, my lord, what are you doing?”

”Preparing to boil some hot water to make tea.”

The tea Gu Xi referred to was a few ounces of golden cake; last time when entering the academy, he was in a rush and used the oldest method of drinking tea—a piece of tea leaf and a big gulp of water, which sent him right here.

While the result was the same, Gu Xi clearly felt something was off.

This time, Gu Xi planned to properly and earnestly brew the tea, at least make it look right.

Seeing the serious look on Gu Xi’s face, Shaya also laughed.

”My lord, I am quite adept at making tea; would you like me to make it?”

”Forget it, you’ll add all sorts of things to the tea; I’d better make it myself.”

While speaking, Gu Xi had already boiled the water that was delivered.

This time, Gu Xi truly didn’t use a drop of water from this world; everything was self-supplied.

After tossing two tea leaves into the water, Gu Xi wasn’t eager to drink the scalding tea but sat there watching intently.

When the tea changed from light yellow to golden yellow, he then took a sip and subsequently took out the skill stone, squeezing it hard.

”Diplomacy Skill, Diplomacy Skill.”

As the skill stone was crushed by Gu Xi, a prompt popped up in front of him.

[You have used a skill stone and can choose one of the following three skills as a reward.]

[Diplomacy Skill: Skill that branches from Leadership Skill, can be upgraded, increases the chance of recruiting wild troops and reduces the cost of surrendering.]

[Death Curse: Skill that branches from Leadership Skill path, can be upgraded, reduces enemy morale on the battlefield with each level reducing enemy morale by one point.]

[Morale Balance Scale: Skill that branches from Leadership Skill path, can be upgraded, equalizes the morale disparity on the battlefield, allowing both sides’ troops to be in zero morale state.]

Seeing this, Gu Xi suddenly understood the hint when learning Leadership Skill.

Leadership Skill, when used in the Undead Mage’s morale-less troop, indeed had some fancy features.
