”My lord, do you know her?”

”Yes, I talked to her before. She has her own demands, and her character is not bad. I can’t help her, nor do I want to make things difficult for her. She simply wants to be a doctor here.”

Gu Xi spoke while leaving with Shaya.

As they walked out, Gu Xi reviewed Isabella’s situation.

The intelligence Shaya brought over this time was much more detailed.

As Gu Xi had previously communicated with Isabella and suspected, Isabella stayed here to collect special blood that wouldn’t affect her husband.

Ensuring her husband would not accidentally change from a wise vampire to a sacrificial soldier on the battlefield in some fight.

Gu Xi could recruit Isabella now, but wanting her to join his academy or take her to Yalidu City was unlikely.

She has been in this academy for so long and already has her foundation.

Her position as a school doctor is unaffected by changes in the academy, but joining Gu Xi’s academy could leave her vulnerable in case something happens to Gu Xi.

Isabella is smart; she knows how to choose.

When she last met Gu Xi, she communicated with him and helped treat him intentionally.

This time when Gu Xi appeared in front of Isabella again, she came out proactively.

”Oh, it’s Mr. Gu, can I call you Director Gu now?”

”No, you should call me Professor Gu instead; Director Gu sounds too awkward.”

Listening to Isabella call someone director, it always feels like the New York City First People’s Hospital.

Gu Xi is quite unaccustomed to this situation.

”Alright then, Mr. Gu, are you here this time to help treat that little girl behind you?

Her situation is way worse than yours. The knife on her greatly affects her. You better let her find ways for long-term nourishment, otherwise, even the undead can’t withstand daily injuries.”

Isabella immediately saw through Shaya’s condition.

Shaya’s foundation is actually not as good as Luna’s.

She only relies on her body and some pieces of materials from Gu Xi’s hand to be put together.

If it weren’t for the sudden mutation of the materials in Gu Xi’s hand and the power of the Contracted Undead, Shaya might not have managed to crawl up from the underground.

The biggest feature of the Well Dragon’s Chant weapon is that it hurts its owner first, causing severe injuries once a day.

Occasionally, it also needs to draw some blood.

Although it can be replenished quickly, it’s still damaging to Shaya.

Over time, it can harm some of the fundamental aspects.

Being pointed out by Isabella, Shaya was somewhat surprised.

”However, since you’ve come, naturally I’ll help you out. Come in, and I’ll give you a treatment to ensure at least one year without problems.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi looked towards Shaya.

Shaya then understood what Gu Xi meant when he said Isabella knows how to treat people.

”Thank you.”

After Shaya spoke, she walked into the Blood Cloud.

At that moment, Gu Xi turned to Isabella and said, ”I know what you’re seeking, I have no intention to recruit you, just wanted to ask if there’s anything I can help you with.”

”I want a Haunted Mansion.”

Isabella stated her request.

Gu Xi looked rather surprised at Isabella; she didn’t seem like a vampire from the Haunted Mansion.

Perhaps noticing Gu Xi’s thoughts, Isabella smiled wryly, ”We are naturally Haunted Mansion-style vampires. We just came out in recent years, and turned into this.”

Gu Xi understood; Haunted Mansion-style vampires are in a special situation.

They can truly resurrect on the battlefield anytime.

Such battlefield resurrection does not belong to the Soul Summoning Skill of the Undead Mage.

Moreover, as long as they’re still on the battlefield, they can quickly resurrect with the enemy’s blood.

It’s a powerful resurrection skill.

But also a great trouble.

Because after resurrecting many times, vampires can’t judge how they were resurrected.

It’s fine if it’s just a soldier.

But encountering such intelligent vampires is different.

If the resurrection mechanism fails, after missing the chance to summon thrice, that person might really be dead.

Now Isabella’s husband is in such a situation.

If resurrected by blood again, he might become just a regular vampire soldier.

As for resurrection by Soul Summoning Skill, Isabella doesn’t dare to gamble now.

If there’s a chance, great; if not, Isabella would indeed cry.

Upon recalling, Gu Xi still asked, ”It’s simple to have a Haunted Mansion, regardless of whether it’s the Architectural Design Plan or materials; I can provide them, but where do you plan to build it?

And if the Haunted Mansion is built seriously, can your friend really be alright?”

”No, I only hope to provide my husband a place to sleep peacefully.”

Listening to Isabella, Gu Xi felt something was amiss.

”What, you don’t plan to save him anymore?”

”I do, but the hope is so slim, I don’t know how long I can keep going.

When I’m around, his body can still be preserved well, without being tainted by blood.

But if I’m not, then he’s truly gone.”

Listening to Isabella, Gu Xi couldn’t help but say:

”Why not send your husband’s body to the secret chamber?”

Isabella looked up at Gu Xi.

Gu Xi froze for a bit, and then seeing Isabella’s expression, finally said, ”You know that every academy has its own exclusive secret chamber, mine hasn’t been built yet.

If I point to someplace now and call it the secret chamber, it counts.

This opportunity, I can offer you to use it, anyway, my academy will surely be undead-oriented in the future.

The place is filled with necromantic energy, can ensure that the body stays inside without issues.

Along with other techniques, just prevent blood from entering.”

Upon hearing this, Isabella’s eyes lit up too, she stared at Gu Xi for a long time, and finally asked.

”What do you want in return?”

”Treatment!”

”Sure, I’ll help you.”

Isabella immediately understood Gu Xi’s meaning; he was eyeing her treatment capability.

This offered a condition she couldn’t refuse.

Upon hearing Isabella’s response, Gu Xi extended his hand, ”Welcome to join us, from now on in the academy you’re still the school doctor, but there’ll be another identity as the secret chamber’s guardian of my academy. Except me, only those acknowledged by you can enter the secret chamber to access its... treasure!”
