Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 462: Chapter 460: Battle of the Mad Willow Forest

Outside a grove of willows, Gu Xi stopped the Evil Coffin.

After half an hour of trekking, Gu Xi finally arrived at the designated location.

The willow grove ahead had a pretty good name on the map, Mad Willow Forest.

All the willow trees planted here are the kind of Mad Willows that automatically strike people.

According to the map, when the academy was first established, there was only one Mad Willow here. Over time, students would often come to battle the Mad Willow.

If they win, they can obtain a branch of the Mad Willow.

This serves as the best material for crafting Magic Wands and Bats.

Of course, if they die, they leave behind a lot of flesh and blood here.

Whether the students win or lose, something will always increase in the woods.

Over time, the single Mad Willow tree turned into a Mad Willow Forest.

In this forest, where normal creatures face attacks from all directions upon entry, only those with very high speed or the most agile animals can survive.

According to the map, a large group of white-furred rats resides here.

The skin of these rats is quite special. Once peeled and turned inside out, it becomes dark red and seems to be on fire.

Therefore, these rats are also called flame rats or fire rats.

This time Gu Xi came intending to find a sharp tooth of the Fire Rat King.

But halfway there, the person needing the Fire Rat King’s tooth died, leaving Gu Xi a bit helpless, but also with new ideas.

Students can come to fight the Mad Willow, so he can too.

This entire area is for Gu Xi to conquer; there’s no need to specialize in capturing rats.

Glancing at the situation in the willow forest, Gu Xi raised his hand and released his City Gate.

This time, Gu Xi used the Garrison Gate.

With the emergence of the Tree Pit of the Dead, the willows in Mad Willow Forest also quickly moved.

Standing atop the gate tower of the Garrison Gate, Gu Xi looked towards Mad Willow Forest a hundred meters away and found that the name Mad Willow was very fitting. The Tree Pit of the Dead was just nearby, and these Mad Willows swung their tentacle-like branches, continuously striking into the distance.

Even knowing they would miss, they had no intention of stopping.

This reckless punching method made Gu Xi feel quite speechless.

If one is not careful and rushes in, they’re certain to be beaten to death by these Mad Willows immediately.

Most importantly, Gu Xi noticed that these branches carried a significant destructive force, but he could tell it wasn’t aimed at all creatures.

It was, in fact, aimed at the Undead.

Gu Xi wasn’t quite clear on the principle, but he believed that during the academy’s troubles over the years, no one came to provoke the Mad Willow Forest for a reason.

Facing such enemies now, of course, Gu Xi wouldn’t use a Skeleton Sea type of Undead impact method.

After discovering this situation, Gu Xi immediately mobilized all his magic and ranged troops, including a few Corpse Witches and Withered, and even the Wangyan Musician was on Gu Xi’s roster.

Once all the ranged and magic system troops were summoned, Gu Xi pointed to the Mad Willow Forest ahead.

”I don’t care what method you use; cover it and shoot directly, layer by layer like peeling an onion, without getting too close. We have all the time we need.”

With Gu Xi’s order given, the leaders of the Undead Shooters quickly sprang into action, each showing their skills, some focusing the fire of the Undead Shooters on a target, while others designated a range for covering fire.

Some, relying on their long range, stood towards the back positions to shoot.

The Undead Mage leaders did the same, though they had more tricks up their sleeves.

Skeleton Mages using the Fireball Skill gathered and dared to call their attack a Meteor Fire Rain.

Those Skeleton Mages using Ice Arrows naturally bragged about mastering Blizzard’s attack method.

From initially concentrating their attacks on one spot, they gradually attacked their own way layer by layer into the depths of Mad Willow Forest.

Facing such an assault, the Mad Willows in Mad Willow Forest still wanted to counterattack.

But they couldn’t match Gu Xi’s Tree Pit of the Dead.

The Tree Pit of the Dead, whether as Tree-men or Tree Spirits, even when rooted, had stronger defense power, but they could move somewhat.

These Mad Willows, swinging their tentacle-like branches, were strong, but they couldn’t move.

As long as one stayed out of their attack range, they couldn’t do much.

When Gu Xi employed long-range attacks, these Mad Willows had no chance.

Not to mention Gu Xi applied various tactics.

Precise concentrated fire for long-range attacks, varied magic attacks.

Even Wangyan Musician released a large number of Rotting Skin Rats, sending them into Mad Willow Forest.

These Rotting Skin Rats truly did Gu Xi a great favor.

While Gu Xi was attacking the Mad Willows, the Fire Rats inside actually wanted to come out and help.

After all, they knew Mad Willows were their safety guarantee.

Without Mad Willows, they couldn’t survive here.

With their speed and numbers, if they really charged at Gu Xi’s troops, they would certainly cause some trouble for the Archer Team and Magic Corps.

But Wangyan Musician’s Rotting Skin Rats happened to clash with these Fire Rats.

Although the combat power of Rotting Skin Rats was lacking, and they were fewer in number compared to the Fire Rats,

they reminded Gu Xi.

Gu Xi immediately dispatched Corpse Poison Flies and placed Bone Locusts at the forefront of the Archer Team.

After arranging this, Gu Xi then ordered the Rice Straw Hunters to deploy crows to attack the Fire Rats.

With such a multi-pronged attack, the Fire Rats couldn’t reach Gu Xi’s Archer Team.

Gu Xi also began to make some backup plans, deploying a few Skeleton Squads to be ready to step into the battle at any time.

After arranging everything, Gu Xi even considered whether to deploy more units like Corpse Poison Flies or Bone Locusts.

After all, as Gu Xi’s level increases, the situations he will face will multiply.

Enemies will also become more diverse.

Small enemies like these are likely to appear.

To defeat such small enemies, you either counter small with small, many with many, or use range magic attacks.

Regardless of whether he will encounter such enemies in the future, Gu Xi has to be prepared.

As Gu Xi pondered this issue, his troops had already breached the inner circle of Mad Willow Forest, where a large Mad Willow appeared before Gu Xi.
