Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 453: Chapter 451: Slaying and Spoils

[Death Incarnation (Spell Product) slays Death Giant Armor (Level 10), you gain 2455 experience points (overflow stored 2455 points), other summoned creatures gain 3015 experience points.]

Death Giant Armor.

That was the name of the giant armor from earlier.

But now it no longer exists.

After the chest armor was torn open, its body collapsed into numerous armor fragments.

Upon receiving the notification of the kill, Gu Xi did not rush to clean up the battlefield but sent his subordinates into the valley to check if there were any other unusual presences.

After waiting for about seven or eight minutes, once the Stone Golems returned safely, Gu Xi waved his hand, signaling for the prepared Ghost Squad to start flying out from the Steel City Gate.

The Ghost Squads were actually watching the battle from the rear all along.

However, there was only one enemy this time, and Gu Xi was a bit uncertain about the enemy’s strength, so they didn’t come out.

Now the situation had changed.

The Ghost Squad was extremely quick in cleaning up the battlefield.

They immediately dragged away all the armor fragments of the Death Giant Armor.

As for the remaining Aura of Death, not a trace was left behind.

After all, every Undead Corps present could devour the Aura of Death.

Except for the Bone Locusts, who had been ordered by Gu Xi not to devour the Aura of Death, all other Undead Corps wouldn’t let go of it once they got a hold of it.

Thus, aside from the Death Incarnation inhaling four times and absorbing half of the Aura of Death, the Earth-bound Deceitful Dragon swallowed about an eighth of it.

The rest was completely devoured by Gu Xi’s subordinates, the undead.

Gu Xi even noticed that even the nearby Tree Pit of the Dead, Rice Straw Hunter, and the two Steel City Gates were affected, and the gates had grown taller and larger under the influence of the Aura of Death.

Upon discovering this situation, Gu Xi gave up on recovering the Aura of Death and simply instructed the Ghost Squad to bring all the remaining skulls to him.

The skulls that had been used as a cloak on the back of the Death Giant Armor were now all sorted, and the Skull Flowers within them were separately picked out.

Looking at the Skull Flower in his hand, Gu Xi couldn’t help but sigh—it was definitely more comfortable to have minions. He couldn’t possibly find the right items among so many skulls by himself.

After all, Gu Xi also couldn’t examine each skull in a short amount of time.

Just judging by appearance, Skull Flowers and ordinary skeletons really had no difference.

Now it was different, Skull Flowers were placed in one pile, ordinary skulls in another, and a third pile held broken skulls and miscellaneous items.

Because they had been with the Skull Flowers for a long time on the Death Giant Armor, the ordinary skulls had absorbed a significant amount of Aura of Death.

These, in Gu Xi’s eyes, could serve as decent materials.

While not suitable for summoning, they could be used as decorations for new undead or to increase the success rate of summoning new undead.

Gu Xi picked up ten Skull Flowers, which were the objective of this task.

After carefully storing them away, he pointed at everything else and said, ”Send the rest to the Wharf Warehouse. Also, let Kane study these Skull Flowers to see what their purpose is.”

Gu Xi was curious about these Skull Flowers.

Because they clearly weren’t a special variety.

Among ten to fifteen skulls, there would be one Skull Flower.

Excluding the ten Gu Xi intended to hand over for the task, there were at least over 300 more.

You could say it wasn’t anything important, but the Black-robed Skeleton insisted on using these Skull Flowers as task items.

There must be something that Gu Xi was unaware of.

Gu Xi couldn’t figure out the issue then, so he decided to have Kane, who had knowledge in herbalism, study them further.

Originally, it would have been better to leave this to Di Mi.

However, Di Mi was preparing to go on an expedition, so disturbing her now was not ideal.

While Gu Xi was dealing with these items, the Stone Golems sent to the depths of the valley flew back.

As the Stone Golems returned, the Ghost Squad was preparing to bring back the giant axe initially used by the Death Giant Armor.

When Gu Xi heard them flying back, he looked up, and the glare from the giant axe nearly blinded him.

When the Stone Golems finally landed, Gu Xi stepped forward to inquire.

”So, was there anything else discovered in the valley?”

The Stone Golems gestured continuously.

Based on his prior experience of communicating with them, Gu Xi interpreted their motions.

No enemies, something valuable deep in the valley, not far, can go.

Considering their gestures, Gu Xi contemplated and then retracted the Steel City Gate, pointing to the Ghost Squad and commanding, ”Transport all these things back.”

Then, Gu Xi leapt onto the Evil Coffin, leading his subordinates towards the depths of the valley.

With the Stone Golems guiding the way, having experience in scouting, Gu Xi’s pace quickened considerably.

The Evil Coffin surged through several areas, leaving no chance for Gu Xi to look back.

Due to such aggressive thrust, Gu Xi reached the depths of the valley in less than four minutes.

After climbing off the Evil Coffin, Gu Xi’s first glance revealed that the now dark green pool was where the Death Giant Armor had stayed.

The pond was covered with thick green duckweed, but Gu Xi understood it was the result of many corpses bathing in the water and exploding into fragments after forming a giant figure.

Without tens of thousands of corpses, there wouldn’t be such dark green, nearly black pool water.

What drew Gu Xi’s attention, though, was the Longsword embedded at the rear of the pool.

This Longsword was one used by an ordinary person, emitting a bright cold light from the dark green pond.

It stood out in the dark green water, drawing immediate attention.

It was a fine sword.

Gu Xi had that initial thought.

But then, he remembered something.

The Black-robed Skeleton had mentioned leadership skills were found from a lake by extracting a sword from a crocodile’s forehead.

Could it be this very sword?

Gu Xi’s heart skipped a beat.

However, he quickly shook his head.

If it really was this sword, the Black-robed Skeleton wouldn’t have insisted on retrieving Skull Flowers.

Thinking it over, Gu Xi eventually decided to pull the sword out to take a look.
