Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 434: Chapter 432: Dark Farm District

After inspecting around, Gu Xi landed on the other side of the Green Lake District. Once he left, he exited the main city of Yalidu City.

Ahead was the passage leading to Yaliduvi Tower. A new district, the Dark Farm District, had already been established here.

This was a new area Gu Xi had never visited before, occupying the position to the right of the Steel City Gate, extending all the way to the Green Lake District.

The reason for this arrangement was that the Dark Farm District was a farm, and placing it here made irrigation easy.

Before the integration of the Dark Farm District, several plots of varying sizes were developed along the way to Yaliduvi Tower.

Now, a part of them has also been integrated into the Dark Farm District.

Currently, besides the original five large training camps in the Dark Farm District, there are two large training camps (not occupying plots) in the Abandoned Farmland and the Green Onion Forest, along with a vacant large plot.

When Gu Xi landed on the edge of the Green Lake District, the first thing he saw was the Abandoned Farmland, overgrown with weeds.

As he walked through this area, he would occasionally see large numbers of locusts leaping out of the ground.

These locusts, like the Corpse Poison Flies in Gu Xi’s hand, were also calculated in groups of three to five hundred.

Because of their small size and weak life force, they were the first to be influenced by the Blood Maple and transformed into Undead Creatures.

A special type of locust developed a white bone exoskeleton.

[Bone Locust (Level 1): Attack 2, Defense 1, Life 2, Skills: Insect Swarm State, Devour Everything, Flying Team.]

Compared to ordinary locusts, these Bone Locusts have slightly enhanced life force, but compared to Corpse Poison Flies, they are still insignificant and can only serve as a supplement in battles.

Without battles, these Bone Locusts would lie across the Abandoned Farmland, appearing like an endless field of white bone fragments.

After passing the Abandoned Farmland, Gu Xi saw a Pumpkin Field, where black mysterious creatures occasionally appeared. As they passed by the pumpkins, those pumpkins would turn into jack-o’-lanterns, devouring the mysterious creatures.

This situation startled Gu Xi, but he noticed there were no soldiers patrolling here.

Gu Xi furrowed his brow, about to ask something, when he discovered the black mysterious creatures were emerging from a nearby blood-red forest.

This discovery made Gu Xi pause. As he approached the forest, he was hit by a strong scent of blood.

On many large trees in the forest, human-like tree knots were growing, bursting open every minute to release black seeds.

These seeds would hit the ground and transform into black mysterious creatures, heading toward the Pumpkin Field to be devoured by the pumpkins.

Only a few black mysterious creatures succeeded in making a round in the Pumpkin Field, dragging a pumpkin back to the forest.

If they could drag the pumpkin back to the forest, they would be buried underground, and soon they would grow into new Tree Pits of the Dead.

This must be the interaction between the Blood-colored Forest and the Pumpkin Field.

Gu Xi observed for a while and then moved on, finding a small path between the Pumpkin Field and the Blood-colored Forest.

Following the path forward, Gu Xi noticed the road surface becoming flat, the original dirt road turned into bluestone. After crossing a small hill with an empty grain warehouse, Gu Xi arrived at a large tomb made of bricks and stones.

A thick white mist enveloped the tomb in front of him. Several Corpse Witches were moving back and forth outside the tomb.

These Corpse Witches looked similar to Skeleton Mages, except they wore white cloaks and crowns on their heads, holding long magic staffs as tall as themselves.

Gu Xi also noticed the robes on these Corpse Witches were lined with silver scale armor, clearly distinguishing them from Skeleton Mages.

When they saw Gu Xi, the Corpse Witches would bow to him.

”The Corpse Witches haven’t been recruited?”

”No, they’ve all been recruited. The Astrologer’s Tower in the city is complete, and every Monday there’s the weekly astrology reminder. To avoid problems, all training camp troops are recruited every Monday.

The ones appearing here are probably Corpse Witches that can only complete their training next week or the week after.”

Luna immediately explained to Gu Xi.

”That seems like quite a number.”

”Training a Corpse Witch takes at least a month, which is why there are untrained Corpse Witches here.”

The Eldest Princess Anna, who had been following along, commented, as she understood the High-tier Undead Corps like the Corpse Witches very well.

Even though Gu Xi’s Undead Knowledge had improved, some knowledge wasn’t just known after reaching a level; without direct contact, there were many things he didn’t understand.

Now, listening to this explanation, Gu Xi slowly understood.

”So the seeds stealing the pumpkins from the Pumpkin Field earlier were actually preparing for a future Tree Pit of the Dead unknown duration away?”

”That’s right.”

The Eldest Princess Anna nodded.

Gu Xi then realized, although it was a game, there were some underlying logics within it.

Perhaps in various training camps, they believed they were ordinary creatures.

At least the trained troops weren’t created from nothing.

”I understand.”

Nodding, Gu Xi’s gaze turned to the other side of the Mist Tomb, where there was a glowing garden.

The garden was filled with numerous large, bright red or pale yellow flowers, but Gu Xi could see from a distance that those flowers had sharp teeth.

These flowers were obviously not to be trifled with, and among them, some half-meter tall, gray, translucent-winged Little Elves were flying back and forth.

Those elf-like beings were, of course, the weakest unit of the Dark Farm, the Ghost Butterflies.

Their attack and defense were comparable to locusts, just with a slightly higher life than the locusts.

Flying among the Cannibal Flowers, Gu Xi noticed they would extract some Soul Fragments from the flowers and take them away.

This aroused Gu Xi’s curiosity, so he followed from afar and arrived at the Ghost Butterfly’s birthplace, the Ghost Butterfly Garden.

This was a community of small houses made of flowers. The Ghost Butterflies would force the Soul Fragments into each small house.

Before long, the empty houses would light up, and a new Ghost Butterfly would emerge from inside.
