Wang Baogen glanced at Gu Xi, mustered his last bit of courage, and said earnestly, ”Brother, you must help Brother Xia.”

”I know, you don’t need to say anything more, I’ve got this.”

After arranging for Wang Baogen to leave, Gu Xi’s face turned gloomy.

He could tell that Wang Baogen’s words were not his own.

Because when he saw him, there was a noticeable pause in his gaze.

At the same time, Gu Xi was also well aware that except for him, no one else knew how Xia Yi died.

At least Wang Baogen wasn’t on the scene; he wouldn’t know who Xia Yi died at the hands of.

He’s rushing over now to hasten me, probably because the Life-taking Stone noticed that Gu Xi hasn’t shown up or made any preparations.

Or perhaps the Life-taking Stone learned of Gu Xi’s preparations from other players but didn’t know what Gu Xi was planning to do.

Now wanting to lure Gu Xi out, at least to make Gu Xi leave his city of Yalidu.

The situation ahead alerted Gu Xi that the Life-taking Stone was already anxious, indicating that his time was running out.

The more it was like this, the less likely Gu Xi would go out.

He wasn’t even planning on staying in the Mysterious Mirror Image Space forever, nor keeping an eye on the situation outside.

The current Gu Xi was going with the flow.

Set things up with fate, and act with fate in the end.

Even Gu Xi himself didn’t know when he planned to act.

At the same time, Gu Xi was ready to exit the Grand Ceremony early.

He was certainly aware that leaving the White Training Grand Ceremony early this time amounted to giving up all the rewards.

But compared to his own safety, leaving early was nothing.

As all the players withdrew from the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, Gu Xi followed Luna’s method, severed the connection between the space and the outside, and then returned to the city of Yalidu.

Upon entering Yalidu, Gu Xi noticed that after just one day, the city had changed again, and there were more ghosts and ghost souls wearing Japanese-style clothes on the streets.

They walked around the streets with puzzled expressions, seemingly unaware of where they were.

And the undead Gu Xi had left in the city of Yalidu ignored these, as long as the ghosts and ghost souls didn’t disturb anything on the streets, they acted as if they hadn’t seen them.

Thus, these ghosts and ghost souls wandered back and forth on the streets, not knowing what to do.

Seeing them like this, a thought crossed Gu Xi’s mind: whether to assign someone to manage the city’s residents.

Now in the city of Yalidu, it’s no longer just the undead corps stationed there; residents are also living there, and the number of these residents will only grow, and if they are not organized, the city will become more chaotic later on.

Instead, by organizing these ghosts and ghost souls, they could do many things.

They could even be sent to work in nearby blacksmith shops or to mine in caves.

This could somewhat speed up the construction of the city of Yalidu.

With this in mind, Gu Xi took a turn around the city of Yalidu under the cover of night.

He found that in other districts, there were also quite a few of these ghosts and ghost souls.

The most were in the Magic Plant District, where they were continually gathering under the Blood Maple Tree or by Evil Wood Lake—it was apparent how strongly these two places attracted the ghosts and ghost souls.

Gu Xi didn’t stop this event.

He knew that Yalidu couldn’t rely only on his undead corps; the city’s residents were the true foundation of the city.

But just as Gu Xi was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a situation.

The ghosts and ghost souls were merely moving between the Blood Maple Tree and Evil Wood Lake, and gradually, the number of ghosts and ghost souls would increase.

This situation wasn’t quite right.

Gu Xi hurriedly walked two laps with them.

Then Gu Xi discovered something: every time they walked from under the largest Blood Maple Tree to the edge of Evil Wood Lake, the Six Paths Reincarnation Base by the lake would slightly glow.

Subsequently, some new ghosts joined the group, and Gu Xi couldn’t pinpoint where they came from, but it was evident that these newly joined ghosts and ghost souls were no longer in the Japanese style.

Among them, some British-style presences began to appear.

This somewhat surprised Gu Xi.

He looked at the Blood Maple Tree and the Six Paths Reincarnation Base, wondering if this was the key to the transformation of ghosts and ghost souls.

Gu Xi recorded this matter, intending to ask Luna about it when she returned, to see if the appearance of the ghosts and ghost souls here had a direct connection to Victoria City.

At this time, Luna and Eldest Princess Anna were oblivious to Gu Xi’s thoughts, as they continued forward through the mist along the route pointed out by the Eldest Princess.

Behind Eldest Princess Anna were several undead converted from Holy Knights.

Without Gu Xi needing to explain, Eldest Princess Anna knew herself that the Undead Mage couldn’t bring Death Knights, even if she had become a Witch Demon.

Following her were Holy Knights, all converted to the lowest level of ghouls, yet still clad in their original golden or silver armor. Even though their bodies were twisted beyond recognition, their armor hadn’t come off.

Simultaneously, the weapons in their hands had merged with their hands, becoming part of their arms. In their hands, some held longswords, others held war axes.

Due to the ghoul’s movements, their arms almost dragged on the ground, resulting in their weapons naturally dragging on the ground, producing a scraping sound as they moved forward.

Such creatures, looking like ghouls but obviously stronger, left Luna speechless.

She could clearly see that Eldest Princess Anna did not just summon ghouls, but whenever she did, the level and combat capability of the summoned ghouls exceeded normal summoning standards.

The ghouls before her were at Level 8 in terms of Super Step—hardly resembling ghouls. People would likely think they’re Death Knights, missing only a horse.

Most notably, if these ghouls closed their mouths, their faces were relatively normal.

Looking at them, they truly lived up to the knights’ handsome faces, and their skin wasn’t decayed here or there like other undead—this aspect made them far superior to high-tier undead like Death Knights.

And Eldest Princess Anna seemed to have a method for locating dead Holy Knights; she could accurately find each Holy Knight’s body and transform them into ghouls.

Following the path of fallen Holy Knights, it became easy to find the correct route.

Thus, amid the mist, they easily arrived at the place where Eldest Princess Anna had perished in battle.
