”Something’s very wrong. Even though it’s already the final day of the White Training Grand Ceremony, the level of attack shouldn’t be this terrifying.”

On the morning of the seventh day, Zuo Ya found Gu Xi.

With a serious look, he said, ”I’m afraid we won’t make it through the last night. I want to ask, can we hide in your Death City to get through this last day?

If not, I’m going to withdraw. I can’t have my brothers waiting here to die.”

Faced with Zuo Ya’s question, Gu Xi hesitated for a moment before finally speaking with some uncertainty, ”I’m not sure if my city will be discovered.”

”What do you mean by ’not sure’?”

Zuo Ya gave Gu Xi a glare.

Gu Xi didn’t answer. He couldn’t possibly say that, for now, the opponent has no way in, but he can’t guarantee that after making a grand move, his Yalidov will still hold.

If discovered, his choice would surely be to give up and withdraw from this White Training Grand Ceremony.

Seeing Gu Xi’s helpless look, Zuo Ya understood that Gu Xi couldn’t guarantee anything.

He made a decisive decision.

Abandon this White Training Grand Ceremony and just take the people back. As for others who want to wait for the final outcome here, that’s their own choice. If they come out alive, Zuo Ya and his group won’t be envious, and if they die, Zuo Ya won’t be sad for them either.

However, when leaving, Zuo Ya took another look at Gu Xi.

”If you’re not confident in protecting everyone, just be honest with them. Don’t give them any hope.”

”I will clarify things, but many people will still have a fluke mindset. They think they can find a hiding place, only to end up unable to escape.”

Gu Xi understood that Zuo Ya was trying to make him realize something, so he responded.

Zuo Ya immediately understood the meaning behind Gu Xi’s words and nodded to him.

At this point, Gu Xi added, ”If you go out now, I’m afraid you won’t be able to withdraw from this ceremony. If you’re willing to trust me, then leave from my city.”

Zuo Ya was taken aback; he hadn’t expected Gu Xi to make such a suggestion.

He was about to refuse when Gu Xi spoke, ”Yesterday during the day, a friend of mine already noticed something was wrong. I told him to hide in my city for a night.

He agreed, saying he would go out to handle some daytime matters and return before dark.

The result...”

There was no need for Gu Xi to say more; Zuo Ya immediately understood that the situation outside had changed.

It’s not even safe during the day now.

As for whether Gu Xi’s words were trustworthy, Zuo Ya didn’t think Gu Xi needed to lie to him.

So he went to the players, calling not only those from the Corpse Bone Fish Dragon Guild but also some players he was familiar with.

They discussed right in front of Gu Xi.

Soon, they made the decision. Since they all had to leave anyway, it didn’t matter where they left from.

If they couldn’t get out now, what could they do?

As for whether this could be Gu Xi deceiving them, who cared? After all, they had no points ranking this time, and they already got the good stuff they should have.

As long as they could preserve their lives, they’d naturally receive rewards from the guild when they go back.

If they died here, that would truly be the end.

So after the ten or so people discussed, they chose to retreat right in front of the crowd.

[Bailian City Zuo Ya, exits this world!]

[Bailian City Fang Xiaoyou, exits this world!]

[Bailian City...]

As player after player left, nearby players busy trading noticed the situation.

The players still alive up to now were all quite shrewd. They were aware of the outside situation, which was quite unfavorable for them.

Zuo Ya and his group’s departure further indicated they didn’t have confidence in surviving under such conditions.

So some timid or already profitable players made the same decision, beginning to exit this world.

However, while some were willing to exit early, others were stubbornly determined.

They thought, having endured to the last day, finding a place to hide shouldn’t be a problem; it’s not like the world would be destroyed.

If they could survive tonight, they would be considered successful players of the ceremony.

Other guilds would have to acknowledge they were superior in certain aspects to those sent by their guilds.

So even for such a reputation, they were willing to stay.

Besides, they didn’t believe they couldn’t pass this trial.

Didn’t they see that Gu Xi was staying? That indicated he was confident in surviving in such an environment.

Moreover, if push came to shove, they could just hide in Gu Xi’s city; surely, Gu Xi wouldn’t abandon them.

In fact, they weren’t wrong—Gu Xi was indeed not going to manage this time.

Previously, he opened up to enlist players to help with tasks he found inconvenient to handle.

For the past two days, Gu Xi had indeed opened access to the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, but it didn’t mean he guaranteed these people’s survival.

When the time came, Gu Xi planned to run first, and those wanting back into the Mysterious Mirror Image Space would be out of luck.

When more than forty players had left intermittently, Gu Xi approached the remaining dozen or so players.

He first took a look at these players.

The remaining stubborn players mostly hailed from smaller guilds.

Players from big guilds would leave as soon as one leader decided to.

When they saw Gu Xi coming, they were quite polite; one even said, ”Mr. Gu, you’ve come over.”

”Guys, here’s the situation. I will definitely be leaving during the day today. When I leave, my Death City will certainly not keep you; I don’t know where you might get tossed without its protection when I depart.

So today, we’ll only be open for two hours, after which Death City will automatically close. I ask for your understanding on this matter.”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, their faces changed.

The reason they had stayed was the belief that Gu Xi’s place was safe enough to hide until the ceremony ended.

If Gu Xi wouldn’t protect them, they wouldn’t have confidence anymore.

At this point, one player stepped forward and said, ”Mr. Gu, can’t you leave the city here?”

Gu Xi glanced at him, almost breaking into laughter from anger.

”What do you think? Leaving Death City here, and the Undead Three Divine Skills too? Should I just leave them because you say so, do I owe you?”

After being bluntly rebuffed by Gu Xi, the players finally realized Gu Xi truly owed them nothing.

So the players exchanged looks, and four or five also chose to leave early.

Yet nearly ten remained stubborn, thinking it was the last day; surely they could find a place to make it through.

So they gave Gu Xi one last look and left without turning back.

Who knows what they were thinking, truly believing Gu Xi would be afraid of them.
