Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 432: Chapter 430: Arrangements Within the City

The [Eagle-Catching Spider’s Nest] in front of us occupies a large area, almost taking up one-tenth of the woodland in the Magic Plant District.

Compared to the previous [Inclined Roof], this place is quite prominent, with the occupied woodland directly covered by a layer of white spider web, resembling frost and snow.

Several black spiders, about the size of calves, move back and forth on the webs, and from their green mandibles, one can tell that these spiders are venomous.

However, what Gu Xi noticed was not these, but the central location of the [Eagle-Catching Spider’s Nest], where there was actually a kind of green pool.

Some green liquid was dripping down the webs there.

”What’s going on? I remember the [Eagle-Catching Spider’s Nest] didn’t have the function of collecting spider venom, right?”

”When the [Eagle-Catching Spider’s Nest] was being built, the Alchemy Laboratory happened to upgrade to Level 3, and a new recipe came out, useful for these Black Ebony Spiders. All the alchemy potion output during this time has been used for this.”

Gu Xi listened to the situation here, not expecting such a thing.

”Oh, what potion is it, does it have a strong effect?”

”Poison Potion, it makes some animals venomous. Now these Black Ebony Spiders are in a venom-spitting state and need to take the Poison Potion for a while longer, about two more weeks. In the future, all Black Ebony Spiders will have the effect of venomous attacks.

Meanwhile, the nearby webs will also be influenced, carrying a strong toxicity.”

While Gu Xi and others were talking, they happened to arrive at the Garrison Gate located in the Magic Plant District.

At this moment, Gu Xi noticed that many scarecrows were inserted on the City Gate.

When Gu Xi came over, these scarecrows even turned their heads to look at him, their faces made of burlap sacks and eyes made of buttons looked quite eerie.

”No way, how are these scarecrows arranged here?”

”They’re suitable here, these are all Rice Straw Hunters. Don’t be fooled by them being fixed in place and unable to move. They have an extremely strong defensive role.”

Gu Xi curiously went up to the top of the Garrison Gate and found that seen from below, these Rice Straw Hunters didn’t seem tall, but approaching them, he discovered they were over three meters high.

They even had net-throwing weapons entwined in their hands, with stones and boomerangs piled at their bamboo pole feet.

On their outstretched arms stood ten ravens, and if not for their relatively small size and metallic sheen on their beaks, Gu Xi would have thought these were ravens used by the Chaoyang Radiance Guild for sending messages.

On the City Wall, a Rice Straw Hunter stood every five meters. Other than their heads turning, they didn’t move at all normally.

Gu Xi didn’t know their purpose here but instead noticed a few big trees seemed to have appeared in the Mist outside the Garrison Gate.

Certain corpses were hanging from the big trees.

”Those are? Tree Pits of the Dead?”

Gu Xi felt speechless. He hadn’t even visited the Dark Farm yet, and already the species there were deployed on this side.

”Yes, I actually considered putting the Dark Farm here before, because several species there have a high compatibility with the Magic Plant District.

But the Magic Plant District won’t be the main direction of development in the future, and it’s still not the time to develop toward that direction with the Mist District and the depths of the Mirror Image Underground Palace so nearby.

So I moved the Dark Farm to the direction of Yalidov Tower.”

Luna explained some of the situation here.

But Gu Xi’s attention wasn’t on that. He leaned against the City Wall and closely watched the Tree Pit of the Dead not far away, noticing that the bodies hanging from tree-like things moved.

Simultaneously, about ten meters below the tree, arms occasionally emerged from the ground.

”Are Tree Pits of the Dead like scarecrows, immobile once rooted?”

”They can move but at a slower pace. It took nine full days for these Tree Pits of the Dead to walk over from the Blood-colored Forest.”

Just then, a group of Deceitful Shadows rushed out from the nearby Mist.

These Deceitful Shadows were not many, nor very strong, their instinct just driving them to attack Gu Xi’s city.

As they charged, the suspended bodies on the Tree Pits of the Dead let out an unpleasant laugh, attracting a large portion of the Deceitful Shadows toward them.

However, they were grabbed tightly by arms emerging from underground, just ten meters in front of the Tree Pits of the Dead.

Soon, the hanging bodies on the trees dropped down and began actively attacking these Deceitful Shadows.

Is this supposed to be Root Entanglement?

Gu Xi was speechless. He just slept for fifteen days, and now all the Undead situations were unfamiliar to him.

At this moment, all the Rice Straw Hunters sprang into action, and the ravens perched on them soared toward the Deceitful Shadows.

Simultaneously, they threw stones and boomerangs at the shadows.

Gu Xi found their range was astonishingly far.

The ravens could fly about seven hundred meters from the scarecrows, while the stones and boomerangs thrown could reach at least two hundred meters.

This exceeded the usual situation of Skeleton Soldiers. It seemed placing scarecrows on the City Gate was reasonable as decided by Luna and her team.

”Have all the City Gates been arranged this way?”

”No, only the Garrison Gate has been set up. Over at the Steel City Gate, there are Earth-bound Deceitful Dragons, so none were set up there.

At the Main City Gate, six Dragon Corpses turned into Bone Dragons after fifteen days of transformation. They’re all staying there now, so there weren’t any scarecrows arranged.”

”All turned into Bone Dragons, what about the previous Red Dragons?

Are they alright?”

”For the time being, they’re okay. I transferred them to the Mysterious Mirror Image Space. There they can relax, away from the influence of the Blood Maple.”

”That’s good, but what about the two refugee camps this time, were they affected by the Blood Maple, didn’t they all end up as Undead Species?”

”No, this time both refugee camps actually produced good species, with last week’s yielding 8 Pegasus Cavalry, Level 4, which I also sent to the Mysterious Mirror Image Space.

This week’s produced 6 Cyclops, though only at Level 5, clearly not the strongest on the ground, and all 6 Cyclops were claimed by Di Mi.”

”Di Mi? Have the three buildings she needed all been built?”

Upon hearing that Di Mi took the Cyclops, Gu Xi asked further.

”Yes, on the fourth day of your slumber, they were all completed, and Di Mi automatically became a Hero of the city on the same day. However, she exclusively occupies the Giant Graveyard District and demands all Vampires produced in the recent weeks be integrated into her team.”
