Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 420: Chapter 418: Return to the Guild

On the guild’s carriage, Gu Xi silently lowered his head, while opposite him, Li Xinghui was chatting on and off with Gu Xi about something.

However, Gu Xi’s mind wasn’t on it, and he wasn’t paying much attention, just nodding absently, not actually listening to anything.

It wasn’t until Li Xinghui shook Gu Xi that Gu Xi lifted his head in confusion.

”Hey, you didn’t listen to a word I said, did you?”

”Ah, I was just thinking about something, and didn’t react immediately.”

Gu Xi raised his head, saying somewhat awkwardly.

”What thinking? I bet you were calculating the losses this time. I heard that coming out early from the Grand Ceremony world means no rewards.

But don’t worry, the guild leader said your share won’t be less.”

Gu Xi shook his head, ”It’s not that. We knew from the beginning there wouldn’t be any good rewards. After all, we dropped from the points leaderboard on the first day, and without the leaderboard, there’s naturally nothing.

Exiting early is really nothing.”

Listening to Gu Xi, Li Xinghui didn’t believe him at all.

The benefits from the White Training Grand Ceremony were plenty, but the most valuable was the first-place reward on the points leaderboard.

Now, everyone exited early, which means nobody got that reward.

No matter what Gu Xi did in the ceremony, exiting ultimately meant receiving nothing.

So, Li Xinghui thought Gu Xi’s poor gains were why he seemed down.

But he had no idea that Gu Xi had actually profited immensely this time.

To say the least, Gu Xi’s forces now numbered over ten thousand, all level four or higher regular troops.

Furthermore, his city had significantly expanded due to this world event, with various architectural design plans already queued for construction 30 days ahead.

And let’s not even mention Luna, who was on her way back—Gu Xi didn’t know what she had obtained, but he was sure Luna acquired a fragment of the Life-taking Stone.

If one gets an Orange Equipment, what does the points leaderboard even mean?

Nobody in Bailian City had profited like Gu Xi this time.

Yet, Li Xinghui was unaware of all this and still trying to give Gu Xi advice.

”I’ve heard about your situation this time. Even without ranking points, you, single-handedly pressing down the elite players of the Corpse Bone Fish Dragons, Ghostly Spear, and Steel Ghost Claw—these Three Great Guilds—is quite an achievement.

That’s something to be proud of. Once you return, you don’t need to say anything. Just wait for the guild leader to come back.

Whatever the guild leader gives you, just take it, because it will definitely be good stuff.”

At this point, Li Xinghui even patted Gu Xi on the shoulder, ”You might even get two pieces of Purple Armor.”

Had it been before exiting, Gu Xi might have been excited.

But in the White Training Grand Ceremony, Gu Xi already obtained two pieces of Purple Armor and might even get an Orange Armor, so whether it’s one or two Purple Armors didn’t really interest him much.

Gu Xi’s indifferent attitude caught Li Xinghui’s attention too.

”What’s up? Have you become so powerful that you look down on Purple Armor?”

”No, but what I really want right now is a fuseable land title. Do you think if I ask the guild, they will give me the full set from Evil Temple to Dark Temple?”

”You’re dreaming,”

Li Xinghui laughed and said, ”If you really want to trade, you could swap a piece of Purple Armor for a Tomb full set, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Purple Armor significantly boosts your combat power, but the Tomb doesn’t make much difference.

The Tomb definitely can’t give you the best. It would only provide a basic setup producing four Corpse Witches per week, starting at level six. You wouldn’t build even a basic unit in a year or two.

With that time, you could level up with Purple Armor and be able to summon Corpse Witches yourself within a few months.”

Gu Xi understood that Li Xinghui was referring to the current mainstream thoughts among all Undead Mages.

The Undead Corps mainly relied on summoning unless it was a traditional old family; very few would choose to build their own training camp.

But Gu Xi’s approach was completely different.

He started with a city and it’s slowly developing.

The main issue in Gu Xi’s city is that many pre-requisite buildings haven’t been constructed yet.

Like the [Scarlet Temple Design Map] he held, which required the Tomb as a prerequisite.

From Gu Xi’s perspective, training Corpse Witches in a Tomb wasn’t something he could expect anytime soon.

Now with this possibility, the opportunity to train Red Knights by building a Divine Hall has come.

So Gu Xi secretly noted this possibility in his heart.

Now Gu Xi perked up, talking with Li Xinghui about events that happened during the White Training Grand Ceremony.

Upon hearing that Gu Xi made many friends but also lost many who died in the ceremony, Li Xinghui remarked,

”That’s normal; you’re just starting, and the worlds you encounter are simpler. If you enter an exploratory world, death could mean actual death.

You’ll find familiar faces disappearing around you daily, replaced by batches of unfamiliar newcomers joining the team.

Sometimes, you’ll realize how great it is just to be alive.”

Gu Xi shared some of Li Xinghui’s sentiments.

Xia Yi and Wang Baogen were just such cases.

He thought both were fitting as friends, but the next moment, they were gone.

He could sense the pain in Li Xinghui’s words; how many comrades must fall to gain such insight?

”Alright, let’s not talk about this. By the way, did you gain anything special in the White Training Grand Ceremony? What was the route of this ceremony? If you have any unique gains you don’t want, you could sell them.

You might not know where the market the guild players self-organized is.

I’ll take you there later. If there’s anything you don’t want, you can sell it.”

”Alright then.”

Gu Xi was quite willing to sell some of the unimportant strange items.

Although Gu Xi hadn’t been participating in combat these days, his subordinates were never idle.

All five heroes were dispatched, moving from the Garrison Gate through the Blood Luo Cave to fight on the streets outside.

Plenty of supplies and bizarre items were collected.

Gu Xi, being preoccupied with matters related to the Celestial Dao White-robed Great Guanyin, hadn’t focused on this, not even organizing, handing everything to Kane for handling.

Now Gu Xi was troubled with a pile of unhandled white and gray bizarre items in hand.

Li Xinghui’s suggestion stirred excitement in Gu Xi.
