Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 409: Chapter 407: The Players’ Arrival

[The start of a new day, now settling yesterday’s information:

Bailian City: 319 players, 177 killed in battle or withdrawn, 0 on the leaderboard.

Cold Leaf City: 320 players, 320 killed in battle or withdrawn, 0 on the leaderboard (Cold Leaf City players all wiped out).

Qiufeng City: 320 players, 320 killed in battle or withdrawn, 0 on the leaderboard (Qiufeng City players all wiped out).]

In the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, Gu Xi looked at the information that popped up in front of him, and his brows couldn’t help but furrow.

The number of Bailian City players who were killed in battle or withdrew seemed a bit high.

Sixty people were killed in just one day.

Without the targeting of players from the other two cities, this is obviously unreasonable.

This loss is too great.

Gu Xi had some guesses in his heart, fearing that the influence of the Life-taking Stone had already begun to spread throughout the city.

It looks like he needs to speed up his actions.

While Gu Xi was considering this matter, the nearby mirrors lit up one by one.

One player after another stepped out of the mirrors, very skillfully taking out the loot from last night and setting up stalls nearby.

However, they hadn’t finished handling their business when they looked up to see Gu Xi waiting nearby. Several players greeted Gu Xi, with some who were more familiar with him stepping forward to ask questions.

”Brother Gu, what are you doing here too? Did you have any good finds yesterday?”

”The stuff Brother Gu pulls out is always good. Don’t go snatching from me, guys.”

”No way, I was here first.”

Seeing the players’ lively demeanor, a trace of a smile appeared on Gu Xi’s face.

Last night he didn’t go anywhere, just avoided external influences by staying in Yalidov City.

But his subordinates went out.

At the Garrison Gate in the Blood Luo Cave, at night it happened to connect to a normal subway station, and upon exiting it was a street overrun by demons.

After discovering this situation, Gu Xi decisively dispatched all five heroes.

He let them attack on their own.

After a night of fierce battle, they indeed brought back a large amount of supplies and corpses for Gu Xi.

However, because there was no command from Gu Xi and no clear targets, the items they obtained were basically the most basic supplies, unlike the previous night when they captured a lot of ground and obtained enough Land Titles and Architectural Design Plans.

Regarding these supplies, Gu Xi prioritized supplementing the resources that were significantly depleted because of Eldest Princess Anna’s presence.

All the remaining items were sent here.

Looking at the items the players took out for trade, Gu Xi was somewhat unsure if the things he brought out would attract the players.

But the players understood Gu Xi’s thoughts; upon seeing him there, they quickly called their friends and contacted the players who hadn’t arrived yet.

In just over ten minutes, over eighty percent of the remaining more than one hundred and forty players had gathered.

Seeing the player count exceed a hundred, Gu Xi stood a bit higher and shot a Magic Divine Arrow into the sky to grab the players’ attention.

”Everyone, look over here. I believe you’re all wondering why I am here, right? It’s like this, I have a few tasks and wanted to ask my brothers if any of you can take them on.

As long as someone is willing to accept the task, I can offer a reward.”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, all the players on site were a bit stunned, as they thought Gu Xi was here to sell good items.

Unexpectedly, Gu Xi actually had jobs available.

It was Zuo Ya who spoke first at this moment.

”Brother Gu, you’re too polite. Whatever task you have, just say it. As long as we can do it, we will definitely help, don’t mention rewards or anything.”

At this point, Gu Xi instead laughed, ”The task isn’t big, but it’s troublesome. Some tasks need to harness unnatural influence, and I know some unnatural forces are already in the brothers’ hands.

To rob you of the unnatural, wouldn’t that ruin the brotherly bonds?

That’s why I wanted to ask if anyone is willing to make a move.

In fact, there aren’t many tasks, those interested can come take a look.”

While speaking, Gu Xi took out a piece of white paper and stuck it on the board behind him.

After posting it, Gu Xi stepped aside, and the players crowded up.

They found that the tasks were just as Gu Xi had said; they weren’t that difficult, just needed some negotiation with unnatural forces.

Without the unnatural, relying solely on the players would probably be hard to accomplish.

For example, the first task on the list was to make it rain citywide for seven days.

Such a task would likely be impossible for ordinary players, but the eyes of the players in front of them lit up.

”This is a godsend opportunity, I can do this task, I know Rain Girl, with her here, not just seven days of rain, but even a month of rain is possible.”

”What does Rain Girl count for, I’m in contact with Ox Demon. Once I succeed, I’ll stir up a typhoon and rain storm, I refuse to believe the rain won’t be enough.”

”I can too...”

As more and more players joined in, Gu Xi found that many tasks he thought were quite difficult were taken by others.

These tasks were those that Gu Xi considered impossible or intended to confuse the players.

But with a turn of a thought, the players could find ways to tackle even the toughest tasks.

Seeing this, Gu Xi was quite pleased and said directly to the players.

”Since everyone is busy with my tasks, I naturally can’t leave you without benefits. Here’s the deal, for the next few days I’ll be open all day. If you want to use the mirror to go somewhere, you can go through me directly, I won’t charge a passage fee.”

Hearing Gu Xi’s words, all the players burst into laughter.

Of course, they saw the benefits of the Mysterious Mirror Image Space, but it was Gu Xi’s Death City, which they dare not imagine.

But now that Gu Xi offered the passage, they naturally wouldn’t miss such an opportunity.

They each thought about how to gain more benefits.

As for Gu Xi’s tasks, they were accomplished just by asking an unnatural force, not requiring them to run a thousand miles.

These players quickly came and went in the mirrors.

Seeing them behave like this, Gu Xi also smiled.

The last loophole had been patched; everything that followed would be left to luck.

Leaving the tasks there, Gu Xi turned and headed towards the temporary camp.

At this point, the major unnatural forces killed by Luna were starting to resurrect one by one. Since the Death Rule hadn’t been extracted by Gu Xi, some major unnatural forces were resurrecting faster than the usual unnatural.

The one Gu Xi intended to meet this time was one such being, its whole body wrapped in bandages, looking like a mummy.

But it was the boldest in the group of Mirror Image unnatural forces, known for a frontal assassination, targeted at this guy.
