I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 450, It Really Helped a Lot

[System, check in and open the Assistance Package.] Su Bai summoned in his mind as soon as he opened his eyes.

Now being alone in his room, opening the Assistance Package was a matter of seconds, and he didn’t need to worry about embarrassment from receiving something too large.

Su Bai’s black eyes brightened at the words ‘cabbage’, as this was truly something valuable.

He contentedly weighed the packet of cabbage seeds in his hand and said, “With this, the Tribe will truly have leafy vegetables now.”

Currently, the Flame Dragon Tribe mostly has carbohydrates, with no leafy vegetables to speak of. They had tomatoes, but those were not counted as leafy vegetables. The closest to leafy vegetables was some wild plants.

The wild plants tasted both astringent and bitter, with a texture that was not particularly pleasant. They were certainly not as good as the leafy vegetables from Earth.

Although the System had previously provided a packet of lettuce seeds, they had been consumed completely at their previous location, with no seeds saved.

“Now, I can plant cabbage seeds and we’ll have more variety to eat during the snow season,” Su Bai said with satisfaction.

Cabbage has a very long storage time; with proper storage, keeping it for a month or two would not be a problem.

Su Bai got up, changed into a set of clothes, and went to the living room, planning to plant the cabbage seeds today.

Afterward, he would use the Growth Acceleration Skill to promote their growth for several consecutive days, allowing for a quick harvest.

By continuing this process for several days, a large quantity of cabbage could be stored. They could also make some preserved meat cabbage. Or they could dry the cabbage to make dried vegetables, which, while not as good in texture as fresh vegetables, would offer a different flavour.

The reason for wanting to use the Growth Acceleration Skill multiple times was to ensure the whole greenhouse could be planted. After all, if he could make the current cabbage grow faster, allowing them to grow taller until they flowered and matured, they would have more seeds.

“Shaman, breakfast is ready.” Yu Ying said. She had specifically gone to check on the horses in the horse pen that morning and found that although the horses had been Tamed, they still looked frightening.

It was mainly due to their size and the single horn on their foreheads, which looked somewhat scary, as if they might pierce through you at any moment.

“Did you go see the horses this morning?” Su Bai asked.

Yu Ying nodded, placing the food on the table, and said, “Yes, I wanted to see if they are adapting well.”

“Although they’ve been Tamed, it’s still better not to get too close,” Su Bai cautioned.

After all, she was not a Warrior. If the horses made any sudden movements, she would not be able to evade them.

“I understand, Shaman,” Yu Ying nodded and continued, “When I came over this morning, Uncle Gu Mu asked you to go see him after breakfast.”

Originally, Gu Mu wanted to come personally, but due to his advanced age and the many tasks he had to attend to daily, Su Bai had told him that if there was anything to report, he could just send someone with a message. If it was something very important, it would be fine to send someone to invite him over.

“Oh? Did he mention what it is about?” Su Bai asked, though he already had an answer in mind.

“He said that the task the Shaman assigned to him has been completed, and he wants you to come check it,” Yu Ying said.

“I understand. Let’s eat quickly, and we’ll go when we’re done,” Su Bai nodded, looking around and asking, “Where are Ah’Hua and the others? Why aren’t they here today?”

“They’re training later today, so they’ll come back to eat later,” Yu Ying explained. Yan Hua had told her that morning not to prepare breakfast for them.

“I see,” Su Bai calmly said.

*Step step step*

The two finished breakfast in just over half an hour, tidied up briefly, and headed toward the Gu Mu’s workshop.

After about ten minutes, they arrived at the workshop, just as Gu Mu was opening the door and walking out. He approached with a smile on his face, excitedly saying, “Shaman, I’ve completed what you asked me to do.”

“Where is it? Let me see,” Su Bai was already getting impatient.

A few days ago, he had asked him to create a carriage, providing him with a structural blueprint with detailed explanation. All Gu Mu had to do was follow the blueprints to create the carriage. It was not particularly difficult, but it was not simple either.

Gu Mu walked to the side of the wooden house and lifted a large piece of Animal Hide covering the carriage.

A wooden carriage appeared before their eyes, looking very similar to the blueprints Su Bai had drawn.

The shape of it was quite similar to the ancient carriages from Earth, with four large wheels and a large body to hose people. It also had two large windows and a ‘door’ at the front – the door was just an open rectangle. Also, the back of the carriage was completely sealed.

Two long poles extended forward from the sides of the carriage, used to secure the horse.

The overall shape was standard and flawless. As long as the horse was tied to the front of the carriage and made to run, it would move.

“Shaman, this was quite simple to make, though it took some time to figure it out.” Gu Mu confidently said.

The carriage was really not that complicated for him; he only needed one evening to study it, and by the next day, he already knew how to build it.

“Well done, truly worthy of being the Flame Dragon Tribe’s carpenter.” Su Bai was generous with his praise.

It could be said that many people in the Tribe had greatly helped with his farming plan. Without these people, his plan was not have progressed so smoothly.

“Shaman, would you like to try it? Since there’s no horse, I don’t know if this vehicle can move.” Gu Mu was also eager to see his carriage in motion.

When he received the blueprints and heard the explanation, he was amazed by the Shaman’s imagination. He never expected that beasts could be made to pull such a thing. If this carriage could truly be pulled by them and set in motion, it would be of great help to the Tribe.

“Yes, of course we should try it,” Su Bai’s gaze remained fixed on the carriage as he instructed, “Xiao Yu, ask Qing Mu to bring a horse over.”

He was already imagining the sight of a horse pulling it. If the carriage was properly made, the Tribe would truly have a means of transportation.

“Alright,” Yu Ying immediately turned and ran off.

Gu Mu paused for a moment, asking in confusion, “Shaman, do we have horses in our Tribe?”

He had been so busy researching how to build the carriage that he had not paid attention to what new things had come to the Tribe.
