I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 463, Night Raid!

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…* Three hot air balloons continued flying in the sky. Su Bai and the others had left directly from the Tribe that day.

This was the second day after leaving the Flame Dragon Tribe, and they had been advancing towards the ocean. In order for the Tribe to achieve salt independence sooner, it was necessary to make this journey in person.

“Shaman, the wind is strong. Please sit down.” Sha Lan said with concern.

As the snow season was approaching, the temperature had already begun to gradually decrease, not to mention that now they were flying in the sky in hot air balloons, which inevitably made it a bit chilly.

“I’m fine. Looking at the scenery is also good, and I’m also wearing two layers today.” Su Bai shook his head.

Since the weather had begun to cool down, they had brought more linen clothing when they set out.

Yu Ying had prepared them for Su Bai and the other girls, and had also made many foods.

For instance, some sweet potato cakes or potato cakes, fried foods that were dry, convenient to carry, and also delicious to eat.

“Shaman, how much longer until we reach the ocean?” Yu Ying’s face was filled with anticipation.

Originally, Yu Ying was meant to stay in the Tribe and not come along, but later Su Bai reconsidered and decided to bring her. After all, he also wanted her to see the ocean. After staying in the Tribe for a long time, it was good to go outside and see different places.

“According to the time it took Sha Lan last time, we should arrive by tomorrow morning,” Su Bai said.

Truthfully, the closer he got to the ocean, the more he looked forward to it, as he did not know what the ocean in the Primitive Era would be like.

Moreover, he did not know if there would be other Tribes near the coastline. If there were, perhaps they could cooperate.

When the time came, he could let them help with sun-salt drying, and in exchange, he could trade some food unique to the inland.

However, all of this was just his speculation; whether it was true or not would only be known when they arrived.

“I wonder what the ocean will be like?” Yu Ying began to murmur to herself.

*Whoosh whoosh whoosh…*

The hot air balloons continued flying in the sky, and in the blink of an eye, it was already evening.

The three hot air balloons stopped in a forest by the riverside, planning to spend the night here and continue their journey early the next morning.

*Crackling…*

As night fell, several Teepees had been set up in the forest by the riverside, and many bonfires had been lit.

The sound of burning wood in the bonfires crackled loudly, forming a stark contrast with the calls of beasts in the forest.

Su Bai and the young girls sat around the bonfire, the orange-red firelight continuously shining on their faces.

Yu Ying was roasting meat, which the Warriors had just hunted. As seasonings were added, waves of fragrance wafted out.

“Shaman, have a leg.” Yu Ying passed over the roasted beast meat.

“All of you eat too. You must be hungry after flying all day,” Su Bai took the roasted beast leg.

Yan Hua and the others all nodded heavily, took the prepared meat, and began to eat heartily. By nightfall, the weather was not so hot, and everyone’s appetite had improved.

“Shaman, rest assured tonight. I will definitely keep a good watch outside.” Ye Jiu said seriously.

She had volunteered to come along. Since receiving her combat knife, she had made up her mind to follow Su Bai.

Originally, it was because of him that she was able to enter the Flame Dragon Tribe, but unexpectedly, life had become better and better.

“En, arrange your shifts to keep watch at night. It’s too tiring for one person to keep watch through the night,” Su Bai instructed.

Sometimes, when one person watches for a whole night, they start to become fatigued and slack off in the latter half of the night, so it was always better to have several people take turns.

“I understand,” Ye Jiu nodded.

*Rustling…*

Just as Ye Jiu‘s voice fell, a series of sounds came from not far away from them.

Ye Jiu immediately stood up, drew her combat knife, swept her grey eyes around, and looked very serious.

Yan Hua was the same; her red eyes were wide open, and she also took out her military knife.

“Shaman, be careful,” Sha Lan immediately stood up to block in front of Su Bai, with a longbow already in her hand.

Although Yu Ying was not a Warrior and could not help much, she was also very brave. She picked up the fruit knife that had just been used to cut meat and also stood up, following to surround the nearby area.

She gathered her courage, widened her pink eyes, and said. “Shaman, I will protect you.”

Su Bai was stunned, not expecting that even Yu Ying, who had always been timid and weak, would now stand tall with such bravery.

This was truly a bit beyond his expectations. Seeing her holding the fruit knife with her body still slightly trembling, he could not help but feel warmth wash over him.

He reached out to hold her and said. “Leave this to them. You should sit down first.”

Although he was moved by her gesture, it was still better to leave this matter to the Warriors.

“Who’s there?” Yue’s expression was very serious, constantly waving the Crocodile Blade in her hand.

The rabbit eared girl had taken Sha Hong’s place this time and had also come out from the Tribe.

*Rustling…* Not far from their position, rustling sounds continued to be made, and those sounds were getting closer.

*Whoosh!* Suddenly, the sound of something cutting through the air rang out, and a shadow flew over from a distance, moving very quickly.

Ye Jiu reacted quickly, instantly saw the object, ran quickly to Su Bai’s front, and extended the hand holding the combat knife to block the shadow.

*Plop!* As the shadow fell, what gradually appeared was a sharp stone. The stone had been polished to be long and thin, and most importantly, it was very sharp.

If this stone were to pierce someone’s body, it would instantly penetrate, and if it hit a vital spot, it would directly lead to death.

“Shaman, be careful!” Ye Jiu immediately blocked in front.

Su Bai blinked his black eyes, looking at the stone on the ground. In fact, he had already sensed the people in the distance. He already knew before the *rustling* sounds even started, but he just did not want to alert them.

He wanted to let those people hiding in the dark get closer, which would also be more convenient to deal with.

The people hiding in the dark were not many, only four in total, and Su Bai had already made preparations.

When those four people got closer, he would use his Skill, Finger Gun, to shoot them all down. However, before he could act, he was blocked by Ye Jiu.

“The opponents are not weak; you need to be more careful.” Su Bai warned seriously.

From the stone, it was obvious that a lot of force was used. They must have used their Totem Power to throw this stone with the effect it just had.

“Yes!” Ye Jiu understood as well.
