I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 471, We Must Bring Him Back to the Tribe

After listening to Co Co’s explanation, Su Bai fell into contemplation. [Will this wood raft craftsman be of use?]

He raised his head and asked, “Do you often go out to the sea on rafts to fish along the coast?”

“Yes, but those rafts aren’t very durable and easily fall apart. We only dare to go out when the weather is good.” Co Co explained.

“So how often do you replace your rafts? And what do they look like?” Su Bai asked.

“We have to replace them after every trip, just to be safe. It wasn’t like this before, which led to many people dying out in the water.”

Co Co recalled the appearance of the rafts and continued, “The raft is made of many pieces of wood joined together, with a tall wooden pole in the middle that has an animal hide attached to it.”

“Why is there a tall wooden pole in the middle? And why hang Animal Hide on it?” Yan Hua asked curiously.

“This piece of animal hide allows the raft to move forward easily with the power of the wind.” Su Bai explained.

“Yes, the Shaman is correct. This saves us the time of paddling with wooden boards.” Co Co nodded repeatedly.

Co Co had not expected the Shaman to understand this, as it should only be known to Coastal Tribes. Her admiration for the Shaman immediately deepened.

“Did you not see anyone else besides him?” Su Bai asked.

“No, we watched for quite a long time and only discovered Long…” Co Co shook her head.

Su Bai nodded thoughtfully and said, “Let’s rescue him tonight. The Flame Dragon Tribe needs him.”

He had already planned to give this man the task of building ships after rescuing him and returning to the Tribe.

Although the man only knew how to build rafts, there were some similarities between rafts and ships. Both were designed to float on water and were constructed from wood. As long as he provided the man with design blueprints and gave him time to study them, he would eventually figure out how to build a ship.

Co Co wondered if she had misheard and asked, “Shaman, are you serious?”

She was surprised by two things: first, that the Flame Dragon Tribe needed Long, and second, that they would rescue him.

“Yes, we’ll go tonight without delay, and then tomorrow we’ll return.” Su Bai said seriously.

To deal with the Sea Insect Tribe, they needed someone familiar with them, and Long was undoubtedly the best choice. He had stayed with the Sea Insect Tribe for a long time, and he also knew how to build rafts. These two reasons were sufficient to bring him to the Flame Dragon Tribe.

“Understood.” Co Co said earnestly.

“You should stay here. Let Shu Feng and Ai’er go with the others. They’ll manage better without having to look after you.” Su Bai said.

Taking Co Co along would be troublesome. Not only would they need to be stealthy, but they would also have to constantly ensure her safety.

“Yes, wait for us to return. I’ve seen what he looks like, so I’ll bring him back,” Ai’er said seriously.

“Please be careful,” Co Co said.

Ai’er nodded and set off with Shu Feng and Cheng Shi, carrying their weapons.

*Flap, flap…* The three of them flew directly towards the coastline with their weapons. It was already late, around eight o’clock. After flying for more than an hour, the three arrived above the Sea Fish Tribe.

“Only you know what he looks like, so take the telescope.” Shu Feng said.

“Brother Shu Feng, will you go down to bring him up?” Cheng Shi asked.

He asked this because he also wanted to go down and bring the man up.

“Yes, it’s safer if I go down.” Shu Feng nodded.

If this were regular training, it would not matter, but since they were rescuing someone, he needed to handle it personally.

“Alright, I’ll help Shu Feng Brother keep an eye out for others,” Cheng Shi said immediately.

Ai’er kept looking through the telescope, trying to find the man again.

After more than half an hour, she finally spotted the familiar figure and immediately called the other two to look.

“It’s him!” Shu Feng looked at the man and dove down, flapping his brown wings.

*Flap, flap…* Since this was a direct rescue mission, speed was important. Just quickly go down and bring him up.

Shu Feng flew very quickly, swooping down from high above in the blink of an eye, as fast as an arrow released from a bowstring.

As he neared the ground, he spread his large wings particularly wide to cushion his descent and slow down.

The moment he reached the ground, Shu Feng stretched out both hands to grab Long’s hands and flew upward.

Everything happened in a flash, and clearly, the latter did not even have the time to react.

“You—” Just as he was about to say something, he was cut off by a statement.

“If you want to live, be quiet. Co Co is still alive.” Shu Feng said simply and clearly.

Long looked up at him. Since it was night, only a bit of moonlight illuminated the other’s face. His features were too blurry to make out clearly, but Long noticed he had a pair of wings.

However, he could not recall anyone like this in the Tribe, and Co Co could not possibly know this person either. So, why would he say such a thing?

Because Shu Feng had timed the rescue perfectly, there was almost no one around. Furthermore, he was so fast that others had no time to react.

“Great, let’s quickly head back.” Ai’er said happily. This had gone quite smoothly.

“Let me carry him.” Cheng Shi immediately volunteered. He still wanted to help, and holding a person was not difficult.

“It’s fine. Let’s get back quickly; it’s getting late.” Shu Feng said, flapping his wings and flying forward.

“Alright,” Cheng Shi had been looking forward to helping but was now disappointed.

*Flap, flap…* Under the moonlight, the three flew back to their camp along the coastline.

After more than an hour, they returned to Su Bai and set Long down.

He was clearly confused, not knowing what had happened, and stood there in a daze. He had long golden hair reaching down to his back, golden facial hair, and appeared to be around thirty years old.

He looked similar to an IT Professional from Earth, except with much longer hair.

“Long, it’s me, Co Co” Co Co approached.

“It really is you! I’m so glad you’re safe. I thought… I thought…” Long’s face immediately filled with sorrow as he continued, “Almost everyone from the Tribe is gone.”

Co Co had expected this and looked equally distressed as she said, “I guessed as much.”
